skifreak Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 Tentative opening date for the 2005/2006 season for blue is posted on there homepage as this Friday December 2nd. I hope it stays this way. Site states with seven trails as well.
Shadows Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 then that means cb will most likely also be opening. two mountains opening at the same weekend. cb has to
lurker Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 Thank the lord, Hallelujah! Hopefully CB will follow suit. The season is coming so early this year. AMaaazZing!
AtomicSkier Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 word from a ski patroller on this site that CB will be looking at the 3rd...
snorovr Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 Weather channel is forecasting snow for Friday the 2nd. Hopefully areas will be able to open with a bit of fresh. Call Blue and tell them to set up a mini-park for opening weekend. If they hear from enough people that they'll come up on account of them doing this then it could happen. That would be soooo sweeeeet.

It would also be a good way for people to find out more about the Freeride programs a couple of weeks before they start... becuase at least one of our coaches will be there at any given time. We (freeride ski coaches) oficially opened our "private" park this weekend. (2) 90' runs with (1) 20' flat down box and (1) 16' adjustable double-barrell rail. We even had some snow today on the box run. Pics and movies of opening day will be posted shortly. We have been training all summer at Lake Placid and at our park to make sure that the students get the best experience possible!
insomniac Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 Post an email, otherwise I'm honestly not going to go out've my way.
Sno Mountain Skier Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 I would be willing to bet that they dont open. Just look at the forecast it doesnt get cold til thursday, and then it gets warm again on next sunday. Hate to say it but PA looks screwed even on the 15 day.

AtomicSkier Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 Blue ALWAYS blows WAY more then necessary on Main Street incase of a thaw, they blow so much, they rarely ever need to blow more on that trail throughout the year. They have enough snow as is to open it, but less snow is lost in rain when it's in piles so they'll be waiting it out.
insomniac Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 I'm going to be there, almost for sure all day.
Glenn Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 I'll probobly be there all day as well unless CB steps up and opens.
emsp4life Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 I'll be there all day. I drove by tonight and they defintely got some nice piles to push after the rain hits this week. We should put together a mini meet-up on Friday. Anyone up for that?
Glenn Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 Revision of plans I don't have the money to be there all day. I'll either ride the morning or afternoon session. Depends on who I can get to ride with me, and when.
skifreak Posted November 27, 2005 Author Report Posted November 27, 2005 If they open Friday I will try and be there, if not deffinetly Saturday if they are open.
Zonked Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 I may try and get up there..It all depends on my plans for this weekend

snorovr Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 "Are they charging full price?" Your best bet is to give the Blue Mt. ticket office a call sometime this week. They are usually there until around 4pm most days. Their number is (610) 826-7700. Forecast is looking really good from Thursday night on. Hopefully with the current base they have and the return of colder weather they will be able to open by Saturday...
