  1. Have you ever tried to turn very quickly in powder? Didn't go to well I bet. Can't throw the weight on the outside ski and crank the turn in pow..

    Hey CB

Whats the 12th one they are blowing on to try and open it? Rocket would be nice (but I don't see that happening)
  3. Last year they had the 4 PA Cups and a regional qualifier (least for most places) CB's regional qualifyer (and blues, and bb/forst's) was the SL at frost.

    The loft

But how is that any different from me bring my boots I bought out at Mt. Hood to them and telling them I needed some adjustments? (all they did was put a MASSIVE heal lift in...more than in inch) That didn't do too much for me accept make the tops of my feet hurt (but my toes didn't hurt anymore) Just seems like "we will make adjustments on the boots for a year after you buy them here to make them feel better" Does that mean I can't bring in other boots (or the boots I bought there over a year ago) in to get bootwork done? Not having enough staff, and having too many people pushing stuff on you...No one likes either of those. The best would be having the staff numbers of Nestors and then when they come over to ask if you need help (which is nice to know they are there and willing to help) if you say your just looking, and will let them know if you need help, if they then went away for a little. Its nice to see that they are willing to spend money on always having people around to help, but I'm gonna have to bring some mase if I go there again
  5. Pow does suck...You can go fast, but you will never be able to go as fast (or be in as much control) as when you are on hardpack...
  6. Jamie, don't worry I'm going to all of them. Just takes something away when you don't actully have to try to make finals
  7. Amen to that
  8. Jeff just thinks he has connections... Like I said before, I have yet to see a PASR link on there site

    The loft

I got some boots there and "they guarenteed that they would fit, and if they didn't I could bring them back in the next year and they would make adjustments" They left out the part where "I would have to pay for everything they did"....Didn't seem very nice, but whatever...I have a new pair of boots and they should last me 2 or 3 seasons. Just like everyone, we all have good and bad experiances at cetrain shops/areas. I like the loft, and don't like Nestors as much, but they all have good/bad parts...Just expressing my opinion here.

I don't like Nestors so much cause I'll go in there and have 3 sales people jump on me and start trying to sell me skis, which if they ever took the time they would realize I don't really want atomic C8s or w/e....Somehow saying "I'm just looking, and I will let you know if I have any questions" doesn't work too well with them. But then again, when I go in to look, I'm just looking, and I usually know what I'm looking for. Most of the time I just go in to browse, and see if there are any killer deals around. Maybe a little small talk with other people around there. I don't go to try and be pushed to buy skis that aren't even right for me.

    SWEEEEEEEEET

I have to go see him this weekend too. I have to have him look at something on one of my bindings, plus just say hi to him for the season. Rob, I'm sure you will get to know him real quick.
  12. Nahh thats no fun...Speed skating is too much like running, and luge, well I will just drive with Jeff...
  13. Insane, probably... spandex wearing, close enough...live a little, hardpack is the only way to go. Its so much faster, and well, faster. You feel so much better ripping an uber high speed turn over that than you do floating over powder. Powder is ok if its dry, and your just free skiing...But I would still take hardpack over it.
  14. I hate pow...Way too hard to race or train in...Well it doesn't matter what I want, any skiing is better than none, gotta take what I can.

    SWEEEEEEEEET

Brad Sweney works at the loft? I know him as Brad (so If were talking about a different guy, lemme know). I would say Mark is the best ski repair guy, and Brad (tho I haven't had much done with him) is the best boot guy around But if you ever run out onto a problem on the hill Mark will help you out, and knows how to get the quick fixes so you can finish your day skiing. He also knows how to get the long term fixes, to save your gear. If you don't know him, and ski CB alot...He is deffinatly a good guy to get to know!!!

    Hey CB

Unless the 1/2 pipe is its own trial now, I only count 11 trails. Maybe you should start blasting on rocket to make your 12 trail!!!! I look again, are you counting the 1/2 pipe as a trail? Now CB has 34 trails everyone!!!
  20. It was a sweet day, and you get to see the ski area from someone elses eyes. Anyway hopefully sometime I can shadow him again or someone else, when the season is in full swing. Thats what they tell me...
  21. How does shy and spending the day with the general manager of a ski area have anything to do with eachother?
  22. I'm going to refer you guys to my post in the Opening day topic...I was at BC today spending the day with the GM there (THANKS MARK!!!)
  23. I was there today for Job shadowing...And I heard Thus/Fri/Sat...Tho Friday came up the most for opening day, so my money is on that. The mountain is looking very nice and snow covered, and they plan to open with all by one trail (the one trail on the far right of the trailmap will be closed)
  24. Cat team=PASEF Penn. Alpine Ski educational foundation=nonprofit Its allows you to do all the cool things you see on the WC runs Not sure it is nessisary for CB, but if anyone wants to be able to write off 3k on there taxes....Were all over it
  25. For the first time in a while I looked at the forcast, and was very happy...Should be more or less round the clock snowmaking for the next week or so
