    Mmmmm

    Horsey sauce. Can't beat it.
  5. Challenge was better the second time I skied it around 10am. Switchback was decent as was Curzies. Most everything else was kinda rough but facttorring in the way the weather has been the conditions are pretty good. Thanks for getting my car in your pics.

  8. Everything Ski2live posts is bait. Be there sunday. You know, at blue.
  9. Today was one of those bluebird days that make me happy my friends took me on that first ski outing so many years ago. Skied a morning session with Hyata from opening bell until noon. Some morning stiffness but everything softened into nicely carvable snow quickly. Can't complain about any of the trails while I was there. I do wish challenge and switchback were open. Bummer to see them full of snow whales but not groomed out, although it was evident that there were quite a few skiers who poached runs on switchback. Enjoyed a lift ride with root, good to see him again.
  10. Really nice day on the hill today, good snow, hard to choose an ROTD. Stayed a little later than usual. Be back on wednesday.
  11. I almost drove up for a night session yesterday. Been a long time since skied under the lights.
  12. The three high speed lifts move a lot of people. Does anybody still park at the summit?
  13. Did they have any snow on challenge and switchback? Yesterday on the cams it looked like they were blowing on them but hard to tell.
  14. Everything we do in life has risk and your points are valid but... when I ride a motorcycle I ride solo 95% of the time, I wear protective clothing, I have taken riders safety courses, I ride carefully at the posted speed limit, I don't wear a helmet (except when it's raining or the law requires it) so you can ding me on that point. I am not choosing risk level for anyone but me, I am controlling my risk level. The risk of my decision to ride and the way I ride causing death to the occupants of the cars on the road is so low that I am hardly putting them at any risk. When my wife rides along she understands the risk and knows that I ride even more carefully to lessen her risk level. When I am on a ski lift and another rider doesn't want the bar down he is choosing and raising my risk level. Your point about risk tolerance being personal is spot on, skiing and motorcycling are high risk endeavors, but as in motorcycling, in skiing I have educated myself to lessen the risk through gaining a higher mastery of my environment including safety on a lift (except the helmet as you correctly pointed out, I should be wearing one) to leave the bar up on a lift ride is losing some of that control. Putting the bar down is akin to using a seat belt, it is easy to use, is not uncomfortable, and if I come to an abrupt stop it will help to lessen injury.
  15. Razors was rotd. NM/DW close second. Main St was much improved from Tuesday. Lazy, paradise, homestretch and trails end got sugary from a good amount of traffic. Curzies (Widow maker, Raceway, whatever) to midway was good as well. The chute had several top to bottom groomer ditches on it. I agree with C1erArt, the entrance area to the new six gets rather spicey. Had conversation with Rodney, Slim and some of their crew, enjoyed that.
  16. Compared to the conditions on Saturday, this morning was good. But anything would be an improvement after Saturday's mess. The exception was, as Johnny Law said, upper main street. Chute looked bad from the lift but it skied ok. There were groomer scars here and there as one older gentleman can attest to after one got him at the midway/main street intersection. Overall, a pleasant day on the hill.
  17. Started on the new lift, interesting perspective. rode it a few times, it stopped once and was slow a couple of times. The end of Burma in front of the patrol building is a little flat but doable. I like lazy but it was rough today, happy with everything else. wish they were blowing on upper sidewinder instead of lower sidewinder.
  18. Hyata and I were waiting for conditions to improve, looks like that ploy isn't panning out. I'll be up soon.
  19. Did the new lifts base station use any of the parking lot?
