Wonderful dinner at Ryce Asian Bistro. Dan and I had the 14er which is chicken, beef, shrimp and scallops. Probably my new favorite meal there Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Was a great day today! I remembered that epic keeps your stats so I looked it up and I got 17 runs in, which is much more then I usually do. The legs don’t feel too beat up but my stupid broken foot is talking to me. After some ice it feels better hopefully tomorrow will be ok. Lunch pic for Doug. Obligatory Paradise Bowl shot. I get it, I am going to have to pack super light for our Europe trip in the fall as we are also going to be traveling by train.

This looks awesome, great pictures!

Wow, enjoy! And you pack really light.

Went to Buttermilk days 2 and 3. We were told about the sugar bowls out the boundary gate. We went back there day 3. Guy at info desk told us we could ski down the bowl but then had to skin back up and traverse out way we came. We went in about 1.5 miles in but with all our stops to take pictures we were running short on time and turned around before we made the bowl. Ran into some people who said you can totally walk out from bottom and it’s a 5 min walk to the lift. D’oh! I would definitely go back there, they have such an amazing uphill policy. And also to check out the other Aspen mountains. Thinking about the $150 add on the ikon base to have that option next season. Some yurt shots The yurt was awesome and it was actually really nice to unplug for a few days. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Rented a yurt in the town of Marble which is about 1 hr 20 min from Aspen. 4wd to access the property is no joke. Had to put the Jeep in 4low to get it up the last mile. Yurt 3 comfy futons inside View from porch Started snowing heavy that night and we woke up to this When all was said and done it was about 10” (pic was taken about 6:30am). We had to wait for the local plow guy to come through and make a pass before we headed out. Ended up doing a tour on McClure Pass. Just real mellow, didn’t want to do anything crazy with all the new snow. Depending on road conditions we may to a tour near Marble Peak tomorrow. Down another 4wd road but there is a quarry there so it is often plowed. Access road to yurt. To be continued...... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Looks real good! Have to get out to Steamboat one of these days.
-
You are right! That makes them sound more delicious!
-
I don’t think I could stomach eating one peep let alone 5.
-
I have never been but heard the access road to get there is rough in winter and 4WD is recommended. FYI.

Found this awesome off grid yurt in Marble for rent. When I sent the link to my friend of course she said we have to check it out immediately. Heading there early March for a few days. Don’t have to skin in, 4WD road and park right in front. Marble has some good secluded backcountry ski spots I am looking forward to checking out. I have only been to Marble in summer, but it is such a cool little area. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I’ll check out backcountry babes thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think it’s an interesting idea. More and more people wanting to get into the sport. Looks ideal for someone new to try out their gear and see how they like it. But dangerous in the sense that the same person then thinks they have all the knowledge and goes out in more dangerous terrain with no education. I personally wish I could find a mentor to take me to some new places and learn some more. Seems like around here people fall into 2 category’s; new (like me) or very seasoned and not wanting to take the time to babysit someone (which I completely understand). Tried a new route today, the wind sucked ass! This spot is where we popped out of the trees. We’re aiming for the hump but with the wind and snow conditions which were shit due to the wind, we turned around. Access road sketchy, glad I borrowed husband’s Jeep. Saw a few people having a very bad day, stuck HARD. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Snowing a lot here in town, seems like 4-6” a day. Since I got my dreaded air cast boot back on last week my dog is not pleased since I can’t walk him in the snow. Tried a variety of plastic bags and trash bags over the boot which all rip after a few minutes. Plus I slide all over the place. Thankfully doctor said I am still allowed to ski.

Eldora is great today! Another 7” overnight, some fresh stashes and everything is choppy. But since I am fresh off taking a bump clinic last weekend the chop seems easier...and fun! Taking a break after 6 ungroomed runs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
