Funny that I started skiing in my late 20s. I intend to keep doing it but sometimes worry I'll quit if I ever break a leg or something.

I'm committed to going to CO. However now it's not going to rain in VT but still be in the mid 45s which probably isn't a big deal. I regret my life choices!

Thanks! Sometimes I read old threads way way before my time for the lolz. This place seems to be a lot calmer (less arguments, flaming etc) than it used to based on what I've read.

I'd probably stay around the I-70 area. But may check out Winter Park or something else. I'd definitely prefer an SUV if I can get a reasonable price.

I drove about 20 miles on snow covered roads in a compact in October, and down the mountain from Echo Lake to Denver. It was fine but nothing was really deep.

Probably wont encounter anything like that since I dont plan to venture off trail, being alone in unfamiliar terrain.

Thanks! I booked a compact car for $148 and will look at hotels later today. Probably Silver Inn. I know you recommended an SUV but I rented a compact from Avis in Denver in October and drove in the snow just fine. Since it's not supposed to snow I think I can get away with not getting an SUV but still might change my mind.

I tried. Nope. It's nonrefundable and says so right on their website (25% off deal). No big deal, I knew that when I booked. My flight is during the Super Bowl, then I plan to ski Tues to Fri and fly back early Saturday morning. Not sure where I'm going yet, probably Copper and Keystone, wherever is most gaper friendly.

Colorado.... yeah yeah I'll get some flak on here for wasting my reservation but once I started looking up stuff about skiing out west, got too excited about it and decided I just want to go and not wait a full year. The flight I got is so cheap it sort of negates the loss from hotel.

Sorry looks like I'm going to Colorado after all. Hopefully next time.

Last year at Stowe someone on the lift with me who had skied out west said the Vermont mountains were tiny compared to Colorado, and they were disappointed and bored.

If I could cancel my VT hotel I would definitely go west. But VT is still rad to ski, just as long as there's no rain. I fear if I ski out west I'll never want to ski in VT again.

Dont worry I'm going out west within the next 12 months, and took a ton of notes.

I have til 8 pm tonight to decide, flight cancellation deadline. Now it's supposed to be cloudy in VT. Still really want to go to CO, maybe in March but most likely next season. Definitely 100% going there next year though.
