  1. Employees here are treated really well. paid vacations, health benefits, uniforms, tshirts, jackets, breakfast at our shop occasionally, lunch occasionally, really good Christmas bonus, and we hand out tampoons on a regular basis. Unfortunately, it seems the company makes the extra effort to make for "good moral and a happy employee is a good employee", but it doesnt always go the other way. Me personally, i would have the tractor delivered on a Saturday, so it wouldnt impact daily operations. Thats just me though. And since most are hourly employees, taking that day off impacts their paycheck, and trust me, most people i work with live week to week. We work in two different sectors. It might not be a big deal for you to take off and go ride your scooter, and you could probably even handle some work away from the office. it simply doesnt work that way in other fields. I'm sort of out of the daily operations position i was in, so i dont really have to deal with much of the personnel issues, but "rethinking staff levels" is kind of a funny term when we just simply cant hire enough people. If you happen to know anybody that has a Class A license, an operator, or just really a decent laborer with a clean driving record, let me know. Being seasonal, i can take off to go play in the snow randomly in the winter. Theres just not that much going on then, but i would never be able to (or feel good about doing it) pull that off during the season. Isnt it about time to put that fucking thing away? This is correct. We can deal with it with enough notice. Vacation time isnt a problem. The random day off with minimal notice is the issue. This.
  2. This weather sucks. Pretty sure i can turn off the ac for good tomorrow.
  3. God dammit......i thought there was going to be something worthwhile in this thread.
  4. "coming soon" will be open before Xanadu
  5. This would be tops for me as well, and probably Shadows would agree. I am amazed at how many people feel that work, especially for seasonal work, isnt their biggest priority. Like, bringing home a regular paycheck and paying bills isnt high on their list of things to do.
  6. Was he the false advertising guy, or the its 40 degrees and Blue isnt making snow guy? You can see what an impression he has left on me.
  7. God dammit.....i thought there would be something worthwhile posted here.
  8. I would go with maybe used to be, kinda. I doubt Vail will be interested in capturing that title again.
  9. I do. it was a whooping $4. They practically give it away. Theres probably 2 interesting articles in it surrounded by things that are basically advertisements made to look like articles.
  10. Got mine as well. i havent paged through it yet to find out which resort is the best/paid the most money to the magazine.
  11. Had a guy take off work during the week because he was getting his new lawn tractor delivered. to me, that seems like something that could have been scheduled for a Saturday, but what the fuck do i know. One guy told one of the managers today "you are lucky i'm here today.....i could have stayed home". Coming from a guy who is circling the drain financially with no good way out. His days are numbered.
  12. And when you are done with the hot tub, use a chain saw to cut it up. Trust me.
