  1. Why would anyone go through all that hassle to ski in Vermont when you can drive just a little bit further and hit Elk?
  2. Kauai is the one main island I haven’t made it to yet. There are some hikes there I hope to get back and do. More time on Maui is also needed, and even the Big Island. I wouldn’t need another visit to Oahu except that I have a cousin there now, my kids haven’t been, and I wouldn’t feel right without a respects trip to the Arizona memorial. I badly wanted to hike both Haiku Stairs and Sacred Falls but both are closed and off limits and I wasn’t feeling rebellious enough. My favorite hike on Oahu was Likeke Falls. I miss Hawaii.
  3. I think Burma will open earlier than normal this year, possibly with the first pod to open. I conjecture that they know it’s a shit show when people show up for the open and get over their heads in Midway/Main because Vista isn’t enough, and they wanted a green Root to the doubledouble from jump street. The upgraded guns are supposed to be able produce in more marginal conditions, use less resources and be fully automated, right? I know an earlier Burma isn’t super exciting to us, but if it keep the Jerry mass off Midway/Main I’m all for it.
  4. Have you watched Letterkenny? That shit’s hilarious. It’s on Hulu. Or pirated. I watched it one of those two ways.
  5. But the assumption that more people are getting it in bars and restaurants and family gatherings is just as anecdotal and accepted at face. Unless there are studies showing otherwise that I haven’t seen or seen discussed . . . The only thing I recall seeing was the report of Sturis causing mass cases which turned out to be propaganda and there were really 414.
  6. Just testing or they going for it? Main Street pumping too. Bet the new guns are on Burma too
  7. I know. Can’t wait to ride up behind 30 race kids sitting one per lift chair. Truthfully though, I’m glad/hope it’s not really impacted. Would hate to see the True lose the school group AND the race team money.
  8. Yeah, it would be so 2020 for them to decide “Well, without the race team there’s no point even using resources on Razor.” And not even open it
  9. Anyone with insider Blue knowledge know what the plan for the race team is this year? Is it possible that in what could be the weirdest ski season ever we could see the best Razor’s access ever?
  10. Edited for duplicate post. Might as use it in the vein of grocery shopping to post a deal alert on whole beef tenderloin at Giant for $6.99. Easily break it down yourself for filet mignon at a fraction of the price!
  11. I don’t think most of the stores are sanitizing their carts anymore anyway. Informal anecdotal, but several stores I’ve seen the cart attendants just gathering the carts from the lot and adding them to the lineups at the store. Admittedly haven’t watched like a hawk. I take one from the corral every time unless it’s raining.
  12. My advice is to book something right away for the city pair you are interested in. Worst case you change your mind, cancel, and get the funds back with the same expiration date. But they have been rearranging flights like crazy, and when they do (it might have to be by more than a certain amount of time) you can rebook for different flights, even different days, for no additional $ as long as you don’t change the city pair. i booked those Denver flights for me and pops and like 5 days later got an email that they had changed he flight times by like 2 hours and invited me to rebook. The change was actually to a better time for us, but I was still able to go in and get the morning non-stop instead of the afternoon which was originally significantly more expensive.
  13. I paid $90. Southwest so free bags.
  14. Pops and I briefly discussed it for the tickets I snagged for the first week in Feb. The DEN - HDN hop was selling for like $30 each way. But I couldn’t justify to myself visiting the Boat a third time without checking out anywhere else out west.
  15. It was. Masks required away from table of course. At every pass through to the buffet there was a table set up with hand sanitizer and boxes of plastic gloves that were required to use the serving utensils. Tables were marked off as unusable for social distancing.
  16. Don’t know anyone who got it but I don’t have many friends, lol. No one I work with (about 20 techs) has gotten it, which is surprising with the number of interactions we have. I even survived a meal at Shady Maple in September. Touching back to @Schif’s question, at one point a few months ago Comcast tested us all and then two weeks later tested us again (entire region, not just Sellersville) but then said they were done with that. It wasn’t the grey matter poke tho, just a self-administered q-tip in the nostril.

    Elk 2020/21 Season

No, I think that Elk’s communications approach is rational and well positioned. It sets the tone from the beginning that the continued availability of skiing is really in the hands of the patrons, and I too hope Blue can get that message across. I just hope they don’t copy/paste. 😉
  18. Not many enclosed gondolas at amusement parks besides the Skyliner at WDW, but plenty of the open air, seated style. Great Adventure and Busch Gardens Williamsburg are probably the two closest to us. Interestingly, the Scenic Skyway chairlift at Knoebels is an actual ski lift, bought secondhand and repurposed.

    Elk 2020/21 Season

But without the “no open flame” caveat please.
  20. I can’t fucking wait to ski.
  21. And after a relatively long walk or skate slightly uphill from the hotel, since they are marketing the addition as useful for beginner hotel guests to get up to the outdoor waterpark area without having to ride up and ski down the mountain. That assumes the lift will embark where the current one does
