  1. Agreed...Pow does suck I'm sure they will groom everything since they don't have the whole mountain open. I would say there is a very very very outside chance that they would leave Marjies ungroomed...but that has to be like 1% as Jeff said before....Everything else will be groomed, unless there groomers all blow up tonight...
  2. Not quite... I am saying that when you buy from a shop there are advantages: *You know exactly what you are coming home with, as you have picked it up and paid for it *You can talk to people if you have questions *Assuming its an autrhorized dealer (which more are if they sell new skis) if you break your skis then you can have them send it back to the compainy and get a replacement. *You know your gear will come (if you picked it up, you don't need to worry about someone not sending it) Unless you are buying tons of stuff from a ski shop, or know someone on the inside, then it probably is cheaper to go on Ebay...If you don't need any of the above mentioned things. I have broken a pair of skis I bought on Ebay...SOL for me, but if I got them at a shop they would have been replaced.
  3. Ebays got some good stuff, and so do shops. But shops have info, and gear that you can look at, touch, and really understand what someone is saying (assuming the salesperson knows what there talking about). There are good and bad shops, and good and bad Ebay sellers, nothing is perfect.
  4. No need to turn it into a flame fest...We all know skiers are better than boarders Haha, seriously tho, thanks for the compliments...we wish we stuck a sticker on your windshild earlier too
  5. Sounds like Rob found someone to buy fencing for the CB race team...so we can have a race on Cliffy this year (new USSA reg says all GS trails must be fenced top to bottom, both sides)....Anyway, we can hope. I really wouldn't care if it was out of the goodness of there heart, the advertising, or the love of the sport...If someone was going to buy some fencing, I might even go down and visit them Hypotheticly, of course
  6. Well I would like to say I got some Tecnica race boots, for 250ish (retail is around 700-800) from A SHOP. It was a demo shop, but that pair of boots was not demoed by anyone by myself, and maybe 2 or 3 other people. Basicly new. As it has been said before, and will be said again, Ebay has its place, and so do shops. Gotta know when to go to which one.
  7. By 5 or 530 (I think our district says they will announce a closing atleast 2 hrs prior to when school should start) there won't be much snow it sounds like. By 730 (when HS starts) or by 9 (when elem. school starts) there may be a lot more snow. I'm hoping tonight they will just deside to scrap it for tomorrow...And I can go skiing
  8. I'm gonna have to go with '999 on this one. If you break the turns for SL and GS, (and play them at the same speed, taking away the gates) then your turns should look very similar.
  9. No blowing on the East side yet... Bummer

    Hey CB

Maybe a 1 hr delay I might get lucky...who knows

    Hey CB

If he is, he better pick me up on the way. But I ALWAYS have school when it snows...stupid who*es

    Hey CB

Ohh yeah, the one that is a Xcountry trail for 1/2 a mile?
  13. No points for J4s...As long as he does pretty well in races I know if there is any qualification for his age group (not sure if there is or not) but if he skis like he skis, he will get in them no problem.

    Hey CB

They didn't say it was opening on there list of trails...But it shouldn't take long to make snow on it...
  15. Its not that I'm sick of it...And I will be out in it. Its just a matter of having more fun in hardpack. Powder doesn't do much for me, possibly because I sink right into it (65mm waist isn't very good in it. Its good to train in all conditions, but its just not as much fun. Anyway, I'll see everyone out there saturday.
  16. I have an instructor friend (whos not on this board) but she will be there too

    The loft

Who know...New boots now. Got my footbeds in them, and no major problems. Want to wait and see what hurts after a few days in a row on snow before I get any work done. Anyway, who needs ski shops anyway
  18. But in SL you can see Jeff's head on the gates, and lean way on the inside to punch the gates
  19. All I know is I had my best race when I was not thinking about anything. I felt like crap going down, thought I had a really slow/ugly run, and I felt like I was in the backseat teh whole time. A coach midway down the course loved the run, and all my coaches loved the time (about 2 seconds off the leader, insted of the usual 23) I actully thought the 42.63 or w/e was actully a 52.63 and just a typo. Anyway, getting to the point, you can practice hard doing lots of stuff, but just do what works for you, and think about what could be faster, then go from there. Anyway do you race freerid?
  20. PICK ME, PICK ME haha I'll be around there somewhere. So will Papasteeze and his lil runts

    Hey CB

Cept NBC controls the cam. Its possible CB called them up, and we can hope! Atleast they have good weather now
  22. I have noticed that too, just too lazy to post about it. The 2nd or 3rd picture down links to the one below it, and has for a while. Someone at CB should switch it to link to the correct picture. Also whats up with the guns? Lets get some going on atleast rocket...
  23. Yes I have skied both hardpack, and powder. I don't turn by throwing my weight on my outside ski, but if I saw a rock 10 feet infront of me, I would be able to do that to get around it, in pow, as you said I would be on my ass. I prefer to think of just bringning your outside hip up and forward while you ski, which keeps your outside ski parrallel, insted of trying to think of keeping the ski parralle to keep the outside hip foward. Anyway, I'll just hate on pow a little more...<hating on pow> Possible, but won't work nearly as well as saturday morning after they groom it all out and have it packed down.
  24. You mean the 16th
  25. Packed pow does...Fluffy pow won't really let you turn hard enough to really cover them
