Mess Posted January 3 Report Posted January 3 Haven't been to Camelback in a few years. Bought a triple ticket for myself and youngest son. Was excited to get out for the first time this year. We arrived at 9:00 and got on the Bear 6 by 9:20. Not much of a line. It is a nice lift and pretty cool that it has a bubble. Reminded me of Mount Snow and Okemo. First run was Birches to meadows. Nice easy trail after some cross country skiing at beginning of trail. Lift line was a little longer for second run. My son was very tentative so we did birches to Laurel glade next. When we got to the lift the line was backing up. It was strange because it is a 6 person lift and people were lining up with small groups of 2 or 3 and not getting next to other groups to form lines of 6. The lines were spreading out across the base area. I skied up with my son and joined a group of 2. Some people in the line were not happy. I am not sure that I was wrong as this seems to be what is done on the lifts in Vermont. We then decided to ski Marc Anthony and work our way to the Quad near the trails end Pub. We first tried to stop at theAdventure basecamp near the bottom of the sun bowl to warm up but it was closed. So then we went to The trails end Pub thinking we could get a coffee and relax but it was also closed until 11:00. The Quad lift was really crowded. It took about 30 minutes to get on the lift. We took a run down Nile Mile. It was a fun trail. We went back and waited another 30 minutes to get on the same lift. Went down Marc Anthony to honeymoon. The trail was so crowded that my son really had issues. I saw ski patrol helping someone that went off the trail. We heard it was a 4 year old. Hopefully nothing too serious. There were people all over the base area. The line was crazy so we called it a day. I think it might have been an hour wait. The base lodge was so crowded and when we were leaving the rental line was at least 60 yards long just to get in the building. When we were driving out cars were bumper to bumper from the entrance to the Barley Creek Brewing Company. Camelback made a killing yesterday. Overall I really like the Mountain but I picked a bad day to go. I was disappointed that they did not have more lifts running and they seemed very unprepared for the crowd. 2
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted January 3 Report Posted January 3 Welcome back @Mess nice report and don’t worry I won’t ask you how Floyd’s was lol 1
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted January 3 Report Posted January 3 (edited) Also without a liftline organizer it’s rare for people to pair up with other groups here in PA but at like Jackson hole people natural fill chairs. Sounds like yesterday was camelbacks most crowded day of the year just like blue. Edited January 3 by GrilledSteezeSandwich 2
toast21602 Posted January 22 Report Posted January 22 Not staring a new thread. Went to Camelback this morning. Conditions were great. Got yelled at by patrol because I was told to slow down, which I did, and didn't come to a complete stop because there was a groomer on a trail that is 100m wide. Stoke stomper. But the conditions were fantastic and grooming was perfect. I haven't been there in a bit so it was a nice change of scenery. They have the whole works there now. Major resort vibes going on but it is pretty well done minus the waterpark shit all over. 2 1

Last season it was such a shitshow I was constantly pecking away at the keys on my Jitterbug cellular device. You're becoming a major Camelback fan, gone are the days of referring it to "Cameltoe". This is grate, soon you'll high five an actual camel. 1 1
