The very top of the elevator is steeper, especially the baller route on skiers left. The elevator is much shorter though. Both are legit runs.

CBI had a New year's eve ball drop last night. I'm not kidding, they had a giant lit up ball hanging from a crane. I always knew that place was classy.

Sorry I missed you guys on the snow. The upside of that though was that I got to hear all of the gaper conversation on the lift including multiple references to the "powder", multiple "what's the name of that trail", a complete stranger showing off her new boots to another complete stranger and my favorite, how "Blue is a huge mountain, ... Much bigger than spring". Snow was good. Main Street was great. The snowmaking assault was ongoing. Razors looks real close. Started to get really crowded and it appeared that they were firing up the quad. All in all a fun day. .

There's just way too much going on a CB. Every time I'm there I feel like skiing is just another thing. Skiing should be the only thing to do but that's probably why I could never run a resort. Trails aren't horrible (Pharoah and that double black trail are fun, can't remember the name) but most of it gets old quick, it's crowded and there is way too much trash under the lifts. Oh then there's that roller coaster thing.

Looking much better. Gonna try for tomorrow morning.

Yeah the gun scanner thing is bizarre. I've presented my pass to lift attendants before but I've never had them come at me pointing and waiving a scanning gun at me like we're playing laser tag. It's weird. JFBB needs pony up and get the auto turnstile thingy that Blue has.

That sucks and my heart goes out to the family. I do appreciate Hunter's candor. Had that happened around these parts I'm not sure that we would hear from the ski resort directly like that.

My first thought is why the hell would you put a video of a traumatized child that is likely a family member on YouTube like that? That's awful. Secondly the moron screaming "do a pizza" clearly knows nothing about ski instruction. Unfortunately If I had a dollar for every time I heard a father yelling at their kid to "do a pizza" I'd have a enough cash to purchase a season pass to Elk. The guy filming is probably a shit skier himself.

I honestly didn't known until the dude at the ticket window told me that I couldn't use it today. I may take you up on that later though.

I'll second the sunsets at Blue and the $499 deal. Both are awesome.

My daughter had a freebie for making honor roll at school and I went assuming that I could use a CBS local voucher without reading the fine print about it not being valid on holiday weekend (doh!) so I paid for 1 ticket at the window for 2 people... still a good deal. It definitely wasn't a ghost town but it definitely wasn't your normal holiday Saturday either.

Decided to skip Blue this morning and instead head to JF with my daughter. Arrived around 915ish and met up with JfDan and phillycore at the quad. It was Day 1 for me at frost this season and pretty shocked at the amount of snow they have (more than I had anticipated). Pretty much the entire mountain with the exception of East. Conditions were really nice. Things softened up as the day went on. Phillycore and I demo'd each others skis at one point and JfDan was loving life on his new shreditors. Overall a pretty awesome day today. If East is open next weekend I may be back.

Yeah not sure what's going on over there. The entire width of main street is bumped and rutted up. If people start flying down it they're going to eat it bad. The fog is pretty thick too. Snow is actually pretty good. Unfortunately the rain has started.

Conditions are pretty good right now. Foggy as hell but nice.

There go my plans for skiing the 24th in the morning. Will be there later tonight however.
