  1. Wow Comrade Ski lol....I love paying 3-4 months salary every year to a giant Abyss...not....
  2. You could probably do warehouse work for a few bucks an hour more than that.
  3. As was said before maybe get a second job.
  4. How do you have money for food and staying at the hotel Bethlehem and stuff if nothing left over for you. You should give yourself some sort of a draw every month...could be $1,000 a month whatever otherwise you are working for free. By business income paying the bills do you mean your living expenses or business bills?
  5. You make $1300 a month or the business makes $1300 a month. If you are making $1300 a month profit in the first year that's not bad. What's a normal adult salary?
  6. We pay $480 a month for our accountant...
  7. I like haggling on hotel rooms...saving money is the same thing as making money. When my customers wanna wheel and deal I make concessions as I'd be a hypocrite not to since I love wheeling and dealing. One of our suppliers we do $100,000 in business with always gave us a 15% discount well now if we pay in 15 days instead of 30 days they give us a 17% discount..$2,000 a year savings by writing checks 15 days earlier is well worth it.
  8. You only pay taxes or profit which is your income...you don't pay tax on revenues. That 30% figure probably includes, state, local, federal, Medicare, social security and misc. If we have a real profitable year this time of year we spend a lot of money...prepay on foundations, order more granite, buy lots of stamps and office supplies we'll need and whatever we can to lessen the tax burdens. High taxes kill small businesses. I'm hoping Trumps tax plan improves this situation. A good accountant will show as small of a profit as possible. Last year our truck depreciation was $25k...this year it's $15k so with the same level of business and expenses I already know profit is $10k higher which means taxes are an extra $3-$4k without doing anything.
  9. Interesting I was just looking at maps didn't realize how close Greek peak is to Syracuse. I like doing cost benefit analysis. It's cool to visually how much money your time is worth. Like the kids who camp out all night when a new chic fil A opens up as the reward for being the first 100 or so is a free combo meal a week for a year which has a value of about $350
  10. Wow MBike mile posts over there. So a foot is forecast for Greek peak this weekend?? Tully NY is 24 miles past Greek peak. Would you drive an extra 48 miles for a $5 lift ticket??
  11. You're in the minority with that thinking. Needy people already get free food, cheap housing, free money, free public education, nearly free higher education and job training. Most poors are poor for a reason...they're either dim, lazy or both. I've always been for a flat income tax. Steve Forbes proposed a flat tax back in the 90s. Let's say the flat tax rate is 20% above income over $20,000 a year...poor people don't have to pay federal income tax and now they basically get back most of what they pay in. If you make $50,000 a year you pay 20% above $20,000 or $6,000 you make $100,000 a year you're gonna pay $16,000...the wealthy are still gonna pay a much greater share of taxes than the poor but it's not as great of a burden. If you bust ass to become a lawyer why should you have to pay such a high percentage in taxes. While lazy people who work at McDonald's pay almost no tax. Lame.
  12. 40% is for wealthy people with no write offs. Mine isn't quite that high as I'm in a middle class tax bracket. If you don't like taxation move to Dubai and ski in the mall..no income tax over there. I accept taxes just like I accept absurdly high insurance premiums.
  13. If you don't care about the waterpark you stay somewhere with no waterpark. I believe there's a Hampton inn or holiday inn express by the crossings. Or stay in a bed and breakfast. That new camelback resort seems geared towards families not 20 and 30 something couples on a romantic getaway. I wonder if there's still places in the poconos with heart shaped jacuzzis and mirrors on the ceilings. I believe Ceasars pocono resort. What about mount airy casino? I bet the hotel rooms there are around $150 a night.
  14. That's a darn good price if that includes use of the waterpark and for being slopeside
  15. Oh wait is PA Ridge a New England Patties fan?
  16. How much are the rooms?? I don't think families who are into an indoor waterpark want luxury like the hotel Bethlehem or the grand Hyatt in NYC..I've stayed at the wilderness lodge at Disney world and its like $500 a night and rooms are basic but they have buckbeds for the kids just like the great wolf indoor water park.
  17. Most people don't care about having a fancy car I know I don't. Plus ski2live has two kids to pay for and alimony. Doubt that. Not in jersey right outside NYC. But remember people in that tax bracket are paying over 40% between state and federal taxes.
  18. The kid is smart for choosing to be a fan of a good team.
  19. The Mexicans are better at making chocolate.
  20. Yes!!! Unless it's a Vista only opening then I'll be at work filing papers.
  21. Yeah but you weren't a shooby.. I'm mostly in northwest NJ and that area is like a less developed Poconos.
  22. I'm ready to pull into the lot and see this guy!!! And see everything through Rose colored lenses.
