  1. I think I'll just ski one mountain per trip, especially with every mountain having different rules and hoops to jump through now. Last year I loved every minute of Steamboat and never even remotely got bored, and it was nice having time to thoroughly learn the layout of the mountain.
  2. Im going to start planning my trip for early March now. Snowbird's website looks really nice, I think I'll go there. TFTI
  3. So if I have to wear the facemask, even when riding the lift alone, and skiing alone, and pissing alone, will I be allowed to wear my ski mask (with tiny holes for breathing) over it to stay warm? They might say, "oh but your mask has holes in it", then I'll have to keep saying "oh but there's another mask thing underneath". Also, I dont know if I can tolerate double masking.
  4. Anytime! @GrilledSteezeSandwich is slipping since I beat him to it this year.
  5. Frost tonight. Bring in your tropical plants and pets.
  6. I want to do the non stop flight from London to Australia. @AtomicSkier gets middle seat between us. We can play tag the whole 22 hour flight like in Dumb and Dumber.
  7. Thanks for the invitation.
  8. @GrilledSteezeSandwich has been to every Blue Mountain in the world according to Facebook
  9. Liftopia is optional to save money if it works for me that day. It's not by any means restrictive like this new reservation crap. E.g. if Liftopia is sold out, I can still ski by paying full price. Now, if {insert resort name} is sold out, I'm not skiing there period.
  10. I found this on Google regarding Liftopia: "all purchases on Liftopia are final and cannot be cancelled, refunded, changed or transferred. While we know this is rigid, the purchase restrictions are what allow us to sell lift tickets at a low price". I haven't seen any exception for when a resort closes. I've had good luck with it and used it in the past. I dont think I bought a pass I didnt use, but if I did it was probably $20 or something. I'd imagine the credit card company would side with Liftopia since you're agreeing to their policy when you buy the tickets.
  11. Thanks. I tried finding the fine print just for fun but their Buy Now buttons don't work on my 'puter. The format looks the same as Liftopia which has the absolute nonrefundable policy. So I'm wondering if this is the same? Doesnt matter if it's sunny and 70, frozen over in ice, tornado, power outage, bigfoot invasion - no refunds ever with Liftopia.
  12. I thought you're saving your buddy pass for @Ski2Live Live2Ski ???
  13. What is a Root Friday? Isn't it called Black Friday? So if someone buys a ticket today and there's no snow/cold weather, they lose their money and don't get to ski? I used Liftopia and this appears to be the same type of deal, except this is way, way too far out to be gambling on the weather.
  14. If reservations become the norm in the years to come, I'll deal with it by taking my season pass $ to the resort with the least amount of BS. Right now Blue is doing well for us so I'm not going anywhere.
  15. If (hypothetically) we have the ability to cancel even a limited number of reservations without a penalty then it's probably not that big of a deal. If it reduces crowds, that's a bonus. If it saves them $ so they can blow more Perder, that's another bonus. The biggest annoyance will be possibly not being allowed to ski on short notice... that would suck since sometimes I like to do things spur of the moment.
  16. I'm dealing with it by not dealing with it 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️👍
  17. I'm not even going to try to figure this crap out. I'll just ski at Blue and 1 other place this winter, maybe Utah, and then I'll just have to do the stupid reservation thing once this season. Hopefully no more reservations next season. Reservations in general annoy me due to being obligated to do x at time y. I just wanna do what ever I wanna do.
  18. If Blue implemented a reservation system, I'd reserve every single timeslot of every single day so I have the season pass benefits I've had in all previous years, and those I'm entitled to as a special snowflake millenial. Haters gonna hate hate hate @toast21602 @GrilledSteezeSandwich
  19. Hope everything's O.K.
  20. You don't sound like an idiot at all. To me they look like narrow Apollo space capsules 🤷‍♀️
  21. That's pretty rad. I haven't seen a cactus like that in the wild. I've been to UT, northern AZ, Monument Valley, and NV. But lots of Joshua Trees.... Joshua Trees everywhere
  22. Cities are hell. With virtual working so common now, and no social events allowed indefinitely, seems like there's zero benefit to living in a city.
  23. In the woods. Cross country skiing. No lines, no masks, no reservations. Just silence, snow covered trees, and limitless fresh untracked Perder.
  24. No one's ever called me neurotic before. TFTI. A former internship guy called me a caricature of myself. I didn't know what it meant, but my friends assured me it wasn't a good thing. I still don't know what it means.
