it's called a hotbox, and it really works. But its not as hot as an oven, its just hot enough to help the wax seep into the pores of the base. I was considering sending my new skis next year to this place that will hotbox them for hours on end with different waxes, and they'll be sooo fast.
  7. it just looks like water
  8. yea i know what you mean, for a beginner/noob/cruiser that might be good, but for a racer/expert who wants their weight distributed the way they want it to be, a fixed plate would be more suitable.
  9. it's gotta be those new atomics

Skiing is a 100% go for next weekend, but I want some place i can rip, not do bumps, so unless they start making some more snow, and groom, i guess i'm VT bound, maybe i'll ski with Greg, since hes with alot of n00bs/ cruisers

nono! Just drip enough on, so that when you spread it out, it covers your board, just because you melt more onto the base, doesn't mean more will be absorbed, since you scrap most of the wax off anyway. when you get more experienced, you'll use less and less wax each time.

thats a starting point, but to do a tune, you need alot more. that kit doesn't even include wax, or a iron. A file alone won't get you nice edges, you need a file guide (the beast works the best)....You need wax, an iron, scrapers, nylon and brass brushes, side edge guide, files, and some more stuff. Ptex is only for base repairs....
  14. i dunno, maybe cause he rode at camelback when he lived around here.... great to hear from ya mike...
  15. the lows can't just be below freezing, the HIGH's have to be in the mid 30's, just so they can blow a good portion of the day, and don't loose alot of snow when the sun is out. The weather just doesn't look good right now.

when skidude, or ski999 stops by, i'm sure they'll help w/ their expertise, because they are the authority when it comes to tuning
  17. I SEE THE LIGHTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. haha yea, that's already been established
  19. yea, i've done that before....it is a good idea, since the lift IS right there.
  20. they made me park down below, BEFORE the guard house....you take the elk mobile up that hill.....
  21. ski, are all those mud tracks from you, comming down the trail?
  22. click on the trails, or on the trail list.....some of them include the two terrain parks, and halfpipe, razors edge, and paradise, i dunno if there are anymore...there are some more vids hidden in the site, such as the downhil bikerace vid....
  23. two years ago i actually parked up top, no need to use the elk mobile, but i did that last year, and honestly, that was the worst thing possible. the high for the day was 9 degrees, so just imagine riding in it in that weather.
