Not sure where to share this, but I found this patch while going through some of my Dad's military collection. I can only assume this is from when he went to training at Great Lake Naval Station just north of Chicago. I remember that he told me he tried skiing a few times when in the Navy but only because it was also a Playboy resort which made it hard for me to believe him. My aunt eventually confirmed this was true and he also took her to try skiing at Apple Hill. This all checks out as some quick research from Navy archives shows that bus trips were made when sailors had leave time on weekends to Lake Geneva Playboy Club (now Grand Geneva Resort). Anyway, I thought it was a cool patch.

That would be nice! Won't impact going out there either way because a change of scenery is always nice, but some more base would be nice. As I have previously heard, it's all about that base.

Morning up at the only ski area in the Water Gap celebrating their 50th year in operation. My pics aren't as good as Live2SkiLife but I tried. It was pretty empty there today and conditions were fantastic. While small, the high speed lift makes it much more tolerable. I enjoy the trails here and would like to get back to do some uphill before the season closes out.

How is your knee feeling with resting it for a while?
