  1. I think I saw you calling me from the lift once. But no more. IDK why, but I felt so cold today. Left around 11, probably right in time for roads to start getting bad. Super envious of anyone who will be skiing the next few days.
  2. Crowds weren't actually that bad as the last weekend, maybe because lifties were really proactive with putting more people on a bench than just one or two. Worked really great. They were pulling singles left and right and dispatching them as a new family. I can't get over how bad Lazy was compared to everything else. Firm and uneven. How can they screw up grooming so badly when the weather is so perfect??
  3. I'd say that it should be in your interests that the line moves as smooth as possible. That includes yelling at the other guy who was paired up with you but decided that he'd rather ride solo at the very last moment. Yeah, that happens really often these days too. Some rebel by not wearing any mask, some would quickly forget the 20 min wait that they had to endure and would rather reward themselves for all the sufferings with a royal ride to the top. For both kinds of extremes there are lifties that generally can knock some common sense into the selfish heads. I hope that those who don't bother because they don't feel like they're paid enough for it, don't stay lifties for too long. Can't wait for this pandemic to be over, at least so that I can see again how individualistic asses are getting smashed together 4 or 6 on one bench like in good old times and lifts working to their designed capacity.
  4. It's not about thresholds. It's about common sense. Riding alone or only two per six-bench increases your time in line and all the associated risks. But anyway, the cribbing was not about individual decisions. It was about lack of initiative on the attendant's part. All he had to do was to offer, but I guess he was too cold to open his mouth one extra time.
  5. If you were offered to share 6-pack with another pair and you declined, I'm inclined to call you a paranoid fool 'cause you chose to breath same air with a tons of other people foot away instead of leaving them behind and enjoying the breeze.
  6. Yeah, that's the thing. Sometimes they do, but that guy was just too lazy to even bother. It was easier for him to wave his hand and just send another group of 2 to take the entire bench than to ask if someone else would be OK riding with them. And two pairs on a 6-pack would fit lovely. Like two pairs of lovebirds on a perch. And hell, most people really are reasonable, all you have to do is to ask. There are some individuals of course who seem to think that unless they get the entire bench to themselves the nasty COVID will crawl out of the neighbor's ass and will get to them before they're even half way up. I'm super puzzled how these folks just don't drop dead holding their breath while they're standing in this super-long self-induced line and don't throw away their clothes each time they get home from skiing.
  7. When we pulled the plug at noon, the snow was still very skiable and we were really sorry to go. Unfortunately the lines grew out of control. Our last wait for express was 20 mins, and that's when we said that enough is enough. To make things worse, the attendants have really stopped trying to fill the chairs. One young guy was just sending couples and even singles to ride by themselves on the six-pack, and nobody seemed to care. - Two? After them. - Single? Go! Damn it.
  8. Yo, @saltyant! I'm all set to follow your footsteps over the spring break. Who cares about French hoops or Italians behind closed borders, right? They'll be sorry they're not letting anyone in. And the value of this thread has just increased tenfold for me, I hope you'll be documenting your every sneeze and turn!
  9. I wouldn't call trail conditions great today. Sugar formed way too soon on most of the trails, lower Lazy turned into a complete shit by noon, though the upper one stayed probably the best on the whole mountain. Two trails closed for snowmaking: Challenge and Switchback. Low crowds, great skiing, but best part was the Epic weather! While people in Utah whine and moan about getting core shots on the rocks instead of the promised champagne, while some skis there get 5 years older after spending just a single day on the slopes, at Blue it's dumping! I could hardly find my way down once and was really sorry I didn't hire a guide!
  10. If only one could get there somehow.
  11. Btw, how is it usually in UT at the end of March? Thinking of going somewhere for spring break, may as well use this thread as an inspiration.
  12. People are saying that UT skiing is shit right now. Crowd-wise and snow ice-wise: https://www.skitalk.com/threads/2020-2021-utah-resorts-weather-conditions-and-stoke.20623/page-14 How true is all of that?
  13. Not a bad idea. GSS needs to post it on their FB.
  14. Why either or? You can split the costs with @AtomicSkier AND feel rich for a whole week.
  15. Nothing. It just goes against prior Salty's "I'll go for ski in/out no matter what it costs" and his claimed love for cozy little places.
  16. What?? Didn't you say that you liked all those little towns? I'll stop following your trip, if you stay at SLC.
  17. I saw a guy not wearing any mask at all (not half mask, not turtle neck, nothing at all) getting all the way to the chair. Attendant told him to put the mask on, the guy says "yeah, yeah", makes a lazy attempt to reach into his pocket while advancing to the red line, then puts half retrieved mask back and gets ready to board. Attendant doesn't say anything else, for he did what he was instructed to do, the guy also reached the mask-free zone, so that could be the end of it. But then the lift stops. Attendant doesn't say a word, the lift doesn't move, the guys is still on his feet and is starting to get nervous. Awkwardly reaches back into his pocket, pulls out the dirtiest ever blue medical mask, puts it on, looks at the attendant, but he just shrugs for the stop turned out to be totally unrelated. Eventually the lift starts moving again, the guy lands his ass on the chair, departs and immediately shoves the mask back into his pocket.
  18. Wow, go figure. Was probably the worst trail in the morning.
  19. That's a waste of dough. 'cause some will get nothing again, and they do too like season passes.
  20. @GrilledSteezeSandwich, what were you doing between 7:20 and 9am in that lower lot? I thought, morning margaritas were being served only at the closing ceremony?
  21. Today was gorgeous. Great snow, low crowds, smooth lift operation and a lovely attendant at the quad. Beautiful, in short.

    Zee Lights

'cause you'll be stuck with me in line for quad.

That's awesome. Don't come to the slopes tomorrow morning though.
  24. Ã…ctually, good point. I once missed the last chair up and had to take a shuttle. I wonder how that would work out these days, with no shuttle service.
  25. Think of it this way: you start low and finish low. Upper lodgers start high and finish high. For PA that's something.
