I just heard on the news that Sno Mountain is suing Washo for delaying the sale and defaming the company.

Sno Mountain LLC is suing minority Lackawanna County Commissioner Mike Washo, saying he has interfered with its contract to buy Montage Mountain Ski Area and also defamed the firm and its president.

Hahahahahahahahahhahahahah!!!!!!

I F*CKING LOVE SNO MOUNTAIN!

It's good, yes. It's a typical counter-suit with nothing out of the ordinary. Best line was Cordaro saying Washo "lies all the time".

Stupidest line: "Balderdash," cried Washo. Who the f*ck says balderdash?

Thanks, Pyro, I had missed this story. You can call elected or appointed public officials names, but you can't just be calling private citizens "crooks" without facing repercussions.

Oh, and according to a typical insurance policy that covers county commisioners, they are NOT automatically covered if they commit slander. The idea is that if a public official commits a crime, they are on their own.

Washo says he isn't impressed? I bet the f*cker is looking back over every transcript to see what he really said.

Hope you have some sleepless nights, Mike.

The lawsuit by Sno Mountain shut the mouths of the Times-Tribune editorial staff. It's next to impossible to sue a newspaper, especially with things printed on the editorial pages, but the lawsuit pointed out----CORRECTLY---that Washo was making slanderous statements and the T-T was printing them in stories and agreeing with them in editorials.

All of the land was included in the appraisal, yet here is the Times-Tribune headline from August 19:

"Appraisal left out land"

Dead f*cking wrong.

And the commissioners voted to give Cordaro the authority to negotiate the deal, which he did. Then the T-T editorial staff agrees with Washo that it was "shady" and "illegal".

Dead f*cking wrong.

The important case is to be heard Wednesday. That's when a Bucks County judge will be in Lackawanna to hear it. A court case like this is decided with a judges opinion. It's really a crapshoot, even though the facts are pretty clearly in favor of Sno Mountain.

Mr. Carlson and the rest of the Sno Mountain group really has no interest in suing anyone. They have a signed contract dated July 10 to purchase Montage for a price and stipulations that far exceed the value of the property. They want to do something great and Washo has done everything in his power to ruin the deal.

Consider: the developer that joined in Washo's lawsuit was a prior rejected buyer because he had nowhere near enough money. So this developer hopes for what? To spoil the deal that would bring a $5.1 sale and $20 million in improvements, so he can buy it for $4 million, with no upgrades?

Maybe the Times-Tribune editorial staff should spend some time looking into THAT. Why would Washo want to sell to a local developer that has no money? Talk about something that stinks of a back room deal.

The Times-Tribune Managing Editor has run his paper into tremendous financial problems...so much so that they had to stop publishing an entire daily edition and lay-off nearly half the staff. Pathetic. They should do their homework and stop preaching from their run down cubicles---or simply shut the fuck up.
