  1. Wow just wow. What did you do after skiing every day?
  2. Thanks!!! I will look for some powder poles and then I'll be skiing powder just like this:
  3. Nah I don't have powder poles. Didn't even know there was such a thing. Ok. It was so crowded that everything on piste got tracked out after the first few runs, so the fresh was short lived. The real good stuff was in the woods but I still have no clue how to turn. Think I'll stick to groomers my whole life. Groomers are fun.
  4. Hashtag throw back Tuesday... When I was first in line at Stowe for perder day. Got there at 7 am sharp and made the agonizingly difficult climb up hill. Reserved first chair by making an X with ski polls. Then waited til 7:45 when tragedy struck. RFID reader failed for no reason, just for me, so I lost first chair and was demoted to 6th chair. It ended up not mattering because I still got fresh on the first run, but all but one segment was groomed. The deep pow pow pow was very difficult to make turns in, and it was too steep to bomb. Fortunately the deep was short lived and then I queued up for run #2 with 500 other people. Got inpatient after 15 seconds and queued up at the gondela with 5,000 other people for 8:30 opening. Got impatient again so rode Eggs Over Easy gondola to Spruce. Halfway thru changed my mind and rode it back to main Gondoobie. After 5 minutes of waiting got impatient again and rode Hard Boiled Egg gondola back to Spruce, to avoid the crowds and maybe get some fresh. Got maybe half an inch on a few runs but at least got to ski instead of standing around. Overall my least favorite day at Stowe out of the 4 days I spent there, but it was still an ok day.
  5. Currently stuck in suburban Philadelphia, won't be skiing til Friday. I took off to ski at Elk because I did the same thing last year when we got "Winter Storm Steller Artois" or whatever you called it. Should be rad. Their snow quality is superior to all snow in PA. It's just like sking in Vermont. I'll miss the perder skiing but I suck in deep perder anyway. I got my fill at Stowe when I was 3 miles away for two storms.
  6. That's awesome but I refuse to participate in the weather channel's naming of snowstorms. Definitely the lamest thing ever.
  7. I was actually going to buy those kind of skis, Volkl 8.0 from a rental shop. But once I realized they are for gapers I passed and bought some sick RTMs. I swear this is not a troll post.
  8. My car came with the worst winter handling tires made... Hankook Optimo H428. When it snowed at Killington last year, I couldn't even get up the hill to the K-1 Lodge. Shortly after I upgraded to General Altimax RT43 tires which are much better, but the car doesn't function in deep snow no matter what the tires are. I saw enough cars still stuck in ditches last weekend, so I'll have to sit this one out or get a hotel somewhere like Enjorales.
  9. Ha. I knew someone would call me out on that. I hate driving in the snow, and my small car does not fare well in deep pow pow. I'm fine skiing groomed packed powder. Maybe there will be some left over moegouls for me to run on Tunkhannock or something.
  10. This storm looks pretty stoke worthy. Maybe I'll take off Friday and go to Elk or somewhere in New York..
  11. Great I haven't seen Matt Edge since that night when me you and Matt Edge skied Paradise. Really glad to hear Zack is going also... Wait a minute, who's Zack???
  12. Can you ask Root to forward me the form to request having my right to tag posts reinstated?
  13. If Montage made Long Haul a high speed I would have bought a pass there yesterday.
  14. Wow you guys were almost spared from having to deal with me next season. I procrastinated and waited until Saturday to buy my pass. If the roads were good on Saturday and I had gone to Camelback instead I might have ended up back there next year.
  15. Keep me posted on conditions. There's a possibility I'll do one last night session for the season.
  16. I've had days like that when I can't seem to get out of the frickin' backseat no matter what I try. Fortunately it doesn't happen all the time, and this weekend my skiing was good. I just don't get it!
  17. Great coverage. Just a couple bare spots on Nile Mile which were off to the side. I don't think the snow on the diamonds was actual mashed potatoes, per se. Just kind of lumpy. I prefer a nice smooth surface, like how Cliffhanger was the first few runs.
  18. It was more in the late morning/early afternoon. Probably not actually mashed potatoes like most people think of, but just lumpy and more difficult to make turns in.
  19. I might do the same. I'll try to get to Blue every weekend until they close. When's gaper day?
  20. Tags: #powpowpow #sundayfunday #18inches #sickbird #rad Another great day at Camelback. Arrived at 755 today in the lot near Stevenson lift, before the masses showed up. In the house were saltyant, Eaf, and many, many, many others. First run down Nile Mile was mad steezy. Wall to wall coverage of fresh corduroy. Next tried out Cliffhanger which was also in great shape. Stayed on the Stevenson side for a while, alternating between Nile Mile, Cliffhanger, and Rhododendron Glen. I have to use spell check every time to figure out how to write that last one. To switch it up I headed over to the Sullivan side after about an hour. Tuts was in great shape and vastly improved compared to the last time I skied it two weeks ago. Made a run down Asp, but it wasn't as good - small piles of mashed potato type snow, and patches of pure ice mixed in. As a result, I mostly stuck to blue trails throughout the day. By 11 am the lines were getting ridonculous. The singles lines at Stevenson Lift were the longest I've ever seen and stretched well beyond where the queue ends. It was annoying that they didn't open the Marc Antony and Pocono Raceway lifts earlier. If they did I might have stayed a little longer. I tried to be patient and wait because I was having fun, but ultimately the 10-15 minute waits between runs wore me down and I left around noon. Stopped at Wawa for a large coffee with Irish cream and a jalapeno cheese pretzel.
  21. I'm pretty distraught that my tagging abilities have been disabled, but I'll write a quick TR so Steeze can VUJOPO JADIP WTGAI.
  22. Thanks! That's my favorite Rocky movie. I played Training Montage and Hearts on Fire to motivate me while biking up Pike's Peak. Meant to yell Drago at the top but I was too tired.
  23. I was surprised to hear from Mr. Steeze that you also bought a Blue pass.
