2/29/20...nice snow...sort of busy
RidgeRacer replied to GrilledSteezeSandwich's topic in Blue Mountain
Fun day but skied shorter than I would have liked because the lift situation is crap. Lines at the quad got silly just before the 6 pack started to run around 9:45 or so. Snow on challenge and main were nice first thing. Switchback sucked. Patrol dropped the rope on widow maker but beacon, shovel and a buddy were required. Overall a fun day. Oh and I got whistled at on Burma. At first I thought it was because they thought I was hot and were hitting on me but it turns out I was just skiing too fast. -
Yes blue. Would cost me more with gas to go to Montage. Location factors into it also.
-
Then "Best Deal in PA" cannot be used to describe the $299 Montage pass offer. "A heck of a deal" or "Best value for me" would certainly be more apropos.
-
I'm curious to know if he's researched and skied all of the mountains in PA to come up with his "best deal in PA" hypothesis. I would think that in order to make a statement such as that you would have to have at least skied every single resort in Pennsylvania (seven springs, blue knob, etc) then compiled each resorts pass price to determine which offers the best value per dollar spent, not to mention consider each skier in Pennsylvania's location to figure out if it's feasible to drive to Montage from their location. Such a broad statement certainly requires some scientific data to back it up in my opinion. I would think that a skier in Pittsburgh would disagree with his assessment that Montage offers the best value.

I'm 100% purchasing an ORDA pass of some sort next year.

Yes....those extra long "suppers" can be a real pain in the ass sometimes. See you Saturday. I'll bring a bag of candy so I don't feel so bad about mooching a beer off of you.

Meanwhile another 15 plus fell in N VT / ADKs. Why the hell do I live here again?
-
I'm feeling a bit guilty about it though.

Couldn't get out in time this evening. Have fun.

2/29-3/1 weekend roll call thread.

Probably Saturday mornin'. Could be out last weekend of cold temps. -
Hell yeah dude. This is awesome. So freaking jealous. Like the song choices too. Salty if that's you at 1 min 25 sec ...WTGAI! You've improved big time.

How were the stars? Good view of the milky way?

There's nothing in that post worth congratulating.
-
They better fix that. Edit...Disregard. I see it's working now.

What a couple of days. Nice work gentlemen. In case you're wondering...The usual here, fog and rain. We all of a sudden have become the Pacific NW...minus the grunge culture, coffee shops and a stratovolcano overlooking the city.
-
Sounds good! Depending on the weather though the jacket may come off and it could very well be straight speedo.
-
I plan on wearing that outfit for the PASR party this year.

Stoked for you Salty

You have a legit gripe on this one. Let 'em have it Saltman. Getting fucked like that on a powder days warrants free shit IMO.
-
When school groups are there I can understand that certainly. In late Feb / March however when you have the place to yourself, conditions are great and there's a warm breeze in the air, it's hard to beat. Or maybe we just really really missed you Toast!! Geez.

Creamer from Hunter Mountain grass fed cows. These cows were born and raised on a dairy farm nestled in the shadows of Hunter peak. Needless to say it's the greatest creamer on earth.
-
Because HUNTER mountain is the sickest place on earth. So great in fact that I hear they're considering adding "hole" to the name because of it rivals Jackson Hole....Hunter Hole. And anyone who skis PA over Hunter Hole is an Ass Hole. I also heard that they're considering blasting a Coulior into the mountain with dynamite that will rival Corbett's. Heliskiing will also be offered at hunter next year as well because the Hunter cloud that sits permanently atop the lofty Hunter peak drops upwards of 700 inches on the mountain. That's a little known fact that only Epic pass holders know...but it's true.

Damn. Today is probably a save your peeps for later, get in line early kinda day fellas.
