  1. I dropped mine off last week when I dropped off kids boots for the sale. Picked them up yesterday. They did a decent job.
  2. My buddies call that condition “Swamp Ass” Been a bad summer for that. Glad it’s over! Stoked for winter but not too soon. October snow seems to be a bad omen.
  3. http://www4.northampton.edu/kmanna/WM_Web/index.htm Thought that the tradition was over. I don’t always enjoy the films but good for stoke either way.
  4. Speaking of skis my new “Old “ skis showed up yesterday. I found another pair of 2007 Rossi B2’s They were in someone’s closet and only used twice! Absolutely pristine except for a small base scratch. Some ptex and a base grind and good to go. This will be my third pair. I snapped the first pair in half bailing on a bump line when someone cut in front of me at Blue years ago. A very deep icy mogul trough . I hate buying a new unfamiliar ski because on occasion I’m disappointed. I’ve bought a lot of ski’s over the years. My dissatisfaction percentage is maybe 20% So I’ve been hunting down a model that skis well for me. When does Blue open their shop?
  5. Paw paw . I was at a customers home and noticed he had a pretty diverse garden. I noticed a paw paw tree and started a conversation about them as I recently came across a YouTube video. I had heard that they were indigenous to Pa. but have never come across any in all my years running around the woods. He gave me a few and I must say they are really tasty, almost a tropical vibe, surprisingly like bananas and mango.
  6. Got another late invite but couldn’t make this one. One of these days I’ll get there. Sounds like you guys had a good time. 👍
  7. Thanks for the flashback. I grew up in the west end of Allentown not far from Wehrs dam. . Downstream a quarter mile was a massive sycamore tree probably 5’ in diameter. After a big storm It fell across the river. It was so massive that the river undercut the trunk and created a 10’ deep hole. The roots were about 12’ above the water. It was a freaking natural swimming hole. Had a couple good months of it till the powers that be decided it was too dangerous. They cut the trunk and the stump went back to where it started.
  8. What’s in Tamaqua ?
  9. Nice! I had an invite but couldn’t make it. Next month!
  10. Going to be an interesting evening.
  11. My oldest is in Tucson. Not as bad as Phoenix. But still who’s idea was it to build a city in the Desert?
  12. I don’t smoke and I prefer Canada doesn’t pollute my safe space with smoke. It’s the East Coast, It always rains.
  13. Would be nice if Canada gets some. Raining from the St Lawerence to Myrtle Beach
  14. Not much in the way of winds aloft so any storms that develop won’t be moving very fast.
  15. Nasty day for a hike! I went out in my yard for half an hour and had enough. Good on you!
  16. Unofficial Blueberry season total so far 14.5 gallons. I only picked about 3 . Friends and family have been busy. Picked a quart of black raspberries today. I forgot they were around and a little dry but tasty.
  17. Yes, it's lower in the valley and lots of trees around . I can't seem to come across much in the way of historic articles On Doe mtn. https://berksnostalgia.com/doe-mountain-ski-area/
  18. My curiosity got me thinking. I found this picture from a different angle but it was there but maybe smaller.
  19. I don’t remember the larger lake in the 90’s Doe mountain “ On the right “I think it might have been added when Bear Creek took over. There’s another pond north (right) of the lodge and a smaller one by the base lot. I have seen the lots filled up and shuttle buses running to the upper lots on weekends. I don’t make the effort to go when it’s that crowded.
  20. And the NY license plates. Nice hazy picture. Air Quality sucks again up to 164 I saw a bunch of pipe in the East end of the lot . I think they might be upgrading snowmaking. .
  21. Did you visit Area 52?
  22. Wow some serious storm! Also looks like Canadas still on fire coast to coast.
  23. The Smoke is back but not to the apocalyptic degree. I wanted to fly a cross country flight yesterday but turned around at Kutztown because the visibility was crap . decent day but bad in areas, later in the day things improved but still damn haze . It’s still hanging around today ☹️I hope it rains more in Canada .
  24. The dry weather didn’t stunt the blueberries just made them sweeter. Picked a gallon tonight. I interrupted a mama box turtle digging a hole.
