  1. Ah I dig this forum. Nothing but skiers. No bullshit. Nobody takes your knees out when you speak your opinion. Good updates from everything from the mountains to gear. Even the drunken mess of the out west trips. Best of all no liberals. Let this sight live on and pay homage to the snow gods.
  2. ok dude that's some funny shit......but seriously Doug WTF do you do there?
  3. about two on the ground. snowed here all day but amounted to shit. no slush or ice but it's heavy. depending on what time what gets groomed will depend on what's fun.Just coming in off shawnee now. not a bad night. If I had to guess Mountain Creek got the dump.
  4. I like to refer to that as living in the "Pink".
  5. Come on man...... .....two feet would be sweeet.
  6. Man,sometimes you gotta' give props to the snowmakers and groomers.I gotta' say the mountain was in great shape for having a two inch rain event six days ago. Cliffhanger was in nice shape, bumps on the right side finally......Marjie's was closed. Rocket was well ok Rocket with razor back wall bumps. It's not gonna work Art. Mow'em down and let Marjie's bump. It's the proper order of the Universe. It's good Karma. You'll make the Snow Gods happy.Enough said. Hump was nice,Asp was nice. Lots of snow. Race course might be chewy come Wednesday but it should be fun. Making a ton of snow on Raceway. Pulled in around 10:30 at the Stevenson met up with my crew at the Sullivan and off we went. It's such a fuckin' moto when I ski with those hoodlums. Click off 30 in a hurry. Couple beers in the parking lot and call it a day. Sposed to snow tonight and tomorrow so who knows....maybe I can sneak up again tomorrow.
  7. That's enough Shawnee. Headed up around 10-12 if anybody is around there's a case of Hiney's in the back of a gray F350 in the sunbowl parking lot. Feel free.
  8. Not much has changed...well the HSQ is pretty sweet, but the terrain is the same. They quit letting bumps happen quite some time ago. It was just getting to be a mess. The woods are not marked but we keep'em pretty clean and yes 2 feet plus needed to open the woods. One thing super nice about the place is no lines. Even holidays are no problem.....and the bar is never packed.
  9. Yeah it's seven miles from my place.I spend some time there. Not so busy this season. No bumps anymore. To many beginners. They would just be in the way. When we have snow the woods are sweet.
  10. I was really in question of the day and like all of us who ski here knew what the hill would be like. Sketchy at best. But after a good breakfast and some sibling squibling, inservice day, we loaded up and headed for the mountain. It was good to see the guns full bore as recovery looks to be swift. After the normal rolling around the base area we managed to hop on around 10. First run down Tomahawk was ...well....ok. Fro-zone cord. Just what I expected. Glad I opted for the Wateas the Bonafides hate that shit. After 8 blasters down Tomahawk to warm up we hit Arrowhead which had been under the guns all morning. Sweet. Snow. Well...woohoo made made snow. Certainly beat the ice everywhere else. As the day rolled on enough people has shown to bust up the cord and things were actually not bad. Should set up for a decent weekend. Glad to see the entire mountain open this year.
  11. Snow Basin is sweet. I remeber after the lodge was redone walking in and walking out thinking to myself...."this place private?" Sweet digs. You guys do any out of bounds?
  12. Oh Vinny man after just the ride up the canyon you my man will be all like........"VERMONT??? Pft....fuck.......Vermont?" Utah is the shit in my mind. No place better than Alta/Snowbird. Have fun.

    Sunday 1/28

Asp has been the best snow for a week or so. Yeah the bump trail confusion continues...... Marjies has always always held the best bump line of any trail on the hill. period. Why mgnt. refuses to see this and let it do it's natural thing baffles me still. Glad you guys had a good day.
  14. nice to see the Toll House getting some love. For as cheeeseey as this sounds I would love to say my vowels with my girl up there. That would be just cool.
  15. Super beginer area. New owners. Have not been there in some time but I understand they are putting some money into the area. Be a great stepping stone for JFBB.
  16. I like your thinking. I'm with ya' on the change. Just 'cuase I grew up here on all this vert doesn't mean my kids have to. I'm leaning toward Bellayre next season. Just go ahead and buy a place up there...then I'll have to go.lol
  17. Scattered about the area but still around. They have eased up on the parking lot deal......of course ya' kinda' have to when you sanction a drunk fest at the end of the season and give away awards for best in show. And remeber to reserve your spot for the party even if you get there at the ass crack of dawn to ski, the Sunbowl lot is reserved for that day. Man that word circus keeps coming up....... http://bonald.blogspot.com/clown%20on%20skis%20garmisch%20feb%2005.jpg
  18. It's a go. With a new indoor water park in tow. Cliff's ready to open. Just need to mow it down......or just open that bitch and let's ski it.
  19. Word. Toss in Camelback on Wednesdays and you can ski and eat on $30 for two nights. Who says this sport was expensive. lol
  20. Not so much. You'll still have the right side to carry speed but it's still a trail merge. Granted the top of the pharow is an advanced trail, it funnels quickly to a blue and hence the problem.I'm certain management will call this a "SLOW ZONE". A slow zone at the bottom the of a double black. Ah Yeah..... ....and the the beer was a long trail.
  21. Couldn't make it up last night just wondered how the course was.
  22. .....lol yeah that was after waiting 15 minutes in the bar for a luke warm 7 dollar beer in a plastic cup. I don't mind the temp or the cup but 15 min.? I grew up skiing at Camelback worked at Camelback and have been around the mountain for 40 years. I love the terrain and it is ...was my home mountain. That's why I ski Shawnee now. My beers come cold and quick, there are little to no lift lines on weekends and for only giving up 100 vert.......nuff sed. Wait till they put the hotel in........the Griswalds will be making this an anuall stop.
