  1. Razors was mighty hard and slick and when it finally opened to the public it was like a junkyard strewn with all sorts of ski equipment! I don't think I ever saw so many people down on the upper headwall. Barney's were quite nice all day, especially in the morning with some freshly blown snow to fill them up. Nightmare bumps were quite pleasant to ski, no boiler and pretty soft, probably because they're pretty much ignored. Best snow on the mountain was definitely on the sides of Paradise. The snow was like baby powder!

    For season pass holders!
  3. Looks like it's already starting...
  4. You're not alone. I got stuck in Chicago last night as they cancelled my last leg back to LVI. Awaiting my return flight at 1:00.
  5. It was pretty good conditions for Easterners out here, but locals get a kick out of us loving it. One local we rode up with yesterday told us most of his friends haven't even been out skiing once this year yet and twice he's skied and golfed in the same day. Everyone is saying how bad they're hurting for snowfall. The best areas of the mountain are closed due to the lack of snow. Guide told us that they've been getting more and more snow in May, which does them no good since they have to close.
  6. I'm riding my Chronics, but took out my Prophets this morning. Was expecting a bit more snow from the "storm" that came through, but it only amounted to a couple 2-3".
  7. Woke up to beautiful blue-bird skies, only to have, within a second an inversion kick in and sock the valley into pea soup fog.
  8. You're in Jackson Hole! Why would you wish you were at Blue???
  9. Some ring-toss game in bar. Never saw this before. Must not get out much.
  10. No excuse to not make open, best time/ conditions to ski!
  11. Snow still falling. Gotta make first chair breakfast and get right down to lifts. Alta Radio playing some kick-ass tunes. Peruvian is definitely the place to be when in Alta!!
  12. Definitely an interesting setup, right above the bar playing tunes till 10. Got word they were caroling drunk women out last night. We're here to ski, not luxuriate.! Put in 8-4 today. Could have done more, but beer & hot tub calling. They dump tons of chlorine in tub, so no worries there. Talking to guy in from Tahoe, he says there's NO snow out there at all, which is why he's here. Nobody cares what you look like in hot tub. Lady telling us that there was a naked guy one time they were in.
  13. I eat a ton for breakfast so I can do lunch or not. Today a bowl of chili and still feeling farty!!
  14. Spaghetti for lunch?? Wow just wow! How long didn't take you to come out of the food coma before you could ski again?
  15. Bunking with 6 others, unfortunately they don't have co-ed bunk rooms, but the price can't be beat!!
  16. Finally got some snow today, albeit not a dumping by any stretch but some is better than none!! Spent the day in the trees as they had the best snow by far. Met up with an old timer (78) and had breakfast with him. He comes out for 10 days every month from Long Island and knows the place like the back of his hand. Skied with him for two runs and the guy can really move! He was wearing a Heli-Ski jacked that he said they gave to him for breaking a million vert. Unfortunately we got ahead of him, he took a shortcut and lost him. Ran into him for the last run of the day. Conditions were excellent except for the fog/snow providing white-out conditions. Crapped out of Elephant's Butt!
  17. Sounds like my boot liners. The stench from them will melt snow!
  18. Spoke with a few people who went over to the bird today. They said it was horrible and came back to ski Alta! I torqued the waiter at dinner today by wearing my "Ski The East" T-Shirt. He told me I should bury it.
  19. Best is the beers in the hot tub and conversations with others and then meeting up with them for delicious dinner. What a place this is!! More beer please! From the video, you all surely are!!
  20. High winds up top blowing anything soft into lower areas. Lots of crusty bumps., but some goods can be found in the trees.
  21. Arrived bright and early at the Peruvian to begin Tarponhead & Indiggio's great adventure. Looking clear, with a high of 39 today. Know what I'm saying...
