    new boot

actually as far as high end boots go, the diablos are fairly wide compared to say, langes or heads. the 1080 boot is just a bucket, you can fit any foot inside that thing, but good luck getting a good fit.
  5. ha craige knows his female skiers thats for sure
  6. except the one last october was a complete mess. like 150 kids trying to hit one box that was falling apart. you got 4 or 5 shots at the thing if you were lucky. if you guys over at roundtop could get 2 rails in for that thing this year, they would be sick and would alleviate a lot of the crowd factor
  7. both of these skis are still available if you want them. i kinda forgot she still had them so i didnt really spread the word like i should. but she is looking for 200 for the volkls and 250 for the rossis with bindings
  8. yeah last year's ski equipment is anywhere from 40-60% off i believe. we havent set any prices for sure on the skis yet though. i do know we are running a package with fujatives and a binding for 299, and some leftover armadas for pretty cheap. we also got in the new scratches, the salomon 1080 foil, new fujatives, PEs and missdemeanors, new head mojo 70s and 80s, and dynastar nothin but troubles as of today, with more stuff on the way in tomorrow. so yeah, theres lots of twin tips to choose from for sure.
  9. what shop is this? someone who's 6' 200 pounds is definately overpowering a 176 ar5. they arent exactly the stiffest ski in the world.
  10. the sale is at quakertown. i dunno why pete isnt setting up the shop at whitehall sooner. oh well.
  11. my personal experience with armada is that they ski a lot shorter than the size they list at. its definately a good solid park ski that you can still take anywhere else and have fun with too. but going for a 176 and mounting it up maybe one or two centimeters wouldnt be a bad call. the 176 is probably going to be about head high on you, but its a really forgiving ski too, so it shouldnt really be a problem. i'm 6' 165 lbs and on a pair of 180 4FRNTs and they really dont feel much longer than my 171 1080's just because it's a ski designed for the park, which is what the aramadas are too, meaning you can ski them a little longer than you would a normal ski. also, before you buy them online, check out nestor's ski mania sale august 19th - 21st, all the new stuff for this year at about 40% off.
  12. kmar, so if he wants to do other things, then why doesnt he? and him wanting to do other things has no bearing on the fact that for the majority of the season last year, everything was built terribly. like i said, park crew cant fix what is already broken. also, i never said that the park crew kids HAD to be the ones driving the groomers, it was just a possible suggestion. they should, however, have a lot more say, and sit in with the groomers while they are building things, so that they can tell them if something has too much kick to the lip or not steep enough of a landing. i dont doubt that the head groomer knows how to use a groomer; the problem is that the sizes and shapes of the jumps are not up to par. you need more than 20 feet of landing for that jump that was at the top of sidewinder this year. ask anyone who rides the park on a regular basis and has some ability and they will tell you that the landing on that jump was rarely good. coherent sentences and thoughts are also a plus.
  13. east versus west was not my argument. west versus the current park crew was. the kids know what we want, they know how to build it, and definately would cost much less than some professional park designer from out west. if a park is good, its good; if its not, its not, thats all there is to it. it doesnt matter who designed it, as long as its fun to ride. bear creek is the prime example of this. they let their park crew actually have a say in what happens. boyer sits in the groomer when they cut the pipe to make sure its done right. little things like that obviously go a long way.
  14. yeah i know justin and rat trap. but about the park. why would blue waste money paying someone from "out west" to design their park when they can't maintain the crap that they have? have park crew design it, let them maintain it, and save lots of money. and why does someone from out west automatically mean a good park? mt snow's parks were amazing this year, as were okemo's, and both of those mountains are on the east coast. to really give blue a kick in the balls though, bear creek, 45 minutes away, had a rediculously good park as everyone already knows, and they have half the vert that blue does.
  15. please explain why blue needs to hire someone from out west to design their park? let kutzler and vasquez do it. they know what we all want. train them on how to use the groomers and let them build everything, or at least let them sit in with the people who are building everything now. them and the other park crew kids had some good ideas, but the retards who drive the groomers never build anything correctly, let alone maintain it. park crew cant fix something with a shovel and rake if it wasnt built right in the first place. the GM has told me things before too, and none of it happened. i was told there was going to be a rainbow box this year, but maybe thats just one of those rails tehy keep in the maintenance building instead of putting them out on the slopes.
  16. there were a few times when you had to tuck into it, but thats cause the snow was super slow, it was windy, and there was no kick to the lip. i really hope they let us actually have a say in the park this year...
  17. ^ i dunno what huge tabletop you are talking about, there was no such thing at blue last year.
  18. hmm, i know plenty of people who requested they actually put some effort into the park, and we all know that didnt happen.
  19. fun for you and me or anyone else who knows what they are doing, sure. but not fun when you have to avoid a bunch of morons.
  20. i am not personally involved with blue's race program, but i know a bunch of kids that are in or used to be in it, and there are some kids there who can ski. also, sean, one of the coaches, is probably the most solid skier i have ever seen in my life. he was skiing the gates faster on one ski than most people can ski them on two; this was when he spiral fractured his leg in 13 places.
  21. that and blue mountain is just really good at messing things up. i dunno what they are doing under the quad, but a trail that steep with that tight of turns and that narrow could be really bad news, especially with lift towers scattered throughout it. i had heard rumors that this was going to be turned into a new terrain park, but again, for that to happen, they really need to widen the thing a lot.
  22. i have some DNA stuff and i like it a lot. super waterproof, really comfy, and it looks good too.
  23. yeah the bad lieutenant is probably the worst looking helmet i have ever seen. i really like my 9.9, like craige said its super light, really comfy, and does a good job of keeping your ears warm while still being able to hear. the tune ups are nice too.
  24. i know blue has a weekday pass, i dont know the price off the top of my head, but check out thier site for details on that. and about that northridge thing or whatever, i dont know whats going on with it now, but supposedly ray was building condos kind of along the access road to the top lodgem but i dont know what has happened to that since he wants to sell now.
  25. so whats the latest with blue? anyone hear any more details as far as whether it was sold or not?
