  1. I live pretty frugally and would continue to so. It would be a hobby as I tend to agree it would be a tough business model. One of the reasons I got out to Big Snow as I don’t think it’s sustainable. I’m rooting for them but with the big energy cost increases I think they have a tough road.
  2. More like buy Blue Mountain and put a dome over all the slopes for year round skiing 💪🏼
  3. Are you talking about Geothermal or something else ? I watched a Youtube video where someone built a box around there outdoor Minisplit section and buried corrugated pipe and used fans to circulate air underground. Interesting concept but I'm not sure if the piping would fill up with condensation. 2011 I went Geo after getting a 4K oil bill when oil price spiked. I kept my boiler for backup and domestic hot water.
  4. Bear Creek had everything lit up , It looked like a Blizzard. Pretty strong wind blowing hopefully it goes where they want it to.
  5. They are open tomorrow ......somehow .
  6. How much are you paying for KWH ? So you made out by using electric heaters , it could have been worse.
  7. Or shut off your money like Canada did with the truckers protest. I hit Plattekill on storm Riley. Their CC system was down and all the other Catskills areas were out of power If you didn’t have cash you were “Denied “ to quote Suzee Orman . It was painful watching people turn away from 45” snowfall.
  8. Word is they’re shooting to re open Sunday
  9. The ride down 89A through Oak Creek canyon is tough to keep focused on the road as there’s so many sights to see. Have fun!

  11. The last two lift poles on the Gondi line are freaking high . Pucker factor on the first chair ride ( Chondola ) Glad you got the goods!
  12. Wow , it’s worth a trip to see the difference even if you go for Dinner and not ski . The lodge is top notch and I think they added some trails since then . And added hotel rooms. I think they get around $300.00 night . Every so often they let a trail bump up . It’s a good place for beginners. I haven’t been there to often even though it’s not far.
  13. I’m assuming you meant me . Yup ,first job although I can’t complain about an unrestricted season pass for $75.00
  14. One lift spinning. Not sure if they’ll be open till 9
  15. Sounds like you’re really going to luck out. The gondola was closed again today. The upper part of the mountain will be untouched. Flagstaff, such a cool town I wouldn’t mind living there. I have a friend that goes out every summer. He was raving about a Mexican restaurant he found , turned out I stopped there too “ Salsa Brava “ Pictures please!
  16. I’m happy about that in a selfish way I had an invite for tomorrow but was going to bail because of the rain .
  17. https://nyskiblog.com/forum/threads/flagstaff-conditions.1172/page-12 Crazy busy day
  18. I’ve been doing a bunch of night sessions as Jr doesn’t have his license . Took tonight off sort of. Air red and I had some food and a drink in the Bar by the pool. We wanted to go for a walk at the Velodrome paths but the weather was crappy so after eating we walked around the hotel and conference center. It’s amazing , I didn’t know that there was an indoor pool as well in the lower level. All in all a very impressive hotel. Did 4k steps according to my health ap .
  19. I’ve had that scenario before it’s usually high noon. 🤠
  20. Dumping…… Gondola not spinning ? Lines are crazy.
  21. Nice fast mashed potatoes last night . More crowded than Wednesday night but a much neater crowd as they didn't leave behind as much trash in the lodge. Most runs were on Extreme and a few on Samsquantch
