No snow yet here in the Pocono Mountains. In fact we're at this insanely good Thai joint. Who would've thought that a few years ago that one could enjoy a nice Thai meal in the Poconos? We've definitely become posh around here.

Tonight was good. Nice to get back on switchback. I freaking love that trail. Unfortunately however it was chock full of cookies. The headwall on razors was decent. Everything below makes the Girl Scouts of America pale in comparison. Lazy and Paradise were another world. Decent snow on both. Didn't get over to main street. Toast was in the house and has a really sweet picture of conditions on razors this fine evening. Overall it was a fun night.

Good news on switchback
-
Nice report. Hoping for switchback tomorrow.

Who from here goes to Montage for the upper mountain? The few t2b runs all the way over on the far side are nice. After that, when I'm there I'm usually sticking to the North Face lift.

Once you meet everyone it's hard to not identify someone. PASRs are always lurking at Blue.

Nice report. Was debating it today but never materialized. Hoping for challenge, NMDDubb, switch by Thursday.

Classy. -
Does it even matter since the race team owns east mountain now.

I don't mind sugar. Much better than boilerplate -
Usually about 5 - 10 degrees colder in the pocs (not Palmerton or Lehighton but on the plateau itself).

How bad was it in the am? Didn't think it was that bad last night. Have definitely skied worse. -
What's the elevator looking like? Can it be skied or does it look like the Amazon rain forest again?
-
That's because it's Macungie. I kid. It looks bad everywhere.

Razors is slick. A few people are on it that shouldn't be -

Here now and definitely glowing. Snow is decent. Nice large sugar piles on the sides of the the trails. Great for working the legs. MBike is in the house rocking teles. Great night. -
Actually not even Blue. Blue has faster lifts.

Seems like the whims of the race team are more important then having JF's best terrain open for the general public / pass holders during peak hours? As evidenced by previous patrons being clearly pissed off about it (in this thread), can't be a recipe for success.
-
That's insane. What's JF thinking? Razors was open today and the racers were on razorback. It was perfect.

1/16/16..nice conditions..fog to sun!!!

Here now with my daughter. Conditions are great. It's crowded but nothing crazy. Literally skiing onto the quad. Off to the lodge in a few to watch the Patriots for a bit. -
True but I'm talking about frost specifically... It's a "staircase" type of mountain (flat, pitch, flat etc). I would assume that's not the best terrain for racing (speed) . I have no idea however as the extent of my racing is the bronze freaking medal that I won in NASTAR at Montage.
-
While I agree with everyone...sucks that some of the best terrain at frost is limited during prime ski time, If I can play devil's advocate here for a moment, where else could you put a JFBB "race team" ? No trail IMO at JF or BB is conducive to racing. While I hate the fact the the racers close off Razors, razors is a true race trail so I can understand somewhat. For better or for worse (definitely worse in this instance) I think they're trying to make the best of what they have.

A great photog as well.

Tonight was fun. Best snow was on Lazy. Nice to ski Paradise. At one point around 5:45 or so a groomer made it's way down paradise and fresh tracks were had. Still blowing on razors and I believe widowmaker. Fun evening.

According to them over 100 weddings in the past year. That's a lot of weddings.
