Hard left at the top of timberline. Follow the bike trail down. Brings you out behind the pond behind f chair. Just be mindful of the rock drops back there.
The past couple years they've left it ungroomed. Sunday is a stretch though as they'll groom Saturday night and you'll only have a few inches of fresh stuff.
Forgot all about them. Either way, if you go to bear or spring Saturday you'll be cross country skiing. High winds and wet snow on a mountain with no pitch is going to be terrible.
From what I've seen at bear creek most of the tom dick and Harry's don't use poles and are often the same people who buy a ticket Friday night thinking its good for the whole weekend etc so you have a better chance of catching those people by scanning the ones without poles.
It was nice only living 15 minutes from it the past 4 years. Luckily I still have places to crash in Kutztown. Go up Friday before the snow starts, wake up Saturday and make the trek to bear creek.
Exactly the reason I may be going to bear instead of jfbb Saturday. There's some good woods skiing to be had off the timberline side of the mountain. Especially where the bike trails are.
