  1. Their website sucks major balls, tried to purchase a pass like 10 times and the fucker doesn't work ( wtf does zero balance mean.......I may actually have to talk to someone on the phone which offends me deeply
  2. Ehh 8-10 days and then I think we will be fine....
  3. That's incredible the way you can predict the future Seriously though your probably right but it's nice that they seem to be prepared if we luck out and it gets cold early. I believe they were delayed last year because they didn't inspect their lifts......definitely better than that.
  4. Did I miss something or did anyone else hear no Ascutney this year ?
  5. Garmisch is the way to go normally but the Berchtesgaden is pretty fucking cool and not alot people ski there primarily because it's not Austria. Lots of cool history with the Eagle's Nest and shit like that plus the Jenner gondy and mountain top resturant are cool. Jenner is on the way to Austria ....kinda...so that might be worth checking out. Don't forget about Oberstdorf probably as good as Garmisch without some of the bullshit.
  6. That's fucking sick for Halloween....
  7. Sometimes you just get a resort stuck in your head, for years I really wanted to check out Apex. Apex was pretty cool but compared with the stuff nearby it was kinda ehh but I had to go there because the possibilities I could see in my head were just too cool.
  8. I want to ski on the Moon.....moon surface = diamond dust like powder....lift ticket is fucking killer though Schweitzer is ok, alot like Wolf Creek, flat and foggy with lots of shit and sharp rocks lurking. Low crowds though, good tree skiing and decent chance of good snow. Cat skiing isn't worth the money and there is a lift that is like epic slow. I would just keep driving and go to Big/Whitefish or better yet keep driving and go to Nelson or Golden. If you do go stop at Thor's pizza.
  9. Killington will blow soon and they actually have snow on the ground where as Maine got jack shit
  10. Definitely Rax those things rock !!!
  11. How nice do you want them ? I got a pair for free but they are missing some edge and some base.......excellent for rails. T-hall's circa 08ish 176 length, pretty beat but free to you if you can wait a month as I'm in Minneapolis until at least Nov.
  12. Don't buy shit from preschoolers, I mean newschoolers. Most of the peeps their are 14 years old and think there 5 year old busted cheap shit is worth $300 because ya know they really need a new XXXXXXXXXXXXXL Saga suit. Now their video work is top notch but don't buy shit form kids, they can't form a proper valuation and have no money so they want way too much for everything.
  13. serious lulz, Peak is on ok shape because they picked up Mt Snow and Attitash on the cheap when ASC shit the bed. They are not immune to the long term metrics of the ski industry which is that in the last 20 years 90% of the industry is a real estate deal. Very few hills actually make their money from skiing, shit Bridger, Alta, Mad River and a few others. I love those hills they are my kinda places but they have serious financial constraints. Add in that 90% of the skiing world is focused on base lodge amenities and how many high speed lifts you have rather than if operations and infrastructure are sustainable and you can ski how the resort side of snow sports is at a very interesting cross road.
  14. Although you are a terrible troll, Gulmarg is the shit, one of the last truly out there places. There are runs there that make Hobacks look like Sasquatch at the Creek.
  15. Lots of Euros come to NA because the snow is better and the slack/backcountry is generally speaking far less dangerous. Euro is incredible but definitely more of a pain in the ass.
  16. They used to try to sell that Densolite core shit as being superior to wood and it was if you wanted noodles. They were almost all monocoque even the park skis. I'm no Einstein but putting all the strength in the sidewalls of a ski that is going to get beat to shit on rails and such is just plain stupid. Lots of new cheap park skis here - http://www.departmentofgoods.com/sales/Alpine-Skiing/1/subcat.html#search=%3Fpath%3Dcdepartmentofgoodsc1s1%2523%2523l%2523%2523cv%257e%257encdepartmentofgoodsc1s1g125%2523%25230%2523%2523n
  17. Ah good catch the toe piece looks like the post geze one but you can see that big silver thingy on the heel from the px series.
  18. bad ass ! would love to be on any snow right now. Though to be honest I'm not sure what I'm more impressed with, that your skiing in September or that you nabbed some blond girl who skis in the sausagefest that is a skitown. Either way strong work... Edit: Wait that chick looks to on FKS circa 2008ish with turntables....quality.
  19. I'm pretty sure they aren't boarding Jay, one the area towards Little Jay is leased by the resort and has been part of a proposed expansion since 2004ish. The other way down the ridge is Big Jay which has all kinds of access issues after some rednecks clear cut a section. I know for a fact that land is under strict state control because every once in awhile Jay gets in trouble for clearing trees over the size limit. Jay sits on the Jay Ridge and in the other directions its pretty flat.
  20. I was never there but I've skied that area extensively and I'm not quite sure where there properties are. First I've never heard of Gravity bowl so its probably made up, Burnt Mtn is near Bakersfield which is roughly 10 miles south west of Jay Peak resort near Long trail state park. Due to their elevation they must be in the small ridge area in-between Bakersfield and Montgomery Center. If you find Bakersfield on a map you'll see it sits on 108, just a little south 109 runs east/west through Belevedere and further east is 118. These roads form a rough boundary of the area they are talking about. That's not exact and if they are making up names for shit it could be way off but I'm pretty sure that's were it is. At that elevation its not really a bowl think more glacial depression, heavily wooded and probably lots of undergrowth. My recollection is that GMC got its land from the state in return they had to allow unrestricted access to said land, I've never actually looked so I could be wrong but you could probably check it out without becoming a member. Regardless its not like there are people in the woods up there patrolling for renegade skiers. The lodges though look cool maybe I'll see what the deal is with becoming a member.
  21. Awesome I have the version before that and they are without a doubt my favorite ski. You can maybe use them two or three days a year, they are soft as fuck, if you even slightly engage the edge your legs shoot off in opposite directions, the bases are slow and almost never level but god damn are they great in the deep. Nimble and fast like a Hippo, you can finally ski pow like you do in your head. With the ARG and the LP I could use only those two skis for the rest of life and be more than happy.
