Hey All,

 

I’m back from another morning at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 840am and it was mostly sunny with the temperature in the upper 30s at the base and upper 40s up high..mad inversion Yo!!  In the house were Atomic Jeff, C1er, Oz, BethlehemFord guy and Jimmy. 
 

Only the quad was running. First run as paradise which was pretty firm but also pretty smooth and one lane of loose granuler.  Lazy mile had excellent grooming with some spring corn at the corner. Sidewinder was firm and pleasent enough.  The worst snow I encountered was on the falls and right after the falls I don’t think they groomed and it was herky jerky. 
 

I repeated Lazy and Paradise a few times and it got slightly softer but the snow set up to much overnight for boner doner spring conditions at least in the morning. The steeper runs like razors and challenge looked pretty terrible but by afternoon probably semi spring.  Now back at work like a dork. I might go back tomorrow I’ll play by ear.

Barring anything crazy I'm in for a sunset RAW sesh tonight. Could be the last week of midweek operations, and gotta take advantage of the weather!

After a weekend of no skiing and meetings all morning I was jonesing to get out.  I saw some of Kurt's crew but otherwise it was empty. 

Snow was obvious, it's 70 degrees out. Hyper soft do anything you want bouncy but why weren't you jumping off it in the first place ? 

With only the quad the little gap side was quiet af and dare I say half way to a legit corn harvest.

Never would I wish for such temps but it did make for a glorious day.

My sentiments exactly. It's warm. Quad only. Quiet. As springy as spring snow gets, brown spots but damn is it beautiful out here.

I don't see switchback going past this week. The usual holes are starting to open up rapidly coverage elsewhere is still good. I think I timed this lift out right for a sunset pic. Obligatory e blue mountain sun set shot coming up

The one hole visible as the quad crosses lower nightmare below the big dawg booter is impressive but there’s a stream along the skiers right side of nightmare and funnels right back to the fishing pond.  If anybody needs Koi fish, I have a plug on the southside of Allentown. If you need spider monkeys I actually know a guy in Texas not even kidding.

I saw that. Wild. Best part is they have poles surrounding the hole. Problem is unless you see it from the lift you're not seeing those poles unless you're mid air. I would think by that point it's too late

Yesterday they put up an orange fence across the front of the jump later on. Last night they filled the hole by removing the jump entirely. The cord first thing today wasn’t as frozen as yesterday, but not completely soft either. Bare patches getting larger on lower switch, Razors head wall in much better shape than yesterday, everything in good shape, particularly  challenge and freefall. Even lower Paradise didn’t have any skid marks. Excellent work by the groomers last night.

I wanted to get up there today..I guess I still technically can but my work pretty nuts at least stacking nuts..like nobody on the webcams.

I think being closed tomorrow and then cooler temps incoming should allow them to patch things up pretty good for the weekend.  This sort of warm spell in early March very normal but I think today might top some records had to hit 80+ many locales.

Did it rain much today in the Poke N Hoes?  I had a parade of walk ins at work today…complete with somebody crying while she wrote the check…and high key jealous of TP4 at Jackson hole today.  Was looking for him in the lineup on the webcams…9” new

A couple of sun showers and a brief shower around 3 pm. Nothing now, but a band is about to hit.
