  1. wind blown slopes with pockets of powder. much more crowded than i thought it might be. E-glade had tons of powder in it, problem is underneath is somewhat litterd with some pretty solid snow boulders. Roberts Run is more of the same. Challenge Glade was ok. Elevator is better, you can get a little further down before you have to bail out the side. i dressed like an astronaut.
  2. last weekend from the lift it sure did look like it was getting a ton of snow on it. forgot to go check it out though. the glades are great, and they are really paying attention to them. But i feel like complaining: i am somewhat dissapointed with the elevator and elevator glade. just doesnt seen like its getting the love it got last year. theres no landing to the elevator what so ever. 2 quick turns and you have to ski off the side. you have to pick your way through the e-glade boulder field, needs more snow. this storm wasnt quite what we were hoping for. a little help Heather? Guido?
  3. i think the predicted amounts are on the conservative side.
  4. it looks like this has gone west on the lastest runs. we could see some snow in the area. this might turn out to be a suprise snowstorm. looks to be starting a little sooner on sunday.
  5. it looks like this has slowed down some, which is good in many ways. no longer a white christmas, unless you celebrate it late sunday evening or monday.
  6. what he said. the slides will always be hit or miss, they really dont open all that often. whiteface is a great time though....tons of glades.
  7. looks like its going to snow. how much is the question. the weather weenies latest model had big big snow for our area.
  8. i can only imagine that this storm will dump heavy snow throughout the region. my plan is to bolt to the poconos sunday evening after my second glorious day of christmas. i see this storm causing a delay of that plan. im stoked for snow, but the later in the weekend this happens, the better.
  9. seriously.... i hope they realize they are losing you as an instructor and a patron. i think it would be a bold statement to say you are the reason they brought the elevator back, but i do think your "bring the elevator back" thread had a hand in it. thats the stuff that makes Frost a great place to ski. But you not getting a job there is a huge stoke stomper.
  10. neither me or Dom could stay away from the elevator. theres absolutly no landing what-so-ever, hard crusty snow with no grip. one park glade gets 4 cool points out of 5. very nice addition. those bumps are looking better since they blew snow on them last night, too.
  11. bummer, bummer, bummer. Jack Frost without its patron saint? sucks.
  12. he couldnt make it....car trouble or something.
  13. X2. these are cool. just my .02 cents here....everyone on here will recognize the second one, but someone unfamiliar with the site will be able to recognize and remember the first one with just a quick glance.
  14. looks awesome. you are definetly hardcore for car camping in those temps.
  15. sometimes the fun just never ends!
  16. whoa.....i assume this was partly due to the weather? edit: my bad....for some reason i thought snowshoe was much closer. its not.
  17. i stayed until just after 1:00, kinda waiting for east mountain to open. it doesnt sound like it ever did. challenge glade was fun all day. if you ask me, they may have thinned challenge glade out a little too much. good snow day.
  18. yeah, sniff sniff. we all feel really bad you cant make it. enjoy Tahoe.
  19. i think snowshoe is an excellent call. Jealous. have fun.
  20. they started making snow on east like wednesday, so probably next weekend.
