  1. Cameltop is awesome, especially that loft section. I wouldn't know about the food because I don't eat there, but it's a great place to relax. I wish it was open more.
  2. It's amazing what setting the rails up right can do. A couple of times over the last couple of years they had them set up like described in that post and it is a huge improvement over what is usually there.
  3. I like skiing in the day when I'm supposed to be at school. I also like late afternoon, because you still have natural light, but its not flat and hard to see the texture of the snow because of glare.
  4. Your url is wrong. I think you meant http://www.heckler.com/ramps/ I'm building a drop in that is 5' high. From some ideas discussed in a carpet skiing topic. Carpet Skiing towards the end. Tell us more of what you are looking for and I'm sure we can help you, there's a lot of talented people here.
  5. I have an alibi. I hope not too much was damage was done.
  6. If that is true it would be an awesome place for the park. Much better than where it was last season.
  7. I've done Nile Mile really fast, I think it reasonable to say it could be done in 2 minutes, but I can't really judge because I don't have a very good sense of time when I'm riding. I'd say < 3 is a good estimate. And as the original idea of this topic - 2:10 (if there's no rangers)
  8. 100' vertical? I thought it was less then that, but you may right maybe from the Sullivan lift to the highest point. ... Ok it's about 50' vertical from the Stevenson to the peak and about 100' from the Sullivan lift to the peak, but the highest point straight out from the sullivan is only 20' higher. BTW Highest point on camelback is 2133' above sea level. Courtesy www.topozone.com
  9. I'm not sure, but it may be because it is a state park. Or maybe to keep people off the back side. And it's only 20' or so from the peak.
  10. I've thought about something like that a few years ago. I don't think it will revolutionize snowboarding, but it would be pretty cool for cross country.
  11. Where is it?
  12. What about a pass that they could offer for an extra $25-$50 just to get on the lift early that way we could get what we want and they would get some extra income without wasting too much money.
  13. With there prices so high already what they are offering is not worth the extra $100 to me, but I realy don't think I'm the kind of person there targeting with the primium passes anyway.
  14. Nice. I really have to get my carpet skiing setup done. I hate having to work.
  15. Early access to lifts would be great, but the season passes are already high enough. There is no way I would pay an extra $100 for better dining facilities. I never eat there anyway. They would have to add more ski related incentives before I would think about getting it. ( how about a get out of jail free card for when you get caught by the rangers? )
  16. I like the idea of a locker room only for season passholders. At CB they have a room with season lockers, but it is open to the public. So when there are school groups or lots of tourists it get crammed full of lots of people I'd rather not be surrounded by. Does blue have a suggestion box? Or you could e-mail them. I'm sure if you got enough people suggested it they would at least give it some thought.
  17. Is it going to be on Switch from now on? I think that set up sucks. There is not enough room to set a lot of stuff up and I hated how the rails were all bunched together at the bottom. They need more room to set it up good. And how is putting it on a different trail going to solve the problem of injuries? Were they just because of how steep the trail was?
  18. Wow. I wish I paid attention in spanish class. I stopped caring after a while. Wait that would have involved effort, Nevermind. (or i could run that through a translator, but I stopped caring about that too.) [edit] Wow. I just realized this topic was about Blue, I hope that's what you were talking about.
  19. I wonder if they made enough improvements to the snowmaking system to open all of there trails this year! The last time I was at Montage the bottom to top lift was not even running. I'm not sure if it was mechanical or personnel problems (or the just didn't feel like opening it). They could have a good park if they actually put it on the trail it is supposed to be on, but that goes back to the not opening trails issue. Sorry if it sounds like I'm bashing Montage I'm just pointing out some obvious problems. Montage is a great mountain and hopefully that money will help them fix some of them.
  20. I think a good idea would be to have an "other PA mountains" topic with a sticky at the top specifically explaining that when a mountain generates enough interest It will be given its own topic and, if there is enough interest it will be moved to the main page. I think that a sticky post is a must because even though most of the people who have been here a while know how adding other mountains works, someone who just found the site probably will not. If they see that their home mountain is not represented they may lose interest.
  21. Sounds doable, How wide is yours? The width of the ply wood? I was thinking about making it narrower, but 2' wide seems too narrow. 3' sounds good, but you cant do much with the 1' left over.
  22. What did you use for the ramp? I was thinking of building one, just out of a few 2x4s and some plywood. About how much speed do you get with a 5' drop in? Thanks. (BTW the pic in your signature is awesome)
  23. I think someone who has done some carpet skiing should make a topic about it explaining how to do it and what it's like. I'm sure many of us would like to know. Our basement was also flooded and we are getting rid of the carpet that was down there so I may have to try it. (I hope it didn't get thrown out yet)
  24. You have to have a really good air conditioner and it would be really expensive. Speaking of ice rinks, how cold do they keep them? Maybe we can sneak a snow gun in. A rail session would be really cool. It wouldn't even have to be big. Maybe a make a video to promote the site and just to have some fun. Hey! I have a pickup truck!
  25. Were they advertising it anywhere other than there website? The only reason I know about it was from PASR I would not have heard of it otherwise because they only put the details on there website a week ago. Oh well if there is a big turn out then maybe I'll actual be better than some one. Also does anyone know it there will be some time to warm up before the comp.
