  1. Only $70 for a weekend ticket. So cheap! If you bring a Pinata I'll fill it with Fruit by the Foots and Captain Wafers. Are you available February 32nd?
  2. According to Facebook comments, whichever water slide was under the Sullivan Lift - although from my recollection it was actually an old alpine slide, so not really sure...
  3. Camelback has just shocked the civilized world with a surprise announcement that there is ANOTHER new trail coming soon! A Double Black Diamond underneath the Sullivan chair! Unbelievable, wow! Rumor has it they may even upgrade it to Triple Black Diamond status (JK). Sounds like they removed an old water park slide to make room for the new trail, so take that all you Camelback hate-ahs.
  4. I was at the very restaurant that inspired the song, AND I literally ate a cheeseburger IN paradise, yet I still have no idea what the song sounds like. I wonder if I've heard it before??? I'll look it up on YouTube late tonight.

Cant wait to ski True Mountain the Blue Mountain this weekend. Wonder how the conditions are despite the rain, ice, sleet, hail??
  6. Wow I normally wouldn't do middle seat but it would be legendary to sit between two PASR legends. Hypothetically if I was on a United 737 from JAC to EWR there's a chance I may pay a few bucks extra for that coveted middle seat.
  7. Saw A-10s over Hazleton a few times... many, many years ago. I very rarely see any military aircraft doing exercises over PA these days.
  8. I had no idea about Air Force One doing touch and goes there. I was certain I saw Air Force One over the Harrisburg area off I-81 several years ago, but the president wasn't in town... maybe it was afterall...
  9. I wonder if there are more flights on flightradar24, or more ships on marinetraffic. Anyone care to count? At least two flights headed to AVP were diverted to IAD (Dulles), and one flight inbound from ATL turned back. Doesn't look like any planes were diverted to MDT (Harrisburg) despite the runway being available and not iced up.
  10. It's actually diverting to Washington Dulles, wow. Runways are icy in Harrisburg also according to air traffic control.
  11. When I was younger I was really into aviation. Not as much anymore, but I'll get into it every now and then when I fly. Reinstalled Flight Simulator X and made a couple flights... though I have to speed up the simulation rate during the boring parts.
  12. On my way to Yellowstone I almost got the window seat when they rebooked me to Dallas. Before boarding I asked if there were any seats available, and they said "we have the perfect aisle seat for you", it was next to the restroom. Once I boarded I realized they were being a smart-ass, but still better than middle seat. I've yet to get the middle seat.
  13. Kept hearing a plane overhead so checked flightradar24. Looks like this plane is not going to Wilkes-Barre but is diverting to Harrisburg. That really sucks for them.
  14. Nice pic. I always make sure to get a window seat without the wing obstruction, and also on the side not facing the sun.
  15. The upper lodge is nicer than the lower lodge, but I started parking in the lower lot so I don't have to stand around in ski boots while conversing with Steeze et. al.
  16. Damnit I just missed the cutoff for entering. Hopefully next year.
  17. Red Lion Inn by the airport was pretty rad. There was a MacDonalds nearby so I was able to eat some chicken tendies prior to repacking my boots and RTMs for the long flight. I really enjoyed the flight and looked out the window the entire time, 95% of the flight was clear skies which is pretty rare. I saw the great cities of Omaha, Des Moines, Davenport, Fort Wayne, Indiana PA, Altoona, and Hershey. It was sick.
  18. Looks like you're getting dumped on. This is the week I was supposed to go to Stowe, except I had to go to jury duty for 3 hours which was a complete waste of time. Enjoy the powder!
  19. Second tracks are pretty good too. Almost just as good.
  20. You'll probably think this is lame but I usually sit in the lodge until 10 minutes before first chair. Now granted most of the time there's hardly anyone in line. On post powder day I stayed in the lodge too long, like 15 minutes prior and that's how I got #50.
  21. I was maybe 50th in line for Winter Park the day after powder day. Wanted a sick deep powder first run but took a wrong turn and ended up doing a groomed run. But it's all good in the hood, I got plenty of foot deep runs the prior day.
  22. I didn"t even want to stand in line for more than 10-15 minutes. First run is overrated.
