Yeah however, he will be hovering around between races - I am not formally signing him this weekend. We get there at 7:30 am -- he has a 50 second race in the morning and one 50 second race int he afternoon. out of 480 minutes he will be on the race course at least 2 of those minutes. the rest of the time will be spent with chilling in the park some practice turns and course inpsections..

Due to the crappy weather, we have been forced to cancel all events at Roundtop for this upcoming weekend. Again, Roundtop was disappointed to annouce the cancelations and looks forward to hosting our events in the future. Bewtwwen last night's rain and tommorrow's expected down pours for the area, Roundtop knew they would not be able to produce an adequate course for our competition. We will be re scheduling all events. Please stay post on our website for any and all unpdates. Thanks, Bill Van Gilder Mid-Atlantic Snowboard Series P.S. Please let any other competitors know about the changes. We may not have everyone's emails.

Blue Mtn free ride program is a steal of deal... I pay about the same for race team and I would pay the same for steven to be in a supervised program. I watched the guys at Blue and they are truly dedicated to helping all riders learn park much in the same way that race coaches are. I rode with some Cat team kids and I want to give props to Gus. The kids wanted me sign for them for some twin twip demos. I told them I couldn't not as long as race team was in practice. Well the kids went and asked permission and I think that those kids had a great time on the twins practicing jumping around switch, etc etc.. BTW - the converse is also true, I watched Steven really practice hard with racing today and he will be racing in a J4 at Blue tomorrow.... Of course I imagine you will see him on his twins or his board between races killing time. The point is is that is all good. Keep the fun in it while they are young. for sure! Another point I might add, The number one J4 at Blue rides the same set of Armada twins as steven and the number one kid at CB was the one who pestered me to sign for demo's today.

CB was Ok for me up to 3pm when it started raining - there are very thin conditions everywhere. The fog set in, Steven stayed out but came in soaking wet. I would assume that Blue is in the same condition. I am thinking it will be slushy tomorrow with lots of thin spots.

If you are from Bear and going to CB - you will probably be very disappointed in the park. If it is an option, you might consider BB in lieu of CB -

PASR day every day!! At the beginning of the season, I suggested a schedule that was tweaked based on comments, the original schedule was determined by the areas by where me an my gang would be at. Ridge is a Racer, Steven is a Park Rat, and I have the gear and a big mouth If you take a look at the calendar you should see that each weekend has a different place listed along with who supposed to host.. See ya Sunday!!

haha -- yeah I was saying that same thing after visiting last weekend. BB has new guns and the base is quality and deep.. I know that they also reshaped the jumps.
-
I would like to see it if it is from the USASA and has the skiers that were there in it!!
-
I don't think that the temps are going to drop enough to freeze everything like boilerplate. I am thinking corn snow - heavy granular and soft ice once the trails get scraped on sunday
-
Haha I just posted in the other thread.. Saturday is a wash - Sunday looks good! PASR DAY!! be there! http://www.erh.noaa.gov/ifps/MapClick.php?...ate=PA&site=PHI

Twins aren't a requirement for jumps and boxes..
-
Garrett County has an average annual snowfall of 100'. Snowfall to date for the 05.06 Season - 79'!!!!
-
It's open to both disciplines!
-
That sucks!! oh well, at least we won't feel guilty for missing it.

Speed suit will take 1/2 to a second off of your time.. Full mirrored razor edge and base tune another 1/4 - 1/2 second add a separate set of skis waxed, another 1/2 second. Go through 100 nastar races along with some coaching another 1-2 seconds. Best starting gate house technique another 1/2 second.. GO!!!!!!!!

^^^^^^^ Beachi, Chris neglected to say that he runs that program!!! My kid swears by it and had a great time participating in it the one time we could attend. They work one on one with you. While it might seem pricey for a day - I personally think it would fit your kid perfectfully. I bet he will come out of that program so stoked!! Try and make it over to Blue Mountain on sunday.

In lieu of structured training programs and park passes, you might consider letting him go into the park and encourage him to make some friends. keep an eye out but don't hover. Check your PM's - and get those twins back!! Volkl Doggens and you sold them? NOOOOOOO!

Goodness VT - I could write a book. I don't think my experience of my kids in the park is a great example. We skied primarily Elk for a couple of weekends and 1 week out west when my boys were getting their legs.. Elk had a jump or two and maybe a rail.. Steven was always in the trees and shooting out into the trails. Ridge would just ski behind me always on my tails. I would have to ski faster and faster to keep him from running over me.. OK - the park.. We really didn't see any parks around here we saw them out west. Our first awakening to park etiquette was in SnowBird Utah. We found the hidden big park.... Steven skis down around and scopes some 50 and 70 footers, I am taggin along. All of the sudden a late teenager or older comes skiing up to me and angrily tells me that I should not bring little kids into that park. All of the sudden.. a guy goes flying by spinning inverted. uhhhhh.. Holy crap!! I never let steven grind rails initially, (tears up the skis) I got him some park lessons in Colorado when he was 7 and the instructors let me hang, so the basics were taught early on. We have a standing rule that lessons are to be taken every year. To this day, I frequently hang in the park trying to help others learn the basics of smart style. To this day, I still remind Steven to call drop and call it frequently. Big Boulder and soon to be, Shawnee have great beginner parks. I think all mountains should have some tiny features or bumps that beginners can play around (open to everyone) and that any park with features and jumps should be required to have a pass to enter. In general, I think kids beg their parents to let them go into the park and the unsuspecting unaware parent grudginly gives and makes the run with them. Parents want their kids to have fun. They are out for a weekend, maybe a couple of times a year and just don't know. That is why there should be park passes. No different than when you race. You have to register and it is in an area designated as such.

http://www.skiroundtop.com/campic/rtcam_toshiba_3.jpg I would be taking steven over if my parents weren't coming all the way up from South Carolina this weekend. Yeah things are really starting to suck all over, no doubt. At least the Fall rail jams didn't have rocks in the in runs..
