  1. June-ish. Personally i dont really care about that. Its the construction around lansdale thats a huge bummer.
  2. i was gonna say "unless you really enjoy stopping at wawa".......... There are food options, but it may not be the quick fare you are looking for. No wawa, or fast food. 3 pizza places, 1 chinese, 1 deli/market, and a dollar store. i am suprised they didnt wait until friday at 4 pm...... Mayday maybe.
  3. Next year Exit 87 will be open, which will dump you right onto 903. You are kind of doing it wrong anyways by going all the way up to 80, and through split rock. You can get off at Mahoning Valley and up that way, which is quicker, but pretty much a moot point once the slip ramp opens.
  4. for what you get with your pass.....just so cheap its ridiculous.
  5. Season pass - $515 2 Mbike passes that didnt get used quite to their potential - $228 Ski pants from steep and cheap - $66 New skis $280 Bindings Xmas gift Mount, $75 Googles - $75 Poles - $45 Flight to/from Colorado - $22 Parking $50 Car rental, gas and 1 dinner - $173 3 day lift and lodge at steamboat - $439 Buddy pass from Barb for Winter Park - $69 lodging at Winter park - Cheap. Food, beverage and stupid souvenirs ~ $250 (probably high) Hanging out with the other derelicts at Blue - Priceless Probably the cheapest western trip i have ever pulled off for 4 days. i have resigned to the fact that i will purchase at least 1 pair of skis each year, for no other reason than, they look cool. even if i dont need them. Sometimes i just cant keep the little mouse pointer from moving towards and clicking on the "buy" button. Very cheap year for me. i would have liked to do something late season, but i just couldnt get it together, and late march/april gets tough for me.
  6. i would think the catskills would be able to open this weekend if they wanted to, like most places. since the balance of the PA hills closed up, BB might be taking advantage of a little extra income. i am sure they are calculating cost VS income for this past weekend, right now to figure out if it will be worth it. Keep in mind, BB is running one lift, and its a short one at that, keeping their cost pretty low. Nobodys gonna open to lose money or break even. Nobodys gonna open so the season pass holders can all come out to ski/ride, unfortunately. i give BB opening this weekend a 30% chance. its not about if they will have snow. they could push BB trail out to stroudsburg theres so much snow there.
  7. posting on PASR and actually getting to the mountain for opening are two completly different things. Hence the phrase "Dom time". i assume they emailed this survey to everyone? i have not seen such a thing.
  8. The merry widow lift is really slow. its has sporadic chairs that have had the wooden slats replaced, and they are of varying heights which make it really uncomfortable on your ass. the good thing about that lift is it rarely stops since it only goes at a snails pace. i dont know why they run that lift when the lift right next to it has the nice molded plastic seats. kinda makes you wonder if the lifts on either side of that one actually spin, or now are just parts to keep that one going. Good for them for opening this weekend, but even though i will be right down the road, i think i will pass. i would be more inclined to go if BB lift was spinning.
  9. Big boulder will be open this weekend.
  10. i think the chances of Boulder opening are better than 50%. Conditions first thing Saturday were typical spring conditions, loose snow with some ice actually mixed in where there was shade. We made 2 top to bottom runs, and then PC sorta bumped his head. They were running 2 lifts, which were Merry Widow, and i assume freedom. the line at merry widow got pretty long while we were standing there. The one lift thing kinda sucks. if they run BB triple, it really limits the trails to Bunny, Dragonfire, BB, and Middle wig. Anything to the right of Merry widow lift will require a bit of work to get back to BB lift. If they run Merry Widow, it puts a few more trails more accessible, little bit of skating at the top, Bunny schuss might be tough on the return trip, and it is possibly the slowest lift in PA.
  11. With one lift. you going?
  12. pretty jealous of a late season trip. Looks waaaaay better than our options locally here of Big Boulder, or Big Boulder.
  13. Not ever really into nachos, but brisket, like short ribs, kinda would bring them to another level. Skiing looks nice. How are the trees?
  14. It does appear as though camelback has pulled the plug. From their website - MOUNTAIN CLOSED TUBING & ZIP OPEN The ski area is closed for the season! Snowtubing and Camelback Mountain Adventures is open today - Wednesday for the Passover holiday. Come tube and play at our adventure park. I think Boulder is saying they will be open this weekend with one lift. Platty will be open at least Sat. Wish that place was a little closer.
  15. I might run over to boulder to enjoy my last weekend as a season pass holder. I believe camelback is charging full price. I cant see me giving them $65, when i have a pass to boulder, and have to drive past it to get there.
  16. i got a magic marker "X" on my ticket at BB a few decades ago for skiing off trail, and we all know how little there is off trail at BB. i was told the next time they would clip the ticket.
  17. Boulder will be weekend by weekend from now on. I suspect they will open next weekend as well, since camelback will be open. After that, they can claim, "first to open, last to close."
  18. Camelback Mountain Resort Hi Alvin, we are not currently offering the traitor pass this year, if anything changes it will be posted. Like ยท 4 hrs
  19. For Frost anyways. i was kinda hoping they would do something completely cool and open Frost up this weekend so at least i wasnt giving Camelback any of my hard earned Money. Boulder is open though, sponsored in part i guess by the makers of Sleepy Time Tea, since they arent opening till 10 am. The 10 am opening will give who ever goes plenty of time to have a few cocktails before hand, in hopes it makes the trails seem a little longer, and the lifts seem a little faster. At least its skiing though. Thank you for a great season at Jack Frost! BUT DON'T FRET Big Boulder is still open for the BEST spring conditions in years! Big Boulder Weekend Outlook... 10:00am to 6:00pm Saturday and Sunday 100% Open 2 lifts $25 snow pass $15 rentals Snow Tubing 10:00am to 6:00pm Saturday and Sunday $25 tube all day Snowsport Learning Center Discovery Beginner Lesson 11:00am to 3:00pm SnowMonsters Kids Lesson 11:00am to 2:00pm
  20. How much snow remains in the Glades?
  21. I was kinda glad to learn i wasnt the only one who was completely worthless after getting home from the party. Yesterday sure was a good time. I picked up a few items that were left behind. A small blue cooler with a piece of ductape on the lid that says "soda", and a blue coleman folding chair. Let me know if you own these items and i will do what i can to get them back to you hopefully in under 8 months.
  22. I think thats kind of it. Notice how they keep saying "anticipated" though. Maybe there is hope for the following weekend. Back on topic. I can handle rolls. Maybe Schif has another table he can give NMSKI another try at.
