  1. I agree With the new snow and the warming temps, I think it's gonna bring out the hoards.
  2. I've not heard any patroller do that either. No, not busy at all. Seemed like more people leaving than arriving.
  3. I hate that I couldn't make open... Forgot to mention we saw a kid who apparently fell off the doubles... Part way up the first section in the woods, next thing we see is kid lying in the lift-line. Estimated 8-10' drop. Questioned whether he fell off or jumped, but from the rental skis, snowplow out, we don't believe he had the cojones to jump. Bar down please...
  4. I got up there late, had to get stuff done at work beforehand. On the south side of the mountain it was dumping, but as we crested the top, I could see the change in density and knew it was almost over. By the time I got on the slopes, snow was all but done. Found some stashes around but pretty much everything was tracked out. Did a few bike trails that were ok, but had to watch for the crust layer from the rain they must have got. Only mogul run that wasn't any good was Challenge, all the rest had some nice fluff in them. Pretty much a waste of a storm for Blue again, as the South and East got the best of it.
  5. Let the vicarious living begin!
  6. Yes, kept on waiting for the changeover, but it never happened.
  7. Started out as a normal Sunday morning, with a mad rush for the first chair. Took a break around 10 to have a goodbye breakfast with departing Danny the groomer which was surprisingly good in the Slopeside. When we finally got back out around 11 the snow was coming down at a steady clip and continued through the entire day. The snow was quite light and fluffy, not heavy or wet, which made for some spectacular conditions. Freshies could be found practically everywhere you went, but probably the best was the left side of Challenge outside the bumps as nobody had skied it. When they opened Razors, both sides had gorgeous snow as the racers stayed mainly in the center. All the bumps were beautify and getting filled in. Barney's glade too was good as was the tree side of Barney's. Even Chute was in pretty good shape. Skied with the son after he got out of work who showed me a route down skiers right of Razors which dumps you out into the baby honey bee bowl on skier's left of the last turn of Dreamweaver. That was a new one for me. Today's conditions were probably second only to last Saturday's dump.
  8. Last night was Danny the groomer's last night at Blue. We could be in for some condition changes for a while...
  9. Bah, day cut off at the knees due to work emergency, ticked me off... I give run of the day to Switchback due to its snow conditions.
  10. We used to stomp the snow down into hardpack and sorta ski down the hill in our bobos, since they had rock-hard plastic bottoms.
  11. No, I think he's got like a 1.5 hour drive to get to Blue.
  12. Tarpon is from Jersey, so I think he deserves an exclusion as well.
  13. QFT! Little story that happened to me later Sunday morning (still Blue pow conditions mind you) that supports your case... In six line with Tarpon and other bumper we know Bob, I'm in far left lane Tarpon and Bob in center lane, I think. Directly in front of me is some gaper guy with ancient sticks, probably only time out this year with teen next to him. At the front of the line is a threesome in the middle, plenty of room for this guy and teen to get on the chair with them. Of course, we all start yelling for guy and teen to go to fill up the chair because we don't want to wait yet another, but they don't go. Well, we're not letting this guy and kid have a chair for themselves, so we're gonna fill it up since there's only two of them now! Guy goes straight, but kid decides to move to center of six seat. So we all follow up and I get in between guy and teen, no problem. We all sit down and I immediately get berated by this guy with "Who do you think you are coming up and sitting between me and my son?" Well, if your son or you really needed to sit right next to one another, why did he move to the middle of the chair?? My response, "It's a pow day!" Guy says "I don't care what day it is". At that point I just chuckled to myself and realized how out of touch this guy is and how much he probably embarrassed his son. Tarpon, Bob and I continued our conversation on the chair in front of them and then got a good laugh about it afterwards. It would have been much easier to converse with them if I didn't have to talk around the kid, geez!
