  1. @mute1080- those are sweet & spicy pics! @rummy- I'm staying at Whistler Village Inn near the Gondola and the center where the shuttle drops off. Considering the lack of rental cars, I may just do the shuttle.
  2. Has anyone been to Whistler? I'm looking to February 27 - March 4'ish with my brother + a friend from college. We have a hotel booked near the Gondola but I'm mostly curious about the shuttle from Vancouver to Whistler...
  3. oh no. šŸ¤Ŗ If I ever drink boilo again, sign me up for a IV hydration drip.
  4. Friday was rad at Wissahickon. But hereā€™s a caution ... Be careful of mystery hot booze in a crock pot in a ski lodge from 1945. The hangover was the worst Iā€™ve had in years.
  5. I agree Momskeez! I love the resorts on Ikon, especially in Utah. I have Epic this year because I want to check out Stowe. I do love Epic's tracking and gamification on the app... but the gamification isn't enough to trump the quality of mountains off Ikon though.
  6. The ski hype is growing.... After the Warren Miller movie about 2 weeks ago, I have a tab on my browser with a few trips that I haven't pulled the trigger on. Heading to Wissahickon Ski Club in Conshohocken tonight. They're showing a movie about independent ski hills and are having a little event tonight. Starts at 6pm. If anyone is the area, you should come. I was invited by a friend who is a member. Just a bunch of snow loving philly people. They're playing In Pursuit of Soul, which is about independent resorts. There will be a pizza truck. Usually BYOB unless the tap is flowing.
  7. Saw Warren Millerā€™s movie at Academy of Natural Sciences with @Schif tonight. Hereā€™s a little trip report. at 6:15pm, we were sipping drinks at my house and decided to go on a whim. By 6:30, we left my house and 15 min later, we showed up in a room full of dinosaur bones. You walk in and to your right was a t-rex And straight on - some polar bears and more bones. but I knew I was in the right spot for the sheer number of people wearing Patagonia. tickets were $22 at the door. the guy at the door was like you can venmo me - eh itā€™s fine, you can just go in. Hereā€™s a ticket. šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø So canā€™t complain. Iā€™ve been to maybe 10 or so ski movies - basically annually + some one offsā€¦ once in San Fran for Pretty Faces and the rest were at the Boulder Theatre & Paramount in Denver around 2009-2015 with a group of old friends from tgr or with my brother. They were always sold out shows and the energy was electrifying. It was a huge event. In Colorado, they use to give out skis, jackets, base layers and toss Hestra gloves to get the crowd hype. At the show tonight, a blind guy with a strong arm threw out about 3 Warren Miller shirts and a beach ball. I always love ski movies. It gets me super hyped and makes me want to firm up my ski plans but ā€¦. I have some thoughts on the movie itself. It felt very 2020. has anyone else seen it?
  8. interesting. I finally got through to someone at Blue and they said the $25 kid pass isn't full access and doesn't include tubing. my niece and nephew are visiting in december and I'm such they'll have a similar attention span.
  9. Does anyone know details about the Child Pass at Blue (for kids 5 and under)? It says $25 on the site but I'm trying to figure out if that includes tubing. The livechat person doesn't seem ... very alive.
  10. @saltyant- Iā€™m down for Stowe!! I have epic this season. Iā€™ve been looking for a 1-2 ish week Airbnb in January but I havenā€™t finalized anything.

  12. Great time. Abs hurt from laughing. Thanks for hosting @AtomicSkier!
  13. They did (do?) I went a couple times. Didnā€™t pay for a ticket. Chatted with a ski patroller and went up.
  14. I know thereā€™s Tuts Lane but that one is so short. with KSL involved, I like the idea of incorporating something about Ray Tuthill ā€¦ a sentiment to the roots. Something like ? Tuthill Trail Rayā€™s Run but I also love keeping it as coming soon šŸ˜‚
  15. Woot! Thanks for hosting @AtomicSkier. Iā€™ll be there.
  16. Schifdog loathes my rain barrels. He makes fun of them on the regular. He asked, ā€œdid you calculate the square footage of your rain runoff to determine how many you needā€ soā€¦ šŸ„ø spoiler: I didnā€™t calculate anything. I just impulse purchased on amazon. I got these guys. I like them. Amazon - rain barrels i have gutters that put the water on a small garden bed. So I wanted the rain barrels to hold the water and slowly release it. And to prevent excess water from seeping below.
  17. I hope they have contest to change the name ā€¦.
  18. Blue Mountain registered "blue mountain resort homes" as a fictitious name. So, if you want to snag a site - it's for sale, @Benm. https://www.godaddy.com/domainsearch/find?checkAvail=1&domainToCheck=bluemountainresorthomes
  19. I read through it and it doesn't seem like a huge deal. I use to work for an advisory firm that did business and estate planning. I'm not an expert but here are takeaways. (1) It's not that big of a deal. (2) Update legal docs: They had a piece of business called Tuthill Corporation. I would imagine that some of those legal documents may be outdated. It sounds like there's a holding company and you can have multiple LLC's within it. So a benefit could be that they're updating their documents to reflect their intentions. It was incorporated in 1974 and amended 3x. Ray Tuthill passed away in 2007, so it likely needed a refresh anyway. (3) Corp to LLC: It's going from a Corporate structure to LLC. They're likely trying to lessen the tax burden of being a corporation. (4) Naming/Brand: There's another corporation called Tuthill Corp that manufactures and distributes engineered products like pumps, meters, vacuum pumps, etc. They're likely trying to get away from the "Tuthill corporation" name. There's also a branding benefit when you move away from a family name to a branded name. It honestly just sounds like they
  20. I'm still batttling with my groundhog. About 3 weeks ago, I walked the dog around midnight. Slipped on some flip flops and headed down my walkway. Took a step down, my flip flop kicked off and I literally stepped on my fat-ass-taco-bell-eating groundhog. He look so annoyed that I bothered him from sleeping on my steps.. About 6 months ago, I put up a trap from Harbor Freight but only caught 2 squirrels and possem. I finally called a pest guy last week. He set up 2 traps and still nothing. I know this 'hog comes by and sunbathes on the side of my house. So, I did what any normal person would do ... I set up an Amazon Blink camera focused on the traps. And, now we wait...
  21. @toast21602, what do you want to do? ski another resort? Backcountry? Crested Butte is lovely. It's great to just setup in CB and embrace the community of it all. You'll likely fly out of Denver, so you can always hit up the other ski mountains on the way to/from CB.
  22. I might take you up on that! Got the epic this year so hoping to spend some time in Colorado.
  23. right?! surgery. They're opening his stomach & remove it.
