I try to get up to CB for friday nights...Not sure if Mum is going to be able to get up there that much this season for the friday nights...But if she does, I'll be around.

Nile will open on friday (which means there won't be any death cookies on it saturday)...Raceway will open saturday I think. No snow being blown on pharow or cliff, tho the bottom 1/2 of pharow is having snow made on it.

Don't know about you guys...But I'm looking forward to a week at CB after Xmas!!!! (with maybe 2 days at mountain creek for a race) -
Yeah, they are opening raceway this weekend, but I am 90% sure that there will not be enough snow to set any gates on it, nor with the whole width of the trail be opened. Sometime around Xmas sounds about right

I didn't think he ever knew

I was thinking she should for-run swain/brantling...and mountain creek But luckily for us the stupid powder at CB by the end of the day was in a few piles, with some nice hardpack in the middle
-
Haha I saw them waiting for people and stuff...I even saw a patroler on a closed section between meadows and the bottom of marjies

I can't speak for Mary, or Bear Creek, but... I know most ski areas in the North east use "Area use tickets" insted of "lift tickets." The differnce being lift tickets give you accsess to the lifts, and area use tickets give you access to the trails/lifts/snow.... I think out west they have laws protecting ski areas if you are stupid and hurt yourself when you ski...Where places like PA don't have that many, which is why resorts around here require tickets when your there. A lot of places have beginnner lift tickets, which I believe Bear Creek had, but I could be mistaken. They just let you on the lower mountain lifts. Anyway, it sucks whenever anyone has a bad day of skiing or riding anywhere. If I were you I would call up Bear Creek and ask to speak to Mary (I think her number was up in the post above) or Mark. I have met both of them, and I know they DO NOT like when people don't have a good time at there mountain

Yeah I know, so is this. Davey K is going back to CB to give out free cheeseburgers

I was at CB this weekend, and the snow was pretty soft. Our house had about 16 inches of snow on the back pourch (level, not wind blown) after everything stopped snowing on friday. Well as I said before the snow was soft and powdery both days. By the end of today you could see some hardpack being shown on the middle of marjies. They are blowing on Nile, Raceway, Rodo (maybe) and some other random trails (not pharow/cliffy) The rangers were working overtime yesterday trying to catch people poaching runs down all the closed trails, which was funny, cause if CB blew snow on them for like 1/2 a day and groomed, there would have been enough to open all of them. Every closed trail has atleast 20 different tracks down it. Saw a bunch of PASR people (and even some PASR stickers)...Hope everyone has fun! More cold temps this week to blow snow
-
This is probably true... Also CB has about 12039403952 different plans for what they want to do for winter and summer....Everything from putting another quad in to putting a full mountain waterslide in....I would start to believe it when you see it being built, or when they come out wiht a press release....

She did, and it sounds like it was just like Blue...went from pow to piles of pow...to 'they better groom tonight'

Not sure where this stuff is useful, but I'll throw it out there anyway. It costs a ski compainy about $150 in parts/labor to make a pair of skis. But then you also have those nice ads in ski mags, shipping charges...all that other stuff and I believe they sell them for aboue $300 a pair...
