  1. I hope it's on the same episode with the guy with a deadly weapon. I know that was at blue because it was in the paper.
  2. Here is the thread with Mark Miller: http://www.paskiandride.com/forums/index.p...l=backpack+lube
  3. I was thinking to myself in the last post how funny it would have been if they had interviewed you. "This is GrilledSteezeSandwich from PASR I got here at 7am and got some fresh POE. Switchback is good but don't tell anyone. Always use smartstyle and look before you leap and watch out for Mark Miller and his frozen lube. I gotta go and bust a flow on the new 6 pack that really boots you up there quick." At least that would spice up the show a bit Yeah that part in skiing mag was definitely from Crystal Mountain. When I was reading the article from Morning Call I didn't realize they were talking about both places in the article. When I read about the search for a lost skier in the backcountry I thought they meant it was at blue. Even though blue has no backcountry I figured they were just looking for a lost skier on the mountain and said backcountry to spice things up. Could you image getting lost in the backcountry of Palmerton Heck if you get lost at blue that's just as pathetic.
  4. In Wegmans I took a look at the article in Skiing Magazine and couldn't help but laugh. I thought it was funny when they said something along the lines of, "The victims life is in the patrollers hands as he navigates the victim to the base of the mountain. If the patroller makes an incorrect move he knows the victim will plummet 3000' to his death." A

    Goggles?

My bad, I guess I didn't know what polarized meant after all But yeah, I think it would be hard to find goggles today (even cheap ones) that aren't UV protected.

    Goggles?

This pretty much sums it up. Goggles that aren't UV rated won't protect your eyes from UV rays from the sun. It would be like wearing sunglasses that aren't polarized, they are worthless because they aren't doing what they should be doing. Nah, he just has the keyboard memorized so well that he can type blindly
  7. I've got a 154cm Lamar Mission Board with bindings if your at all interested. Only used twice because I didn't really like snowboarding that much. Since I don't think I'll get out often this year I was planning on getting rid of it. I'd be willing to ship it if your at all interested. Just shoot me a PM with your email address if your interested and I can shoot some pics for you.
  8. I actually caught an episode of this about a month or so ago. It was kind of funny to watch. There was one where a guy and his buddy where involved in a hit and run. The cops found them a few blocks away in their damaged car. The passenger ratted out his driver friend and they got in a huge fight in front of the cops. Since there were no other witnesses the driver got off and they made up. Then someone drove their car over a bridge into a river somewhere between Bethany and Dewey and then fled the scene. I think out of the whole episode there were two incidents on the beach. First was some underage kid drinking and the second from some kid having a heat stroke on the beach.
  9. For anyone that cares there was an article about it in The Morning Call yesterday: http://www.mcall.com/news/local/all-b1_1sk...0,5073954.story
  10. The lows look nice, but I just hope they stay like that and don't change in a few days. I also hope that we don't wind up with an early thaw if the season starts early.
  11. I was driving home tonight and saw they had the lights on. It was nice to see them on, but then I realized it was still mid October and we have about another month or so to go until any snowmaking. I guess they are getting ready for Rock the fall, but it was still nice to see them on
  12. That's how I felt when blue turned come around into a terrain park. But it's such a small trail nobody really skied it anyway so I didn't really care. I was a little mad when they made Sidewinder a park because that was an awesome trail to ski, but to make up for it they finished Razors Edge.

    Jay Peak

I just read an article about this a few weeks ago. I was trying to find it now to post it here, but can no longer find it.
  14. I guess I didn't see it then.
  15. I was looking around on the blue site and noticed they keep boasting they have 33 trails. So I went to look at the trail map to see if they updated it and put on the new trail that is taking forever to get cut. Turns out they did update the map to say the trail is "under construction". This may be old, but this is my first time seeing it. Even if they make the new trail two trails, where is the other trail to give them 33 runs? Is it not on there or are they going to name the new trail Upper, Middle, and Lower http://www.skibluemt.com/SkiBlue/info/moun.../trail-map.aspx
  16. I've got a Barrecrafters rack here, with the instructions. It's for the gutter mount/door jam of your car/suv and is adjustable. Worked surprisingly good and better than I thought. It's probably not what your looking for but I'm willing to let it go cheap. It's taking up room and I was planning to but it on ebay later this winter. I even have the keys for the locks I think. I can post more details on it if you want.
  17. About an hour after writing this I almost smashed two squirrels on the main road that connects to my development. I came around the curve and went into the other lane to avoid one squirrel. As I got in the other lane, another jumped out into the road .
  18. The squirrels have been going crazier then normal around here lately in my backyard gathering and hiding nuts.
  19. That's pretty much what it comes down to. You will still find some resorts that are so used to air/water guns refusing to try fan guns or even an automated snowmaking system. Some mountains think it's crazy to cover a large area with pee shooter guns (air/water guns) and use a fan gun. Other resorts think the fan gun is expensive, a pain to move, and will just use 5 air/water guns. Fan guns make better quality snow in warmer temps, but there comes a point where snowguns all make the same quality snow when the temps drop. Of course you can make high quality snow with an air/water gun. It just matters whose running it and how much water they are feeding it. You can make really high quality snow with an air/water gun at marginal temps if you aren't going crazy on the water.
  20. This was in The Morning Call yesterday and I never got around to posting it. Talks about the Fall Festival and some of their improvements for off season activities. http://www.mcall.com/news/local/all-b1_1bl...0,1495917.story
  21. If you can get in touch with ski, he would be the one to talk to about this.
  22. Yeah it's all good. I know what you were saying, but I think they are actually OWNED by one another and not just connected just because Peak buys from SMI. But like I said, it might actually turn out that they aren't owned by one another as I had previously thought/heard.
  23. I think it's funny how I voted for Alpine Skiing, but it shows 0% for alpine skiing. Figure skating has 83%, and snowboarding only has 8%?
  24. Look, I don't want to get this entire thread off topic and closed because of a minor discrepancy. I heard this from someone on a home snowmaking forum, whether it's actually true or not, I don't know. I did email Peak Resorts to ask after you said they weren't, but I haven't heard back from Peak, and mostly likely won't. But SMI has really grown fast over the past few years (in fact they almost doubled the size of their facility) and it's because they have really started to take over the snowmaking market with people seeing how much snow their fan guns can make. I was never getting at other mountains were only buying fan guns because they saw how much snow BB made from them It is helping SMI to some point because you don't see many mountains buying Turbocristal or Areco guns. SMI getting business from other mountains when they see Peak Resorts opening fast is my personal opinion. There is a video on youtube from CNN money where Mount Snow credited the new fan guns for allowing them to open early, and I think the first VT resort last year. As I said above, I heard SMI owned Peak Resorts or Peak Resorts owned SMI, I just didn't know who owned who. It turns out this may just be a rumor, I was just stating what I heard from elsewhere. Many corporations own other companies/corporations and being both are in the winter sports industry it makes sense, especially since Peak Resorts was buying tons of SMI guns. Snowmaking companies do sometimes offer contracts with mountains, and may be that's what SMI did with Peak Resorts because Peak is only installing SMI fan guns at their mountains from the looks of it. The whole point of my post was BB opened early last year because they were able to use the fan guns to their full advantage with cold temps. I'm saying it can happen again this year, provided we get the same weather. But if it's only marginal snowmaking weather it will take them longer to open up because a fan gun flows less water in marginal conditions. I was also just stating their are better guns for use in marginal snowmaking weather compared to fan guns. I hope this clears everything up, I didn't mean to upset anyone!
  25. It's not publicly known, but they are both owned by the same company. Like I said I don't know who owns who, but they are all tied together.
