  1. Others haven't measured?! Did you scare them off ? Or were they just not good bootfitters?
  2. you’re first few times suck but it gets better as you get use to it Although .... when I first got mine, I had a helllll of a time. I finally connected with someone who was like - it looks like they were installed incorrectly. I took them to like a “corporate” Dynafit office in Boulder and they fixed them on site.
  3. Sweet powder pic! I love the March/April storms in Colorado. You wrote out "wow just wow". Why not use WJW? I snowboarded for a solid 2 years. I'm okay at boarding but I'm pretty mediocre. Might challenge myself with it when I eventually get a Bleu pass.
  4. It’s breathable but you can add filters as well. I felt like my other masks got wet because they were so close to my face. But since this one is more pointed at the nose, it creates space and allows me to breath easier during exercise. not sure which one atomic skier recommended though 🤷🏼‍♀️
  5. Loveland is so fun! Lifts are slow but 🤷🏼‍♀️ I love the local vibes. Here’s a perder day pic from 2008 when I was snowboarding the hoots and hollers are real there snowboarding in my first powder experience
  6. I wish! I have all day firm meetings that I can’t miss 🙁
  7. It’s a small purchase but I’ve been on the hunt for the best gaiter or mask for skiing. ive been loving the Outdoor Research face mask. I’ve seen it written up in a few articles but when I saw it at Wasatch Touring, I finally decided to give it a go. Huge fan. You can find it on Amazon, REI, and other places https://www.outdoorresearch.com/us/face-masks-and-filters
  8. I got my boots at Larry’s in Boulder. It’s great place. Before covid. It was one of places that peopl3 drank beers while finding boots and talking skiing. A local shop with experts all around. ❤️
  9. what are you looking for @toast21602? I can keep an eye out while in Colorado & I’ll drive them back with me.
  10. Shout out to Urban Dictionary for coming through. and for @saltyantfor not forgetting us. in the Denver suburbs for a bit. Going wedding dress shopping with my future sister in law & doing girly things. the snow and reports look wild. Have fun!! Hoping to ski ABasin this weekend
  11. Woah! I was in the top 5?! Besides my Utah ski posts, I don’t post that much. what are the green plus signs about?
  12. When do the early bird passes usually go on sale?
  13. Bahahaha I appreciate it @toast21602! 😂
  14. Today was the Bird with 18” of new snow in 12 hours. It hurts to walk up and down steps. The powder murdered my legs. It was one for the books and definitely a top 5 day. Got a wake up call from someone driving to Mt Bleu. Was out the door by 6:45am, dropped wally off and headed for Snowbird. Got to Snowbird .. parked at entry 4 (highly recommend this lot). Skiied down a kids hill to the Peruvian Lift. There was a delayed opening so I chatted with the others in line. Then, I looked down at my collapsible ski pole and noticed I had 1.75 poles 😳🙈 somehow I turned into a gaper. Just take my ski helmet and give me denim jeans to ski in. I ran to the bathroom by the tram and back. Nothing there. Do I stay in the first row? Or go on a search and rescue for my ski pole? I was just going to stay F it and ski down with 1 working pole. Then, a stranger said ... I think I saw one by entry 4 at the top of Chickadee. So I ran up the kids ski hill to retrieve it. I returned to the line with my gaggle of stranger friends cheering. Success. Waited. Waited. And some more waits. I got on the 6th chair at 10:45am. It was epic and wild. I didn’t have a lifestyle photographer with me so no steezy photos. instead, you get some pristine powder pics of runs that were about to get tapped. The first run down - there was carnage everywhere. Lots of lost skis in the deep powder. (.... I wouldn’t know anything about it ....) I really missed my powder skis today. when I moved back to PA a few years ago, I had 5 pairs of skis including a wide pair of powder skis by Fatypus. But, before I met PASR people - I was convinced to pair down my skis. (RIP powder skis. I missed you a lot today. Hope you’re in a better place) On the Baldy lift, I rode with a man who has been ski patrol at Montage for 30 years. Small world! Hi montage man! my go-to good karma points is to offer to take a group when I see people gathering trying to get a group photo. I do it everywhere from boathouse row, art museum steps, and ski resorts . I was exhausted and it seemed like an opportunity to rest briefly. So some strangers offered to take my photo in return.. this is off of the Baldy lift looking at mineral basin lift below during the last run (on the back side.) This one is from January 23, 2021... last Saturday. Remember that post? and this is from today (January 30, 2020). Definitely had lower visibility. looking back into SLC on the last run of the day It snowed almost all day, stopping around 3:30pm. The snow felt heavier than other Colorado/Utah powder days ive had. It felt more wet, heavy, and sticky. Like the type of snowballs. I’ve had a couple powder days in California and it felt like a west coast snow. It wasn’t as light and fluffy as last weekend. I looked for some research to see if my guess is right but I didn’t get very far. https://opensnow.com/news/post/snow-ratios-explained My favorite area is usually the runs off of Path to Paradise, but that was closed. My favorite run was the first one down the front. It was deep, incredible, and a memorable sendoff as I pack up and plan to leave Utah tomorrow. at the end of the day, I strolled and saw this rad license plate.
  15. Your memory is insane. And you’re right. I left december 19 so technically 42 days annnnd still waiting
  16. Delayed opening .. people left their spots to go to Gadzooks. Mountain is opening from rightto left. But positive news ... I’m in the first row.
  17. 16” at Alta Bird... been en route for the past hour. It’s a perder day here (if I can get to the snow) Opensnow was calling for 4-6” with potential for more in LCC, which I was still pumped for. Instead, woke up to a lil gift from the snow gods. sounds like they’re doing avalanche mitigation. 💣 hopefully will get moving soon
  18. I spent some days in denver not skiing and built a custom built-in banquette seating at my brother & future SIL.. I need to write a post about that in arts & crafts
  19. Appreciate it. 😂 I usually only get eggplants from @Schif
  20. Good question. I love adventure but I miss the feeling of being settled and I miss my home. more realistically, it’s quite silly to pay a mortgage at a house I don’t live at 🤔😂
  21. Last night, I headed up to Brighton for some night skiing. It's been so gorgeous. every. day. I have today, Saturday, and Sunday left in Utah and then I go back to Colorado. Then back to Pennsylvania.. I've been on this little nomadic adventure for almost 50 days. It was 'IGHT and I was able to park right by the ticket window. There were A LOT of people. College recently started and you could tell it was the hangout spot for the local college students. On the chair lifts, I heard some interesting stories. One of the guys was a freshman and I overheard him tell his friend - "I'm totally going to propose to her". That's just not a common phrase you hear at frat parties of big state schools in between their keg stands. Besides the lines, the snow was great. I got under 10k of vertical feet because of the crowds though. It was some of the best night skiing snow I've ever had. It was like a warm cream cheese. Thick, creamy, and smooth. My favorite run was down Winter Green. When you turn off Crest Express, there's a short black/blue with some bumps. But, the bumps were more like ungroomed powder rather than tight balls of snow with very few people on it. Here's a view looking up at it. This was the view from off of Crest Express. In comparison, below is the view from January 4th This was cruising down a blue (I think Hawkeye). Tonight, I might do some touring at Park City. Saturday is Alta/Bird and Sunday will probably be Brighton to explore the full mountain.
  22. Is there a thread on the acronyms of PASR yet?
  23. I'm not a Blue regular but I like camelback because you can do touring laps.
  24. Anything is driveable if you want to spend 2+ days in a car and be a vagrant out west
