  1. Next time don't schedule a dentist appointment during ski season lol
  2. You don't just become an advanced skier overnight can take hundreds of ski days. Anyway way to get after it despite the less than good conditions.
  3. Have you figured out how to carve on ice?
  4. Next time post how the runs were and how the RTMs were and what not. Did you meet any cool people? There were like 15 PASRs today at Blue. Did you wear facemask and was pretzel salty lol
  5. There was no skiing content in report.
  6. I'm gonna SU before I read this.
  7. Hermans sporting goods at the mall used to be the place for lower end gear along with sports authority and they had higher end gear at Nestors and Nazareth sporting goods. Nestors used to have a location in quakertown as well
  8. I've bought a lot of stuff there over the years. Nastar Glenn knows that family from way way back like the 70s. The father used to run the ski school at Apple hill which was in Orefield and closed in the 70s. Back before 1977 when Little Gap(Blue opened) Apple hill was the little local hill and Doe mountain(no bear creek was the big place.
  9. It's always interesting at 759am what's gonna happen with the gates at the 6pack. Today they all opened and the liftees were a bit flustered because ski patrol didn't give them the call yet. Despite the variable conditions on sidewinder it was exciting being there for the role drop and skating and tucking to be ahead of a few dozen people to have an empty run.
  10. Most newer skiers use a boot that is too large. I'm a size 11 street shoe and use a 27.5 ski boot but I used to wear a 28:5 ski boot. Getting out of my boots today was not fun I was on Bender knee like my third favorite boys 2 men song(Motown Philly and Water Runs Dry are 1 and 2 respectively). Despite it being difficult to get out of my boots due to the hard stiff 110 level plastic I know the exact tightness to ski comfortably for a whole session without making any micro adjustments on cold days my boots are awesome. On warm days like over 45 degrees they are a bit soft.
  11. Whitehall bad? I actually lived in Whitehall right near the Allentown border near 22 and it's gone downhill. I don't like that Buckmans is closed on sundays and the wrong side of 145 if you are headed to Blue. I've only bought a few pairs of goggles, ski socks, gloves and underarmor. I bought my current boots at sports chalet which is as near 309 in west Allentown but it's shutdown now.
  12. I don't blame them for not wanting to set up another demo thirty minutes before closing. I don't like setting up an appointment with a family 30 minutes before we close cause it could take two hours. Anyway there's only one ski shop at the base of blue they have no competition so they will do what they want and most have had good experiences. You can't please everybody. Also why don't people like buckmans?
  13. Wow you are putting in a long session. You go in the lodge at all or sit in your car or go to buffet?
  14. Less wind should be pleasent.
  15. Y'all had good seats.
  16. Nice sunset from two nights ago.
  17. Edge was asking about Camelback.
  18. I think she was gonna make one last effort at the ski shop at Blue mountain to see if they had a solution..still sucks but at least free shipping
  19. Wouldn't they have a tool box with some additional screws? We have that at work as we often screw on final death tabs on bronze markers and they sometimes get stripped or other screw issues so we keep backup of different sized screws..
  20. Gosh I post that I ate a hot dog 🌭 and I get a reply in 6 minutes lol so sad.
  21. Please post updates!!! People today at Blue were wondering how Camelback was.
  22. QFT im sick of telling that story and Root tells it better than me!!!
  23. Yup they actually filmed some parts of the movie the Goonies on the back side of Bear Creek(was Doe mountain at the time) and in the Olde city neighborhood of Philadelphia as well great movie. That was back before Michael Jackson molested Corey Feldman.
  24. Two words or 100 posts anyway I hope you enjoyed the skiing today.
  25. Hey All, I'm back from a fun session at Blue mountain the true mountain. At 730AM it was around 2 degrees with 15-20mph winds actually warmer than expected. There were a lot of PASRs in the house including Atomic Jeff, Shadows, Enjorales, JFDan, Root, Ryan, Toast, Matt Edge, Johnny Law, Justo, the real KT, T maki, skier112, Indiggio, mbikeMike, Mrs Snowbunski and many others. As always the gates opened before the liftees got ok but first chair was had. I had a very nice first run on Razors before it was closed to the race team was between hardpack and aoftpack not bad challenge was good for run number two followed by nightmare to dreamweaver which was even better. Run number four usually would be sidewinder which was closed with five groomers grooming out the new blown snow compete with a winch cat Swithback was pretty good and I skied that three times total. It as a bit of a wind tunnel so I tucked the top half befor the two big turns. I didnt ski lazy mile because I heard it wasn't that good then back to nightmare dreamweaver and another challenge run which was still pretty nice and then we waited 2-3 minutes at the rope drop for sidewinder and high tailed it down and it was like Toasts favorite Katie perry song hot and cold. Some good areas and some bad. I skied another sidewinder run with matt edge behind shadows and hit the fresh manmade pow under the lift on the left side near the bottom. My feet ended up frozen everything else was ok and it took some effort to get boots off. I had some beers in the lot and thought about going back out with a few PASRs but my boots were solid as a rock and I got some really nice cord and empty runs today and will be back tomorrow. The ambient temperature will be colder initially but less wind
