Have fun....turing montage into a snowboarders only monuntain means one thing... death by ski999
-
If your going to be an a$$ hole to people...why they going to let you stick around Either way you look at it, MRG sucks without the single, and since you can't ride that, its not worth going to... Like I said, go make a snowboards only resort
-
This is a press realease... I'm working on finding out what exactlly the safety issue was...But if you look at a trail map of MRG then its pretty week with no single chair.
-
If it was done right, in the right place it could...Gotta make it so good that all the riders want to go there. Can't happen...They are not discrimiating against the snowboarers, just the snowboards. (can you sue CB for not letting you ride your snowmobile there?) Tons of lost ski areas that already have cut trails...Or any other mountain that is going out of business, or make one on a hilll...
-
Why did he have to take it off?
-
Get away with? Do I think a boarder (or boarders) could make it...yes Do I think it would work, no... but no one has tried yet either...
-
Or more than 1/2 the game... Not getting caught by rangers is the other part
-
Amen...Its somewhere I want to go ski sometime...But I don't think anyone on this board has skied all the places up north, so until thats the only one you haven't skied, I don't want to hear you guys complain about it. Why don't you make a snowboards only mountain
-
Mad props to the snowmakers indeed!! I skied hump on monday, and there was no hardpack on it, anywhere...Plus lots of nice stuff on the sides to play on. They are going to try to get the mountain nice friday night/saturday night for sunday (busyest day on a long weekend) and monday...After that snowmaking will probably slow down.
-
Ted L. won the Combined (one run of Downhill, and 2 runs of Slalom)...Probably the event for the best rounded racer.
-
added it for ya
-
That might be ok, but it might just be too skinny for both...Who knows they could always try it.
-
Rocket had them, now Asp does. One bump run is enough....IMO...Gotta have enough trails to rip turns.
-
Haha I did like that drop off...Hit it going a little to the left was the best....But I couldn't for the life of me find any line on asp...I think they bumps will be nice as long as they blow every few days....They will get icey no matter what if they don't blow, just a matter of time. Anyway, any bumps are better than no bumps
-
No, you can't ride there cause your board will screw up the lift. As soon as you get off, you have to get up a hill, which you can't do on a board. If they replaced the lift they would probably let boarders in (but then again, it wouldn't be MRG without the single). You can show up at Alta, and they will say sucks to be you, or you can show up at MRG and they will hook you up so atleast you can have fun....
-
Well first I thought Asp would make the best bump run. After skiing both as a bump run, I have to say Rocket had a much better line each time I skied it (even after the knocked it down, and let it bump again). I think thats because the Asp has that turn on it, so all the bumps are a little slanted. I think they should move the bumps back over to rocket, where its a straight line so the bumps come out better. Or at the very least, knock them down before the r@*n and blow more snow, to try and get better rythm.

I found this out about Mad River a little while ago...Its not that they hate on boarders, but when you get off their single chair (main one) there is an uphill or something, and boarders get suck...or something along those lines. If you show up to MRG with a board, they will give you a pair of rental DH or tele skis...
-
That will have to change for next year
-
With the development team you can either pay per day as you go, or pay for all of them at once. If you get a chance go up a weekend this season to see if he likes it enough to do it more next season.
-
I am not going to be up there tomorrow, and probably not next week either, but perhaps the week after that (Mum has too many meetings)... Anyway if he is ever around when I am there, I would be more than happy to give him advice. A good step from there might be for you guys (depending on how old he is) would be to try a junior racing program, like the 'snowcats' at Camelback. Not sure what other mountains have along those lines. From the development team, skiers (once they get the basic things down, and the coaches feel they are ready) move up to the race team. How old is he?
-
Haha if you make it to my house, then I'll give you a ride up (if I get my dad to bring me)
-
I'm thinking I might be up there.. No school tomorrow for me (i odn't know why, roads are 'clear')...'clear'= as clear as they will get....Working on skidad to take me
-
You told me you weren't on here....But I now know you are a registered member...You don't need to be so shy, no one bites too hard here Tell everyone who you are
-
Thats what I thought too...But then again, in 24 hrs (especailly after course work) stuff can change....Look at Blue yesterday at 7pm and today at 7pm
