Maybe The BC PR people could post some of the graphics from the presentation??? There are some gems that were announced last night that weren't just about racing. I was late and missed the first part. This is the second open forum meeting I have been to at BC and if there are ever anymore..... I can't stress enough, how top notch/top shelf the BC organization is and that everyone should try and attend to take note of how this mountain operates by attending a future meeting. Very Classy! The meeting consisted of about 50 people and was represented by every racing venue you can think of. There were College clubs looking for a home, Nastar enthusiasts, J4/5 parents from existing mountains, parents of interested very young racers, MACK and other ski club entrants, hard boot alpine, USASA, USSA, ASRA, PARA etc etc.. Then there was me yes, I want to see them go a slightly different route with training/competition services that offer coaching, training, closed course gates, for the developement of all disciplines. I think they would do better with co-mingling fee structures by including all the different venues. Think development of Competing snow lover. Either way, if there is any type of program that we can join for weeknight training then we will be there. Essentially they were gathering info on interest. I think that Mark was satisfied, in that no matter what he does with the proposed dedicated racing trails that they will likely be overbooked for the season. It seemed to me that there was more demand than he had trails. Discussion got to point of having 4 different lanes at one point. BTW - PASR was mentioned as a place to post comments, along with emails sent direct to marks@skibearcreek.com

I belive everything is well and septic down in that valley. For any density (read reasonable priced housing) they would need their own treatment plant. how is that trailer park managed? does anyone know? -
Check out the webcam on their homepage. The people there right now are ripping it up. It looks good by the air they are getting

The camera shows the jumps over in the tubing park. HOly crap, I just watched someone hit the triple jumps and whoever it was was sky high tearing it up!! Better get to BC while it lasts. We are headed up tonight!

Speaking of lighting up do they really need the trail lights to see what they are doing?

haha - it NOW really appears to me that Bode really didn't want to do the olympics, that he did them under duress and now he is doing what he wants to do. Go USST! Miller-Rahlves Dance Their Dance Six Times ARE, Sweden (March 16) - For the improbable sixth time in 15 and a half months, Bode Miller (Bretton Woods, NH) and Daron Rahlves (Sugar Bowl, CA), two of the most successful ski racers in World Cup - not just American - annals, have finished first and second, or tied for first, in a major race. It started at the VISA Birds of Prey downhill in Beaver Creek at the start of the 2005 season. Miller, who had just won his first World Cup downhill a week earlier at Lake Louise in the Canadian Rockies, held off Rahlves to win his second DH. Two months later at the 2005 World Championships in Bormio, Italy, Miller started third and proved untouchable in downhill - with Rahlves, running 21st, capturing the silver medal. At World Cup Finals in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, a year ago, Rahlves skied 22nd in the super G and posted the fastest time. Miller - by now the first World Cup overall champion from the United States in 22 years, since Phil Mahre in 1983 - came down two racers later...and deadlocked Rahlves. Earlier this season, they danced their two-step once more, again at the VISA Birds of Prey races...and they did it twice in 24 hours! Rahlves won the downhill with Miller second and the next day Miller survived near-spills in his second run to win the giant slalom with Rahlves second. Until Thursday, it was Miller?s lone victory of the 2006 season. He has 21 World Cup victories, Rahlves -the most decorated U.S. DH/SG racer - has 12 wins, nine in downhill, three in super G. A recap: Dec. 3, 2004 at Beaver Creek, Colo. - World Cup Downhill 1. Miller; 2. Rahlves (+.16) Feb. 5, 2005 at Bormio, ITA - World Championships DH 1. Miller; 2. Rahlves (+.44) March 11, 2005 at Lenzerheide, SUI - World Cup Finals Super G 1. (tie) Miller and Rahlves (-0-) Dec. 2, 2005 at Beaver Creek, Colo. - World Cup DH 1. Rahlves; 2. Miller (+.27) Dec. 3, 2005 at Beaver Creek, Colo. - World Cup GS 1. Miller; 2. Rahlves (+.49) March 16, 2006 at Are, SWE - World Cup Finals SG 1. Miller; 2. Rahlves (+.34)

ideas for camelback(winter)-cross posted from CB forums
Papasteeze replied to 4 more wars's topic in Camelback
There are no lights out west. lighted trails is a eastern phenonemen. There is no valid reason for lights. the snowmaking guys do not check the snow blowers that often to need lights, besides snowmobiles and spotlights would ever be all that is needed. I think CB does it to catch after hour poachers. -
c'mon dude, quit bringing it back up if it bothers you so much. Todays skiers are so much more tame than the european antics that went on in the past. I do not know all the ski racer characters by name but if some of them were doing what they did then, today... Face it, even our beloved CB plasters posters at the top of the lifts for alchoholic brews. Free tickets for samples etc etc .. alchohol is part of the scene. Why not call out CB for promoting and setting a poor example, why single out one very very talented individual? It could be that a lot of them are doing the same thing, we just don't know about it. Props to Bode for his honesty, it's refreshing in this day and age. If every one wants to get on thier high-horse so much, why not lobby to have alchohol on the list of banned substances. Afterall it is a stimulant, correct? He doesn't drink and race, don't be silly. Does anyone know that infamous night when his last drink was and when his starting time was? BTW - do you know Wina? I thnk she told me she was there. It's not rocket science to estimate blood achohol content at the time of the race. Sure he admits feeling bad caused by being out late, but imagined how Lyndsey must have felt, I bet she was hurting a lot more. it's just another impairment. Props to both of them for even trying to race. Matter of fact can you imagine how ratings would go up if guys were hurling themselves at 80mph while drinking. We all could get sponsored by our favorite brands. Lets have some fun with all of this. Extra points for skiing under the influence, now that takes some real balls to be that stupid. To hell with 80mph, lets add some additional difficulty to it. NASCAR would be so boring with out wrecks, lets make em drink before the race. Sarcasim......... Edit: please don't say that not getting enough sleep hurt his performance. I just recently read an article where the skier was so nervous that she hadn't slept in days prior to her GOLD!
