I had forgotten (didn't actually know ) that Sunday is SuperBowl! It should be a great day to come out with crowds down due the game. There is a J4 GS race so you can get a glimpse of some rocketing 11 & 12 year olds. THere is the FreeRide program. Join their class, they have a day rate of $75 for 4-5 hours instruction. I know that they will be eager to help anyone who wants to refine or learn some park skills. Or rip some laps with our resident vertical extremist.. Doug I am easy to spot. Look for a wild black and white jacket, actually you won't have to look for it, it will find you Chime in if you are going to be there.

BLue should be great on Sunday - The crowds should be down due to Super bowl Sunday!! If you are getting there early park in the lower lot!! LOOK for the Black H2

This thread was dedicated to letting everyone know of the best prepatory clinic prior to the Nastar Nationals available in Steamboat. I don't think it matters how or where or what Gary Dranow races in, nor does it matter how Gus races or where or even if.... It matters more how they coach. Gary is a Nastar fanantic/expert and has some talented support with the likes of a coach and gate setter like Warren Wilkinson, as evidenced by his setting of a course for Schlopy. Let me repeat on how I started this thread: Lets keep this topic civil. If you do not have anything nice to say or ask in a civil way then please keep your comments to yourself. This is an opportunity to get an inside line on what the actual event might look like. I have first hand eyewitness information, verification and insight on the benefits. The clinic is pricey but I feel it is worth it for this event if you are planning on going to Steamboat at the end of March to compete in the Nastar Nationals.

Well he was listed on the JF GS race, but not this one. Seems strange.

Welcome casimir!!!! Great to have you aboard!!! Ski patrol provides a valuable service, thanks for chiming in and speaking up!
-
Thats a sure indication that Nipples was there. You know you ski or ride a lot when you didn't realize that this weekend is Superbowl weekend

Hit up parkbuilder on here for some info.. He's got skills, but his primary responsibility is the park - He will know who is who. PM him!! -
We will be there early Sunday too.. Valley lot Black H2 - hit me up for stickers!!
-
that seems weird.. head coach kid not listed?? I know he did well in the SL and middle of the pack in the GS...
-
I used Dr.D's warm on Sunday on one ski - definite positive difference. However I thought it was weird that I could only scrape it warm. It gets really brittle.
-
Yeah - I emailed them about that but I have not heard anything back...
-
wait.... I am confused, there were racers there that are not posted on the Derby standings? THe Steinbachs of Montage fame for example is misssing?

Click on this website to get all the details. I know you are young but I don't remember how young. NIpples won't be there. We will be in Breck http://www.snowboardseries.com/

ok, well that is great news then.. All he needs to do is hold together his runs at Blue on Sunday. I may move him back to his "old" skis for that reason... I believe he took nearly a 1/2 a second off on a 20 second course with his new sticks, if he doesn't need to race to win to qualify for the Derbies then he should hold back so that he doesn't wipe out and blow the invite. BTW TURKO has a sister and had the fastest SL time on the first race of everyone (including boys) last saturday!!!

it was looking good from the shadows I could see across the road on Sunday

The Slopestyle event at Roundtop will go on as scheduled! Boardercross and Halfpipe competitions scheduled for Roundtop have been postponed. Roundtop regrets to inform us that the mild temperatures have forced them to cancel the boardercross and halfpipe events due to lack of snow. They feel bad to have to make such a decision as they enjoy hosting our events, but they do not want to offer the athletes sub-par conditions in a competition of this nature. We will be rescheduling both of these events in the very near future. Please stay posted.

UPDATE!!!!!!!! We were at BB on Sunday 1/28 and surprised by the amount of base there. The new owners and new guns definitly pumped it out. Under the radar.... check em out!

Want some cheese with that whine?

Jeeeeeeez for the fourth time today.. I have never said anything negative about any racing program, other than the Wilmington Ski Club that I can remember. I question why and people don't like that, I label and people don't like that. I just call em like I see em. I would be racing in these various programs however, there is not enough time in the day after I cart around my kids. They come first. Last weekend was 4 different ski areas between the 2 boys and thier mother was in Cancun! We have season passes to CB that I doubt I will be using again this season.........................
-
It happens in Nastar too.
-
I haven't been to CB in the last 2 weekends now. I may be there Saturday however, there is strong possibilty I will be at RT for a USASA comp then blue sunday for the J4's - My parents are also in town. Then Breck for the next 2 weekends Then RT for the derbies Then Killington I guess if they are still open 3/12 think they will still be running Nastar then? something tells me that something else will come up for 3/12. Which BTW, where do the J4 kids go if they do well at the Derbies? Is there another race somewhere? HAHA - we ended up going to BLue on that Saturday

Our posts are off the hook - NJSkiFamily wrote it here this morning. BTW props for getting into the park!

It's too bad that you see only negativity and not the fact that I think all racing programs are great! It's also hillarious that you can openly stoop to the level of calling me ignorant. Thank god that I will never stoop that low. Uh - what? I have seen skiers hook gates on Nastar courses.. One guy went off on a stretcher from BC last year.
