  1. must be working on his new helmet cam/web device/ski tuner/umbrella. we all know he likes the electronics. my guess is X means conditions not so good for skiing today.
  2. nice....been wanting to try a brisket in the orion for a while....brisket sandwiches rock.
  3. sweet. keep it up. god knows we like pictures.....and its boring as hell in here otherwise.
  4. better than what i skied yesterday. (which was nothing) so,..... i'm jealous.
  5. great day for sure. people were killing the jumps on big boulder today for sure. putting my gear in the closet . most likely my last day as well.
  6. nice pics....as always.
  7. kool-aid. we all had some. good times at jack frost this year for sure, great people to ski with, and if you really think about it the weather was pretty good this year. the liberal ski policy at JFBB definetly sets it apart, and the efforts they made for this season with the elevator, e-glade, etc, really makes everyday something different. the PASR day probably couldnt have been held on a better day, thanks to a nice dump for 2 days prior. that was a great day spent with some really cool people. it seems like just last week we were all waiting for word of BB to open one little tiny slope for everyone in eastern PA to ski on. seems like the best season of the year goes by so fast. John must have doubled up on the kool-aid - funniest thing i've read in a while. i think thats a quick stone grind on the bases, right?
  8. was a real nice day overall to end the season at frost. our first runs of the day we were able to hit ballistic speeds. challenge glade still had tons of snow in it, as you could tell by the holes around the trees. elevator skied nice and smooth. at 11:30 PC, Serch and myself made ballistic speed over to the cantina for the passholders party. food was very good, and plentiful. JAHHDIP
  9. i actually thought the elevator would have looked worse. nice to hear challenge glade is still skiable too. i will be up this weekend.
  10. its pretty cool when day 2 of skiing can meet or exceed day 1. day 2 at whiteface was awesome. the temperature overnight didnt get quite as cold as the previous night, so our first runs were nice soft snow. the nice folks at whiteface were kind enough to open a few more trails today that were closed yesterday....lower cloudsplitter, empire, cloudsplitter glades, and sugar valley glades. cloudsplitter glades stick out to me as a favorite of mine at whiteface. very expansive area...tight trees and many lines throughout the glade. sugar valley glade was excellent as well, although only the lower area was open today. just the lower area took us at least 15 minutes to ski, i can only imagine what the whole length of the glade is like. at lunch we came up with our hitlist of trails we wanted to finish the day out on, before we ran out of steam. for me it was another run through the glades, Dom wanted another run down look out below. after we reconnected at the face lift, we ran up to the summit to run down upper skyward, and blazers bluff. we rode up the gondola one last time to hit cloudsplitter glades, where we connected with high country glades, which were just as much fun as the other glades. pic-topia cloudsplitter glades high country glades sugar valley glades upper empire
  11. sounds like an awesome trip. i also wouldnt have put aspen too high on the list for out west, but it looks as though it shouldnt be overlooked. i would think having a guide like johnnystyle makes the experience that much better. great pics too. that view from johnnystyles place.....it must suck waking up to see that....
  12. you are kidding, right? pics coming in as we speak....stay tuned.
  13. stoke stomper of the day - leaving my gloves at the hotel. but after a visit to the whiteface ski shop i am the proud new owner of a pair of gloves rated for much colder temps than we skied in today. i think when we left the temp was about 50 degrees without a cloud in site. whiteface is quite an experience for me, steep with big vertical. i have not skied anything similar for many years now. the slides where closed, and from the lift you can tell why. they are well skied out, the base is basically ice from waterfalls to begin with. but it would have been nice to ski at least one of them since they are rarely open. there is plenty of terrain here to challenge yourself with even without the slides. look out below is crazy, and i thought upper skyward was a great trail. great day of skiing today. pics: welcome sign at the top of little whiteface whiteface summit from little whiteface Dom glades looking down look out below looking up look out below me blazers bluff other random pics
  14. well, theoretically of course, i remember more than a weeks notice about the season passholders party..so i doubt its this weekend. and if history repeats itself, JF was open for one more weekend after the passholders party. i'm thinking positive...closing on the 28th. lots of variables in this equation, though. if we get 7-8 inches of rain, my house will become an ark.
  15. i'm gonna have to go ahead and disagree on that one. it would be cool if they did, but i dont think they do. if this weekends weather doesnt pan so good, i will also have a couple i didnt get to use.
  16. lots of leftovers from friday. great show from the lift at times.
  17. definetly a fun day....and definetly one of the top days at frost this year for sure. we lucked out with that storm dumping somewhere near 2 feet. pics from risk it...... toast, johnnystyle, jeff toast P A Ridge Racer last but not least, Mr. 1985 (johnnystyle)
  18. the elevator was crazy deep today....one spot up top still not holding snow well, but it was pretty cool. lots of people hiking it out at the bottom. the most amazing thing i saw was someone going at the elevator from the headwall before it with enough speed to do 2 backflips before i lost sight of him. (i was on the lift) it was a good day. tomorrow should be more of the same in the glades and the elevator. my pics wont do it justice, but here's 2 of the elevator.
  19. Had a great time at frost today, most likely the least crowded I have ever seen it. Challenge trees nice with lots of powder. Hardly any traffic on the e-glade, or the elevator. The top of the elevator still isn't really holding snow, but I think the heavy wet stuff from the other day helped to make the top a little less icy. The bottom is really deep with powder on top and some heavier, clumpy snow underneath. Roberts run was nice, but not quite as pristine as 2 weeks ago. Mad tree glade is probably in the most skiable condition this year. I was even thinking of skiing gonzo's grind, but passed on it. Jahhdip.
  20. another great day at frost, skied from 11 to 3. trails were all groomed out but still pretty soft. challenge glade still real nice, the elevator still scraped off up top with big piles of powder everywhere. getting pretty bumped up. our favorite run from yesterday got a little more tracked out, still has some powder in it, but skis alot faster now. completely different situation today with the crowds compared to the last 2 days, it was very crowded. lots of people walking down slopes with skis, and lots of people that must have stopped at wal-mart on thier way up for ski gear.
  21. got to the mountain just after opening bell. found PC and Serch right away at the bottom of east mountain. PC reported the elevator was scratched off at the top but lots of powder scattered from 2/3rds down, challenge glade was deep, and trails were groomed. i showed PC and Serch a nice little area that was deep in powder that i found yesterday. we're working on a name for it, Roberts Run might stick, we'll see. we split runs between east mt and challange glade for a while before we found Schiff in front of us on the lift. we skied the balance of the day together, and actually skied the whole mountain in search of the untracked powder stashes. we found quite a few areas with real nice fresh powder covering up some exceptional rocks. skied until about 2:30, PC and Serch were going to take another run or two before leaving, and Schiff was making a move towards Boulder to get first tracks. just a few pics, unfortunatly schiff showed up after picture time was over. skiers left on challange was left ungroomed below the bumps PC in Roberts Run Serch found this little deep spot all on his own another great day at frost.
