Looking like a perfect day for Silverton tomorrow, and then more snow through Tuesday. Some forecasts show up to 40” by Tuesday.

Here is a picture of @NMSKI from this morning at 11:15am. Not a lift line in sight, either.

I'm going to ski for a little this AM, head to Montrose early to get a run in on dry ground / lower elevation, and then pick up the boys. I wonder if they'll need a road soda?

Your heads up display is telling you to make a right turn....in 449 miles!
Yup. It was over 500 at one point. Just kept telling myself “you just have to drive from home to North Carolina”

A beautiful day here in Telluride. I love the lack of rush. Skied right from the house a little after 9 and we were on our way. Sun was out, snow was great, and gave @skiincy a tour of Telluride in the morning. Quick stop back at the house to get my pack and grab something to eat, as I wanted to hike Bald Mtn in advance of @NMSKI and @Johnny Law’s arrival to check out conditions. Hiked up Bald Mtn quickly, and enjoyed some deep and untracked, albeit heavy turns. Little too heavy for my liking. Skied directly to Gorrono Ranch where I assumed the position and got numb. @skiincy and @Barb arrived shortly there after. Going to ski for a few hours tomorrow AM and then go pick up the boys at MTJ. JADIP.
@skiincy departing the accommodations in the AM
Where I was going to get numb later....
The position...

I rated this thread 4 stars, but not 5 yet, since it's 3 pages long and you haven't posted a single helicopter shot or credit card worthy snapshot of you shredding neck deep snorkel worthy pow pow on your Këstles. When is the stoke barometer going to hit 100%??
I do like the HUD in your sportscar though, and nice lodge 😯
I'm glad you like the HUD. It's really good for keeping you "heads up" while changing songs, looking at navigation directions, etc.
Sorry that this thread hasn't been up to your amazing report standards. I'll try to do better.

Woke up a beautiful morning in Denver after a great dinner and celebratory drinks with a college buddy who just had his first child and just landed a big new job. Went for a nice 8 mile run on the High Line Canal Trail. Hit the road around 9:15am enroute to Telluride. It was 50F when I left under sunny, albeit windy, skies. About an hour into the drive when I was on a plateau the crosswind was over 50mph, causing insane blowing snow that I was losing touch with the car that was pretty close in front of me. Luckily that only lasted for about 20 miles. I really enjoyed some of the sweeping passes on the way to Montrose 😀. Quick stop in Montrose for some food, and then hammered down to Telluride. Weather is beautiful here. Settled in, just waiting for @Barb to drop by in a few. Yes, @Barb. Don't want to be accused of leaving out @Barb. Also, @skiincy should be here in an hour or so.

Somewhere in CO. Had to get it out before I went for a run.

Well done lad, that's 10 minutes faster than Google Maps even with fuel stops. You must have stopped doing your breaks every 2 hours. I try to only stop once every 350 miles for gas and dont drink anything so I dont have to stop a lot to make pee.
I stopped to pee 4 times, poop once, and fuel twice.

How was your 420 mile drive thru Kansas?? Did you get stopped by the Po-Po like I did for doing 83 in a 75??
Nah I had the cruise at 82. I covered 164 miles in two hours at one point. Not a single slow down 😂

That event still bothers me all these years later. Keep in mind, I was the only minor present, everyone else was grown adults and still pulled that fuck boy shit. I was wondering why the high school kid had a greater sense of decency than the grown adults present
OMG you’re amazing.

That’s almost as messed up as spending weeks begging Barb to drive 2.5 hours to blue, then immediate ditching her first run. PASRs pretend this didn’t happen but I remember
Snowboarders suck.

Sorry @Barb it was a long day.
I’m already passed the halfway point of today’s drive, both in time and distances. 400 miles left to Denver, and ~5h45m remaining. I’ve been driving through a snow storm for the last 100+ miles but it was mostly blowing across the road and could still keep speeds up around 75-80. Clear of the weather now with the hammer down.

The WFH situation has afforded me the ability to do something I’ve wanted to do. Spend at least a month in Colorado. One week in Telluride (with a day trip to Silverton) with @NMSKI and @Johnny Law, 4 weeks in Crested Butte, and a week in Aspen. After that, who knows.
Today started that adventure. I departed 6:10am to dumping snow on 78. It was slow going for 30 miles or so. Finally broke free of that and set the cruise and relaxed. I had about 860 miles to cover to St Louis, my planned overnight stop. I had forgotten how beautiful the views from the PA turnpike are. Ohio is pretty flat, Indiana is a narrow state, and Illinois is just flat farmland. About 14 hours later, I crossed the mighty Mississippi and arrived in St Louis. Long day of driving, but I was in no rush. Stopped at least every two hours. Tomorrow’s destination is Denver to visit some friends. Should be at least an hour less driving tomorrow, but nothing really to look at. Might encounter some snow on my drive, but only an inch or two.
Only picture I took today was at a random rest stop in Illinois of the car. It’s filthy, but kickin’ ass.

We’re back. Amazing day. Insanely good skiing. I need to drink some champagne first, and then pictured and videos will be posted.
