  1. I've slacked off over the last week and haven't been able to get out of bed, so I was destined to get out today, since I am off of work. Figures, over the last couple days I hatched another head cold and can't quit sneezing. Anyway, I slept in again and forced myself to go to BB. I didn't bother to check the forecast, but I ran into some light snow on the way. Probably a little after 3:30, it really started coming down and snowed pretty good for the rest of my night. I forced out 30 runs, mostly between Draufganger, boulder park, and Mittl-weg. The place was deserted. I was really surprised to see nobody on BB park, since everybody complains about wanting soft landings, and tonight was the night for them. My head started bothering me, so I bolted. On a side note, my last run up the lift, some guy tucked and straightlined one of the jumps on BB park. I could tell that he didn't seem to know what he was doing. As expected, he went off of the jump and landed on the front end of his skis and almost planted face first into the snow. I saw his buddy go down to check on him, so I don't know what came out of it. The snow was amazing...not dry, but definately not cement. I wanted to hang around longer, but I want to get back out again on Tuesday.
  2. Maybe I should have clarified this. I don't want huge storms where I live, but I don't mind if the ski areas get them. I planned on going to Elk on Tuesday, but the Poconos are supposed to get 3-7 inches starting Tuesday morning. I might just end up going to JF, instead, since it looks like Elk might be a littlle too far NW, for this.
  3. I skied BB today (2-2) and there was moderate to heavy snow, between 3 and 6pm, and it was still coming down pretty good, when I left.
  4. JF gets crowded sometimes, but the lines move really quick, because they have so many lifts.
  5. Actually, no. As much as I love snow, I don't want a huge storm. They are too much of a pain to get around in, they close roads, and it's a bitch when you don't have off street parking. I prefer smaller storms. I also don't want a lot of rain. That's why I'm hoping we get brushed with snow and not dumped on or rained on.
  6. I don't want a crippling snow storm and I don't want a lot of rain, so hopefully it misses us.
  7. I just saw that Wednesdays are now college days at JF $25 http://www.jfbb.com/news/2009/01/27/college-day-jack-frost
  8. Just before you get to the double chair, there is a cross over run to skier's right that takes you to the triple chairs. You can hit everything off of the triple chairs, on the west side, by using that cross over. The lines at the triple chairs go quicker and tend to be a little shorter.

That's not the quad is i? I was there Tues. and they had the double running and the quad was shut down.
  10. If your gun can go off by falling on it, you need to get a better gun, Once you get in a car, you need a permit.
  11. I was there Tuesday and loved it. I had a free ticket to CB, so I used it Wednesday. I would have rather gone back to Elk and paid.
  12. It is. Although, I was at Elk on Tuesday and their conditions were outstanding...I guess you could call it a "soft" packed powder. I was at CB on Wednesday and was disapointed with everything except for King Tut and Big pocono. A lot of the trails seemed to be somewhat icy. It's almost as if they aren't tilling it that far down, when they groom. The snow also seemed to be more granular, than packed powder.
  13. Don't froget to go down frosty and powder puff. They lead to the other blue's that I posted above. You can cross cut trails to get to the blues, if you don't want to wade through beginners. Jane's lane is next to the double lift. http://www.jfbb.com/explore/trail-maps
  14. Did you do the two to the far west (ridge run and easy rider)? They are kind of hidden, because they are the bottom half of two green circles. They are kind of neat in their own way. Jane's lane is another neat one, because it's a little windie. They had banked turns on it a couple years ago, which were nice and something different. Lehigh has a nice head wall, but kind of gets flat too quick.
  15. let me re-phrase that...not leagally without a permit.
  16. I just had an idea . Use a lock. America is the land of opportunity...if you give somebody an opportunity, they might take it.
  17. No bumps. Exhibition is a nice wide trail and probably has the most consisitant pitch. The right side is a little steeper. The left side provides a nice consistant pitch for carving turns. The snow on the left side also seems to stay softer, since it gets a little more sun. They occasionally have done half bumps/ grooming on Floyds. I've seen him and he is a really good skier.
  18. JF was also deserted until about 9:30 am. The snow was beautiful.
  19. Groom them out. I like that trail better without bumps .
  20. Any fresh snow down that way. About 2" dry powder in Lake Harmony area.
  21. East Mt. consists of several trails. If you can do thunderbolt, you should be able to do rivershot/lightnight on east mt.. There is a long flat run in, followed by a headwall, followed by a short flat run, followed by another headwall, then a long flat run out to the lift. Floyd's Folly might be a little much, because it is almost a straight drop off.
  22. Use the boards to crack their asses.
