1/15/17..incredible snow and lots of PASRs
GrilledSteezeSandwich replied to GrilledSteezeSandwich's topic in Blue Mountain
It's what people will pay. Breakeven on a blue season pass isn't bad. The costs to operate a PA area and pump all that snow is expensive still a lot cheaper than the almost $2,000 Stowe and Jackson hole get for season passes -

Well Sunday night tickets are only $30 and regular night tickets are $40 so it depends on the sessions you see and some of us paid 6-700 for season pass so breakeven varies. I bet a large percentage of season pass holder buddy passes go unused because it's not really publicized -
Heard that on a commercial lol they are out of their minds. Aren't you allowed to ski in the woods in Vermont and don't Vermont areas have faux tyrolean base villages???

No runs like switchback and nightmare to Dreamweaver at elk.

I won't ski with a backpack on..somebody at blue Saturday was wearing a sweet Jansport..

If you don't get to Blue by 745am on a busy day forget about getting a lot of vert. Yesterday and Sunday was 7 runs first hour and 6 second hour..if I would have stayed out a third hour would have been down to 4 runs tops and the VIP line can get long as well.

Nice report!!! I didn't know that blue is only 45 minutes less drive than Elk. The slow lifts have kept me away from Elk.

Hey all, I'm back from another fun session at blue mountain the true mountain. On the drive up I stopped at the McDonald's on 145 and had a sausage egg and cheese mcmuffin, hash brown and apple juice for $5.60. As I was pulling out I saw the Moe Tel with green Vermont plates. In the house wer JFBB Dan, Atomic Jeff, Johnny Law, Slim, Moe Ghoul, Toast, George, VTMark, TP4, MBike Mike, Tarponhead, Matt Edge, Justo and many more. Got first civilian 6-pack and first run on Challenge as razors was closed for races today. Challenge was very good. Nightmare to Dreamweaver was incredible groomed snow a carpet was good enough to ski about 5-6 times. Switchback was also pretty good don't tell anybody and Sidewinder was enjoyable As a regular run and Matt edge lapped the fuck out of that. Lazy mile was alright and they are still blowing in the woods. Main Street was also nice soft packed powder. Crowds descended on blue mountain and no real lift lines until W around 10am. The Peking lot ws fun with sunshine and good beer. I had a heady topper and other IPAs..was fun commaraderie...and a few went out for more runs. All in all was a fun time at blue mountain the true mountain. JADIP!!

Hey All, I'm back from a fun session at blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot around 725am and it was around 25 degrees under overcast sky's. In the house were NMSki, AtomicJeff, Slim, George, Indiggio, JFBBDan, MBike Mike, Nastar Glenn, JLaw and many more. A highlight of today was being able to ski a large variety of terrain and ski conditions. First run on razors was icy death and we witnessed carnage later from the lift. Challenge was alright pretty crispy and fast didn't bring me down. Nightmare to Dreamweaver was the run of the day and I hit that about five time. Switchback was ok early but was pretty icy the second time I skied it around 930. Lazy mile was silky smooth and a bit crazy. Upper Main Street was good lower was variable. We also skied a run on sidewinder and it was alright. It's a fast run. Hats off to the snowmakers for getting all the terrain open. They were even blowing snow in the woods to the right of lazy mile and the bumps apparently got a dose of mana made freshies as well. Only a minor lifeline around 10am and then into the lot for some beer and chips. Pleasant weather and nice entertainment from all the cars driving in and out license plates from all over the place. Tomorrow looks like a lot of PASRs and nice sunny weather. Ski everybody later.

Wow barb that's a lot of snow!!! I've heard some Colorado mountain towns have the most snow on the ground that they've had in 7 years.

He's probably happy to see his wife and dog and get back to work.

Darn I've reached my monthly article limit on mcall.com I always here a radio ad for Shawnee. The people in the add have heavy philly accents and talk about how the lift has easy loading and how great the place is. The 700 vert and additional drive has kept me away from there.

Wow just wow maybe sidewinder is so good cause the snow didn't freeze solid. Whistler is very low elevation no altitude sickness there.
