  1. Very strange day today.... Bumps were actually pretty good, which let to 3 women asking Tarpon to teach them how to ski them, which led to some parking lot tailgating and camaraderie. I'm still reeling from this (or maybe it was the parking lot beers), as stuff like this just doesn't normally happen. Anyone notice any weird, space-time continuum disturbances or anything?
  2. Closing at 4pm on Sunday...
  3. That's what gets boring for me. There's always other stuff to ski than just set the cruise control on groomers and mach down the hill. I rather break it up, mach in the morning when the groomers are best, move to the bumps, if they're skiable/fun, look to the side, spines, ditches, guns n' hoses. For me, variety is the spice of life, but to each his own. There's always parking lot beers at the end (and/or middle)!
  4. That last pic with beers and cocktails is beautiful!
  5. Better get out first thing, they keep upping the start time of the r**n...
  6. QFT! Beau was the best. Just like Blue to shit-can a good, hard worker. Sometimes you have to look past the quirks, everyone's got em. I'm way too scared to try any of his Jell-o shots. I want to get home without seeing strange things crawling out of the air vents and such.
  7. Unless you have to take a rage level 4 shit on the way down! Don't bother asking me how I know...

    2-9 ok

Watch out for the yellow jackets or whatever the hell color the Cameltoe stoke stompers are wearing these days!
  9. Evidently you're not proficient at putting your equipment away after skiing, or getting ready beforehand...
  10. Holy O'Fuck NaCL-y, now you can't even put your boots on. WTF kind of skier are you??? Toast, you better add some good tags to this thread for this one!! OMFG!
  11. There's no reason to have the shit on Dreamweaver, that's yet another BMR demand who we all know run Blue. BMR is slowly taking control of all the slopes, they're like little kids. Whenever anyone wants something, they scream "Mine!", use it for a day, then wait for the next complaint. Why they bothered to put bumps on Challenge at this time is anyone's guess, since they now bumped up Chute, there's plenty for all levels. The sun angle is still too low in February and they get boilered out fast and the lower part is still in the shade practically the entire day. They should have left Challenge alone until the end of February when crowds begin to thin out. Hell! We want them to bump up Race...er, Widowmaker so there's a run all the way down and into Chute, but BMR won't give up that run either. Mine!! They really should have done away with Nightmare bumps as well and put some in the proper place (afternoon sun) on Sidewinder. Although that run does get nice in the afternoons now, it's just way too short to be that much fun. Sidewinder is plenty wide enough to accommodate a few lines of bumps and loads of people concurrently. They could have at least tried it to gauge the level of acceptance, now that it's no longer a full on park. If you really don't like it Jeff, get on Blue's FB page and bitch about Challenge and tell them to instead bump up Sidewinder where there's afternoon sun. I'll have your back on it!
  12. It's a wonder Blue's shop carries anything beyond groomer and/or race skis...
  13. Seems like everyone out West like the Rossi freeride skis, you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a pair. Guess there's something to them, but not for out here.
  14. Ski with what you got until you decide on where you're gonna live/ski. Then, depending on what type of conditions you encounter, check out what locals are skiing, demo them & others, then decide.
  15. Fast food is just plain disgusting and unhealthy and a place like Sunup isn't that much more expensive than McCrap's and you're also helping the local Vermont businesses instead of lining some multi-national corporate executive's bottom line.
  16. Stop at the Sunup Bakery right across from the Wobbly Barn on Killington Road and get yourself and egg and bagel sandwich on your way to the slopes.
  17. It's so much fun watching little ones progress at skiing. They get good fast!
  18. Yet again, learn to ski moguls. Feet together, pivoting (NOT CARVING) skis simultaneously to form a platform on which to turn, which in perder, all you really need to do is shift your weight from foot to foot. Also, view the trees as moguls and you turn past them, so you don't hit them.
  19. Mmmm....Keep hoping for Sunday!
  20. Truer words have NEVER been spoken!
  21. OMG NaCL-y, I have to tighten my boots numerous times in a single ski day. In the morning I have to tighten them, as everything is cold and the liners have expanded slightly overnight. As the outside temperature increases, the shell softens and the liners pack a bit and my body warms up and I can put more flex into them. This can be worse, if the day starts our super cold, with an inversion and the sun hasn't come up over the ridge. Boot buckles aren't something you set once and forget. They don't have micro-adjustments for nothing!
  22. Looks like Saturday is gonna just be cloudy and warm-ish, with Sunday being a washout. Saturday might be a good bump day.
