  1. A foot yesterday and this today! Nooks and crannies filling in!
  2. @AtomicSkier, wanna go halfsies?
  3. I'd like to recommend the Econo Lodge in Montpelier.
  4. You guys got me paranoid - time to check all my upcoming travel arrangements to make sure I have the right month.
  5. Getting to be that time of year that I start checking out the weather for my Taos trip and too bad I'm not going this week! Fat chance that I'll have fresh pow after the "Jackson Hole Incident of 2023".
  6. I forgot that you were going to be up there today! I would have kept my eyes peeled. Mostly lapped the north face with my son, then had 6 slices of Revellos pizza at the Midland. Here’s a couple crappy iPhone SE pictures of my son getting steezy.

    Elk 2/11/23

Fun day at Elk Mountain! Conditions were far from perfect but pretty damn good considering how this winter has been. Only a couple closed trails, and they were blowing on a couple. They had blown a couple inches into the bumps on Tunkhannock overnight and it skied great. Even in the afternoon it wasn’t too icy. Definitely some icy spots on some trails and a few skid marks, but that’s to be expected considering the weather lately. Run of the day was Tecumseh. Snow and grooming was NICE on that one. Chilling with a brewski now and going to dinner at my spot Dino and Francesco’s tonight. Nice little day with the family.
  8. I just saw that the Blister Summit is taking place while you are out there. Keep your eyes peeled for some pro skiers cruising around!
  9. Nice. Slide brook express wasn't open when I was there last year either. Wanted to explore Mt. Ellen a bit but we started on Lincoln Peak so it was a no go. Enjoy!
  10. After being back home and back at work I feel like it was all a dream. Thanks to @AtomicSkier, @GrilledSteezeSandwich, @mute1080 and @NazarethSkier for a super memorable trip. Gonna be hard to match this one in the future.
  11. That one scared the shit out of me. I used to fly like a birdie over falls but now I take it way easier.
  12. No, it’s a Monarch Mountain buff. Pretty random but it always seems to find it’s way to the top of my gear bag.
  13. Great day today after a couple big powder days. Everything was soft and smooth and the steeps were in beautiful shape. Didn’t expect the headwall to be open so that was a serious bonus, and a little exercise as well. Got to ski the expert chutes for the first time ever and it was so good we repeated it (although there was a very spicy traverse to get there. Tomorrow will be a brief AM session before heading to the airport.
  14. Awesome day! Anxiety of waiting on avy mitigation for 1.5 hours had me bugging but it was so worth it. A few sections of the hobacks today was some of the best big mountain powder skiing I’ve had. Could hear @AtomicSkierhooting and hollering and when I came around the corner I knew why. Pretty sick back to back days.
  15. Today was #1 or #1a on the list of deepest powder I’ve skied. Over the head a few times and all in the grill on most turns. Amazing.
  16. What @GrilledSteezeSandwich said, but @mute1080and I did a quick Saratoga bowl and then Washakie Glade. The snow was great and fingers crossed for some good cowboy pow. Some pics of @mute1080 and @NazarethSkier from the Hobacks and Saratoga.
  17. Got to my gate early in Newark and ready to roll. Saw an attractive woman taking a huge bite of a banana which of course piqued my interest. Fingers crossed for a smooth trip!
  18. I'm going to have to buy my trailer park home soon before prices go up. It'll be basically slopeside!
  19. Made the drive up yesterday which was pretty spicy the last hour or so due to snow. They reported 9 inches in the last 24 hours and it was much needed. The mountain skied great with the natural snow groomed in and we even found a little bit of fresh powder. Thin cover in a lot of places but that was to be expected. I don’t know the mountain all that well, but we really cruised all over. Found out that our ikon passes worked in the fast track line too which was huge. Saved us hours of lift lines on a busy day. We skied right on every lift like a bunch of little bitches while everyone else was waiting in huge lift lines. It was great. Tomorrow I think we’ll ski Stratton.
  20. I guess I’ll have to keep my boots on in the lot if I want to ride it.
  21. Just saw that it's opening on Saturday. Not sure if I'm late to the party on this one, but I'm excited!
