Got the XC skis out along the D&L yesterday morning after a work meeting. Quite lovely and really enjoyed how peaceful it was with the quietness of the snow and nobody around.

Not bad today. I enjoyed the heater being on for the top 1/2.

Should be up this afternoon. I did some ghetto boot work so hopefully that helps a bit 🤞

Appreciate that intel. I've spent more time than I need to tonight researching boots and technica as been top of the list so far from what I've read.

Yeah, left foot is almost a full size longer and right foot is significantly wider. The Morton's neuroma is worsened by compression so I need find something wide and soon. It was fine until ski season when compressing my foot into my boot. I guess it just got used to having space and once it got back in ski boot prison it got worse. Same thing happened out in Verbier many years back and had some boot work done out there to help because it was to the point where I'd almost pass out taking my boot off from the pain, but I guess things have just gotten worse in my advanced age..

yeah, me too. I need something wider for my fucking fat foot.

Hospital sunrise

Took the afternoon away from work today to get in some last minute XC strides and glides before the snow all melted away. Stopped at Illick's Mill and Monocacy Park to check things out and ended up taking the tracks out and back to explore that area. Super quiet and peaceful back there along the water which is what I love about taking these out. Just a lovely afternoon.

I really want to take my skis to a nordic center and try them out rather than break trail. That looks like fun there!

Snuck out yesterday after work while it was still snowing for some xc miles at Bethlehem municipal 9-hole golf course and some of the little league fields. Felt great getting in some movement on snow and xc boots don't hurt my foot anywhere near as much as downhill boots right now so that is a win. Maybe go out for an evening mile or two or possibly tomorrow while there is still some snow around. Gotta embrace it since last year wasn't feasible. There were 3 other sets of tracks out there from what looks like the last snowstorm. Nice place to just cruise around.

Oh, now I'm definitely interested.
