  1. Stowe is still cool sucks that it's farther away than Jackson hole and Colorado at least travel time and crowded and usually icy and expensive.
  2. Great answers from everybody!!!!
  3. Kids in Pennsylvania only have off yesterday for Presidents' Day so crowds should be light especially with how warm it is. I'll be up Thursday late morning or early afternoon to enjoy the 70 degree weather.
  4. Most definitely was just thinking that. Camelback does a similar amount of skier visits as Stowe..somewhere in the 400-500k per year range. I don't believe the indoor water park was part of the resort sale that was built later at a cost in the hundreds of millions. Camelback lodge and indoor waterpark was $170 million. I'm actually gonna stay at the Kallahari resort in April going there for a convention.
  5. Camelback was $69 million. http://www.firsttracksonline.com/2013/10/10/pennsylvanias-camelback-ski-resort-is-sold-for-69-25m/
  6. Not good cause on weekends and holidays that's when TNT is at Blue and his vegetarian daughter doesn't like their fries. Boom maybe we can grill this weekend. Atomic Jeff can bring the buns lol
  7. I know the demographics at Blue and I know which people I skied with growing up who no longer ski. You're lucky you're from Northampton. There's something in the water that has people skiing for a long time. I think the ski club starts in 4th grade there.
  8. It's funny I don't care either way...but I love the drama on here and on Facebook.
  9. Interesting you should ask on their Facebook. I'm sure one of the blue representatives will get back to you in a day or two.
  10. Blue will never turn into a young adult hangout spot. It's mostly older folks who are there midweek..the baby boomers who aren't yet retired like nastar Glenn and Slim and company are there weekend mornings. Not many young adults at blue and reason being is because most young adults are broke as shit and swamped with college loans so aren't skiing or vacationing much.
  11. Yeah plus the ski team kids get 10% off food. Those racer kids always had a sense of entitlement. And if you are a skier and want to have kids who are also skiers you either have to make good money or be like Ski2Live and hunt for coupons and deals. I don't envy you parents. Seems expensive and a lot of work. If I had kids I probably wouldnt be able to retire till I'm 60.
  12. What a bargain..I think camelback went for more than that. http://www.tetongravity.com/story/news/breaking-vail-buys-stowe-for-50-million
  13. Blue needs a better cafeteria at the top lodge. It's very inefficient. Most ski areas have different stations to get different food and no real waiting. Enjorales mentioned people with receipts waiting for items to come up. That's a big reason that I don't get food there. I've gone to get lunch on an uncrowded weekday in the top and was packed cause all the employees get free or cheap meals. Skiing is not a hassle just eat on the way up...on the way home or pack some Pocket snacks for the lift or snacks for your car. Do movie theaters allow people to bring in outside food? Do roller rinks? Bowling alleys? Most amusement parks?? I'd like to check out the Lehigh valley Grand Prix do you think they mind if I bring a peanut butter and pickle sang and some Pringles and a mello yellow and park my ass at a table. This really is a socioeconomic issue?!?!?!?
  14. Well it's not affecting business. Snow tubing is already sold out today and Thursday. Wow just wow. Make that Johnny Cash!!!
  15. TP4 I saw you bring your Sheetz coffee on the six pack. Such a badass
  16. Oh well this new policy doesn't affect any of us...
  17. Looks like they blew snow snow in tubing and in homestretch
  18. Soul patch for lyfe!!!
  19. So many nooks and crannies down there.
  20. What kind of actual lodge stuff?? I think the lodge is done. What you see is what you get. The lower lodge is massive.
  21. So people at bear creek didn't follow the rules?? I saw that on Facebook. I still don't get why they couldn't have eaten the donuts on the drive up same with enjorales he can drink his red bull on the way up not when he's booting up inside the lodge.
  22. Plenty of non wealthy people who are avid skiers they just have to prioritize what they spend their money on. Due to the high cost of snowmaking I don't see local ski areas ever being that reasonably priced but the $449 season pass is a deal and a half. What percentage of people who buy single day tickets at blue do you think buy food? I'm thinking at least 50% probably closer to 100% of the buses of school kids that come up. When I used to go up in middle school for night skiing with the ski club we were told to bring money for supper. Otherwise if you packed you'd have to use a locker an extra time to retrieve your food and yes I was a gaper back then and always got a locker for my boot bag and sneakers.
  23. Outside food is allowed on Trumps plane... They should make people boot up at their cars. No street shoes inside the lodge. And blues lodges are among the few that allow skis inside the lodge.
