I can't believe it's been 9 years already!

That's it right there. The biggest mistake was going with 100% fan guns. That may work ok for Boulder, but they are in a colder climate. You want different guns in marginal temps, which BC is very prone to getting especially early season. Don't get me wrong, they will put out a lot of snow quick when it's cold, but it has to be cold. All the good it is when you get a cold snap for a few days and can open with almost 100% terrain only to have a thaw for over a week and then you can't make snow. I know I haven't been on here in awhile, but if you go back through my old posts you will see I mentioned this before several times. People thought I was crazy, but the OG's on here know that when it comes to snowmaking, I know what I'm talking about.

Haha. I was actually thinking of coming back a few days ago when I saw the lights on. In case anyone has been wondering where I've been, it's been a very rough year for me. My grandmother's health really went downhill starting back in January. To make matters worse her mind starting going with it. Then back in early May her leg gave out and broke just above the knee. After her surgery her mind started getting worse and then her leg wound up not healing properly. Then a complication occurred and they wanted to remove her foot, but my mother and grandfather decided they didn't want to do that. Long story short we wound up having to put her in a nursing home and at the end of August she passed away. I never got a chance to go skiing last winter because I got so busy taking care of my grandmother. I had to put a lot of stuff on hold while I helped take care of her so for the past few months I've been busy. Hopefully I'll at least get a few chances to get out again this year.

Tubing rakes in a lot of money for ski resorts. Proof is in stand alone tubing hills (those not a ski resorts) that can run all season long with just tubing.

If you email blue you will never get a response unless you have someones direct email address. Knowing them if you email them something negative don't expect to get a reply.

That and I think they aren't properly training the people who are making snow. Sounds to me like this year they were running with too much water in the old air/water guns. If they ran the old air/water guns with too much water in marginal conditions (they only have old air/water guns on Main Street) that explains the poor snow quality, especially after grooming. Blue normally has poor snow quality in the beginning, but this year it sounds even worse then in prior years. That's why I suspect they aren't training people properly, the experienced people are slacking off, or they just rushed like hell to get open. I will say this. There were nights I would look on the web cam and I was surprised they were making snow. When I would check nearby weather stations, it was near impossible to make snow. Snowmaking is an art. Take some inexperienced average Joe off the street and don't train them decently, you get poor snow quality.

I saw something on WFMZ tonight about the wind turbine they plan on putting in. They went up on Tuts Lane by the 6 pack or quad and showed the test tower they have in place. In the background you could see they had snow going on Tut's Lane.

That's Main Street and they always focus on Main Street in the beginning. Lazy Mile will likely open up during the second week if the weather stays cold, but I think last year they opened Lazy Mile the first day?

I'm your height but about 10 pounds lighter. I've got a BARELY used 154cm Lamar Mission board and bindings I'm looking to get rid of. I only used it twice I think, I just didn't like snowboarding that much like I thought I would have. Let me know if your interested and I'll gladly ship it if your not local. Edit: It's also last years model board and bindings.

My father and I were laughing so hard when they asked the girl how long she had been snowboarding on her first day. When she said 10 minutes, I think we laughed for about 10 minutes. That sucks breaking both wrists though. Your going to need someone to wipe your ass

Right now we have some snow trying to mix in and it's 35.1

Seven Springs is nicely set up. I haven't skied it but I stayed there at the resort hotel for a corporate party a few years back. The size and atmosphere reminded me a lot of bear creek, but I think it was better then BC. One thing is for sure, the place is an absolute zoo on weekends since that is pretty much the only place to ski at out there.

I saw this on the news. I guess they still didn't get it contained yet. The smoke from the those fires travels pretty far. In June we went down to the shore to pickup something and at the time there was a forest fire in NC. The way the wind was blowing that day it caused the smoke to come all the way up to MD/Lower DE.

The handcuffs must have been from a cop. Blue Mountains ski patrol is only allowed to carry Chinese fingertraps.

I'm pretty sure that if you bought a pass at blue and then got a job there, they refund your money that you spent on the pass. I wouldn't see how it would be any different at BC. Someone correct me if I'm wrong though about blue doing this, but I'm pretty sure they do.
